The air conditioning is a bit old-fashioned, but everything else is fine. The location is quite ideal, with plenty of local food stalls nearby, a 7-Eleven right outside, and songthaews readily available. The hotel price is very reasonable. I recommend it for families with children and couples. There's an indoor pool, and the opening hours are posted on the door, though I didn't go in – Bangkok is really hot!

Staying at Ralph Hostel as a solo traveler in Bangkok was an excellent experience. The hostel has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere that makes it very easy to meet other travelers while still feeling comfortable and safe. The staff were welcoming, helpful, and always happy to give local tips or recommendations. The rooms and common areas were clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for travelers. lockers felt secure, and the overall vibe was social without being noisy. The location was also very convenient, with easy access to public transportation, street food, cafés, and nearby attractions. One of the highlights was the rooftop garden, which offers absolutely amazing views of the nearby palaces. Watching the sunset and seeing the palace rooftops light up in the evening was truly special and made the stay even more memorable. Ralph Hostel is a fantastic choice for solo travelers looking for great value, comfort, and a unique Bangkok experience. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Great location, 3 minutes to the metro, 15 minutes' walk to Wat Arun and the pier. The room is excellent. Tea and coffee are free at any time in a designated area with tables. The glass sliding doors are so transparent and clean that you don't notice them; you can tell by looking at them. A sticker would have been nice. The refrigerator turns off when you leave the room. There's a night market nearby.

Very happy with my stay. The lady who checked me in was really nice and gave me some Tom yum crackers. Location is good and close to a lot of tourist spots, restaurants and bars. Close to the muay thai stadium and the arts centre. Rooftop and lobby are good areas for socialising. Rooftop if you want to sit in the sun, lobby if you want air conditioning. Room itself is clean and people are respectful. Be aware they charge for towels! Also if you’re not good with steep stairs maybe this won’t be your place. There are four levels and the steps themselves are pretty high

The experiences are very two-fold. On the one hand, the hotel is new and clean, with good equipment and furniture, with very nice and good staff. They are very grateful for having kept our bag for a few days while we traveled north of the country. But we are not lucky. First of all, the room got the smallest and uncomfortable, apparently on the first floor, space is not thought for comfort, with a small combined sauna, lack of space for things (only three hangers on the wall), no chair or a taburet or a chip, a couple of roses (one of which without a shelf - the phone was put on the floor just like most things). There are no breakfasts (although there is a dining room, but it looks like only for staff), there are tables on the street with a view to the channel, smoking and drinking are prohibited throughout the hotel. Another strange moment: During 3 nights, we never came to us, respectively, did not take out the garbage and brought water, but plus the staff, of course, when I asked about the cleaning, they apologized and made a fruit-snow complement. In general, the location is not bad, quiet area, near Wat Arun and Kudichin area with a walking embankment. But if you 're waiting for some kind of window, it 's probably only on the 3rd and 4th floors. Reviews were few as the hotel is new and we took these risks as booked at the last moment. Thank you again to the staff for their kindness and smiles. If you are ready for all the nuances listed above and better to improve the shortcomings, it will be good.

Facilities: Since it's newly renovated, the facilities are all very new and brightly colored. However, they're so new that there's still a fresh renovation smell. Cleanliness: Very clean, with a few small flying insects, but that's normal. Environment: The hotel environment is nice, but the surrounding area is a bit lacking; it's a bit dark and there's not much to see, although there's a 7-Eleven a few minutes' walk away. Advantages: Very close to Wat Arun and the Grand Palace. Wat Arun is only 400 meters away, within walking distance. It's also very close to the pier; a 30-second boat ride takes you to Wat Pho and the Grand Palace. Very convenient, suitable for an 8 AM trip to the Grand Palace. Disadvantages: A very local location; the surrounding area is mostly repair shops, making it a bit dark and not suitable for going out at night, but it's sufficient for sleeping. Service: The receptionist in the evening was very welcoming, showing us to our room and answering our questions politely.

GGuest UserYou won't find a better value hotel in Bangkok. It's really close to the pier, and you can get to central Asok in just 20 minutes by boat. The hotel is brand new, the gym is well-equipped, and the infinity pool is quite large and absolutely stunning – it uses filtered seawater. Breakfast is also very good. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThis is the most complete hostel I've ever been to. There are six floors with several balconies and all of it remains spotless. The common areas are awesome. The river view is amazing I look forward to seeing the fireworks on the river every time. The staff are friendly and accomodating and there are more than enough bathrooms and showers for everybody here. I don't have anything to complain about, I like it a lot here

AAlexTannThis hotel was the last stop on our trip to Thailand. Compared to The Nai Harn, it felt grander and more business-oriented, which was evident from the breakfast spread – definitely geared more towards business travelers. We stayed on the executive floor, though it wasn't an executive room itself... which I found a bit odd. The hotel's decor has a retro, old-fashioned vibe, making it feel less like a holiday retreat for me personally. However, these weren't major issues. The staff's service attitude was consistently excellent. The main pool was quite busy, possibly because two youth football teams were staying there, so there were lots of people playing and having fun. It was still a good experience overall.

GGuest UserI booked a river view room, and the view was absolutely stunning, offering a panoramic sight of the Chao Phraya River's nightscape. The room was clean and tidied daily. Breakfast was a generous spread. Walking out and turning right, it's about a 5-minute stroll to Asiatique The Riverfront. From 10 AM to 8 PM, there's a boat service every hour from the hotel to the Central Pier. From there, you can take another boat for 10 Baht per person directly to ICONSIAM on the opposite bank. For 600 baht a night including breakfast, the value for money is really good.

GGarreth HuntBangkok was the last stop on our trip to Thailand and we booked this hotel as a treat to end our trip given it's 5 star status. We were left very disappointed... The lobby is lovely and is indicative of a high end hotel but that's where it ended unfortunately. The rooms are 3 star at best. We had booked a room with a balcony specifically but the initial room we were given didn't have one. The staff were very helpful and moved us to another room with a balcony, however the balcony was surrounded by fans so we had limited views. We were offered another room on our second day with a better balcony but the room itself was smaller so we opted to stay where we were. From what we could see, none of the balconies are great so I would avoid paying the extra for rooms with them. The pool is cold and in need of some work, the grout is coming away in many areas creating sharp edges in spots. Also not 5 star quality. Breakfast was the nicest setup and offering we had seen in Thailand.

EExpat EDventuresWe had a very pleasant stay at Somerset Sukhumvit 71 Bangkok. Check-in was easy and smooth with welcome infused water, and the on-site café was excellent, with delicious breakfast pastries. The beds were firm and clean, the room was comfortable, and housekeeping did a great job cleaning and making our beds daily. We also appreciated that both of our rooms were booked next to each other, which made travelling as a family much easier. Our fourteen-year-old’s bed was already made up upon arrival, which was a thoughtful touch. John, the concierge, was outstanding. He managed to book a same-day bike tour for our family of six and also kindly arranged our airport transfer. His service truly stood out and made our stay even better. Our only disappointment was New Year’s Eve. We had planned to ring in the new year at the rooftop venue, but it was fully booked. I had messaged the hotel in advance through the Trip app but didn’t receive a response. Instead, we followed a restaurant recommendation from the front desk, only to arrive 56 minutes before closing and be told the kitchen was already closed. Two other nearby restaurants were also closed, so we ended up grabbing snacks from the 7-Eleven across the street. The hotel kindly unlocked our balcony so we could at least watch the fireworks from our room. The rooftop restaurant is beautiful, and the pool area is also very nice, although the water was quite cold, so we didn’t swim. The location is a bit far out, but overall, we enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it and booked a third night. A great hotel with excellent service, especially from the concierge, and we would happily stay again.

GGuest UserThe hotel location is convenient, just a 10-minute walk from the BTS Skytrain station. There's also a connected walkway from the second floor of the adjacent EmSphere mall, so you don't have to walk in the sun. The surrounding area is lively, with plenty of food, entertainment, supermarkets, convenience stores, massage places, and malls – very convenient. It's also only about a 10-minute walk to Asok station and Terminal 21. The hotel is a bit old, and the facilities and decor are a bit dated, but it's generally clean and tidy, and the service is warm and friendly.

AAnasdanWe stayed at this hotel for two nights. Cons The rooms are very outdated. Furniture, walls, corners, and the bathroom show visible wear and damage. The rooms clearly need renovation. The photos on the listing do not reflect the current condition of the rooms. They look much newer than they actually are. A stove was listed as an amenity, but in reality it was not usable — it was covered with a fixed wooden panel and could not be opened. There is no tea or coffee in the room, despite a coffee machine being shown in the photos. Tea is available at the reception during daytime only. The air conditioner is very noisy. It is controlled via a wall panel (no remote control) with limited settings, and even on the lowest mode the noise is noticeable. There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom, so steam stays in the room after showering unless the door is opened. The TV offers only Thai channels. There is no Smart TV and no option to connect a phone. The kitchen area has a sink, cabinets, and basic dishes, but it is not functional due to the lack of a stove. Despite cleaning, the room looks visually worn because of the overall condition of the walls and ceiling. Pros The bed is comfortable, with two pillows per person. Clean bed linen. The bathroom was clean, with good water pressure. The room includes a new hairdryer, a refrigerator, dishes, and cutlery. There is a balcony facing the courtyard, where smoking is allowed. The staff were polite and helpful. The receptionist spoke good English and explained everything clearly, and the housekeeping staff were also very friendly. The hotel provides a golf cart shuttle to nearby shopping malls. The location is convenient, close to M-Sphere, Emporium, and the M District, which was the main reason we chose this hotel. Overall Suitable for a short stay of one night. The main drawback is the outdated rooms and mismatch with the photos. The location and staff are the hotel’s strongest points.

AAnonymous UserI stayed here for four nights. Many reviews mentioned the hotel's remote and inconvenient location. It's true that it's nestled in a quiet alley within a wealthy Sukhumvit neighborhood, so the location itself isn't an issue, and it's suitable for longer stays. It's quite far from tourist attractions, and the alleys in Sukhumvit are winding and don't connect well, which can be troublesome if you're walking. However, I always took taxis, so it was fine. It's a bit of a distance from 7-Eleven. The environment and facilities are definitely up to four-star standards. The security guard was very proactive and responsible. My two points of confusion were: first, upon check-out, the front desk insisted I wait for them to inspect the room before leaving, even though I had already paid a deposit. Second, after the room was cleaned, the hand towels and floor towels were removed, and only one regular towel was left. I don't understand this practice, and in the subsequent days, fewer and fewer towels were left after cleaning.

GGuest UserThe hotel is situated almost the end of silom but close to Hindu temple for me to visit and more convenient for me to worship almost everyday when I get bored or when I have Sth in my mind . The breakfast is the same old same old and no matter time fly so is the same but u need to rotating the hot breakfast menu and too minimise a food cost and food waste after service. The room was great ! And thanks for an upgrade with the tup and made me to relax after the humid and hot day or after window shopping. The room is clean and housekeeping are friendly and ask for the service . Staff are friendly for checking in and I feel bad when staff complain and u under the pressure and have to get police involve and I want to step up and help u to rectify a problem but I am off duty as I am on a short vocation so next time and don’t be afraid and stay tough with this people cause they complain too much but always pay less and expect more or not enough ( tell them ) or ask them to go to neighbour hood hotel instead or try to negotiate with them and catering the best u can by not getting affect by room revenue . I hope to see u again in the future maybe in other excutive room with a bath tub and view but u all need to refurbish some room or the best type of room to upgrade or selling to a guest and increase room revenue incremental .
