The Venetian® Resort Las Vegas

LV's hotel is nowhere near as good as Macau's. Let me describe what this 5-star hotel is like: I booked a newly renovated luxury city view room, and the photos showed it to be very luxurious with city views, so I had high expectations. Secondly, there are traps everywhere. The mini-bar water and snacks cost money, and there's no signage! My child accidentally opened a small bottle of mineral water and three mini-snacks, which cost $58 USD. There are two refrigerators; whatever you do, don't touch one of them, as even a slight movement will be sensed and added to your bill. Resort fees are a given, and definitely don't upgrade arbitrarily. As for hygiene, in one of our rooms, when we checked in, there were razor shavings left by the previous guest in the bathroom basin. The toilet paper was placed on the vanity, and the pillow had black stains, so the attention to detail was severely lacking. Overall, it felt inferior to a four-star hotel in China. It's old, stingy, and full of hidden costs.

This hotel's location is absolutely perfect, right on the most vibrant stretch of the Las Vegas Strip. You step out and immediately have access to casinos, malls, and restaurants – incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The room is super spacious, and opening the window offers a direct view of the Eiffel Tower, with the nightly light show fully visible. This view alone makes it worth the price. The room was spotlessly clean, and the facilities were comprehensive. Considering the location and the price, it truly offers excellent value for money. Parking is only $20 per day, which is quite reasonable for the Strip. However, there are some clear downsides: the desk was largely taken up by a vending machine, making me wary of accidentally paying just to grab a bottle of water, and there was no space for a laptop. The Wi-Fi only allows two devices to connect simultaneously, requiring payment for additional devices. The check-in line was also excessively long, almost testing my patience to its limits. Overall, if you're coming for the location and the view, these minor inconveniences are bearable. It's 2026 already; who doesn't have multiple phones, iPads, and computers? I hope they relax the Wi-Fi device limit. It wins on location and views, but loses on service details.

We recently stayed one night at Westgate Resort and Casino (April 4-5 2026) and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were very accommodating and made sure our request for a room facing the Sphere was granted, which we really appreciated. However, there was one downside during our stay. While taking a shower, we noticed mold in the shower area, which was quite concerning and took away from the otherwise comfortable experience. We hope the management can address this issue, as the service and location were great.

We were assigned a room with a view of the Sphere, which my kids absolutely loved! It was clean and odor-free, and the air conditioning was very comfortable. A special note: do NOT touch anything in the minibar. It's not about whether you eat it or not, but if you pick something up for over 60 seconds, even if you put it back, you'll be charged. The minibar prices are extremely expensive!

I was a little worried when I exited the freeway and immediately found myself driving through a large homeless encampment. However, it was confined to that one block. The hotel itself does not have homeless hanging outside or milling around. There is a parking garage, but if your vehicle is taller than 68” you won’t be able to use it. Instead, you’ll have to park in the immediate adjacent covered spaces (none available when we got there at 10:00); but there’s another outdoor lot that was never full on the other side of the hotel- accessible by foot by either walking through the casino or outside about ½ block. Your hotel room key will get you in and out of the outdoor lots and garage. Hotel staff and security are very nice and helpful. The hotel was very clean, but I have asthma so walking through the smokey casino was difficult. I forgot that Vegas is still stuck in the 70’s when it comes to indoor smoking. We had a room on the 9th floor. There are 4 good sized elevators that arrive quickly and they are clean and don’t smell. Our room was clean, but no coffee maker and no microwave. There is a small mini fridge- really small. There’s a hairdryer on the wall by the sink. Adequate water pressure in the shower. Enough counter space on both sides of the sink for bathroom items. Shower has soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers- I forgot to let management know that the conditioner was pretty much jammed, but I was able to get some out with a lot of pumping. Queen beds were comfortable. Very thin “blanket” so if you’re with someone who cranks the AC up, you’ll need a better blanket. The AC unit was a bit loud but I usually have white noise playing to get to sleep so it was good for me. Our room overlooked the freeway and industrial area so we did have freeway noise- again not an issue for me. I liked the shutters instead of drapes. Floors could do away with the carpeting in the rooms. We didn’t watch any television but there is one. Surrounding area: Mob Museum is across the street. So is Fremont Street which has some of the oldest hotels and Binions where you can take a photo with a stack of money- I think it’s 1 million dollars. The California Hotel across the street caters to Hawaiians. You’ll find great Hawaiian food there. They also have the pool for Main Street use- can’t comment because I didn’t use it. What I learned today when we headed home is that there’s a Costco (needed gas) 5 minutes away & the escape rooms that my friend said we should check out (we didn’t have time). There is a fantastic breakfast place 2 blocks down that is always busy. Hash House. If it’s packed, go to the bar to order takeout. Takes 15 minutes and you can grab a table in the food court 100 feet away.

I loved everything about the hotel. They had everything I needed and it was nice getting a coffee right off the elevator in the morning. Everything was clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would definitely come again 10 out of 10 thank you.

This hotel was very spacious and felt luxurious. Wi-Fi was available for a fee. There was also free Wi-Fi, but the connection was poor. It was a shame that the signal was hard to connect to. It was a very good hotel overall.

This hotel is super nice. So fancy and well maintained. It suits, with superb sofa living zone. I like the bathroom also, nice equipment. Very nice food in lobby. Nice in every aspects. Just have to note that it is a bit far from the Main Street and will take 50 minutes walk to the convention center of Las Vegas. However, it deserves a good rate. If you have a car then it’s very convenient. Oh, it’s 5 minutes walk to bus stop to take a bus. That’s good enough.

My husband and I came to Hilton Lake Las Vegas to spend our 7th wedding anniversary. Check in went very smoothly. Shortly after our check in we received a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. It was a very welcoming surprise which we genuinely appreciated. We had booked a couples massage at their spa and were very pleased with their services. It was quite relaxing and exactly what we needed! Our room was very clean and quiet. We ordered in room service for breakfast and the food was very much to our liking! We’ve stayed at this resort several times prior and have always been pleased with our stay there. We will definitely be back!

The Orleans Hotel & Casino

Orleans is an off strip vegas hotel that is currently going through some much needed renovations. They are marketing mobile checkin and mobile room key both of which did not work. The note said I would need to sync my reservation with my Boyd rewards card which the front desk supposed didn't my n request but nothing showed up in the app. The room b itself was comfortable but lacked refrigerator and microwave although most Vegas rooms do. At the prices published online they all should. Lack of TV channels was somewhat problematic when trying to escape the casino. The on-site movie theater and bowling alley did help but if course cost more. The hotel used to provide some coupons to use around the premises during your stay but I did not receive any this stay. I did enjoy Balliwick and Ondori during my stay and found them good and not too pricey. The casino lacks some of the newer slot machines and this trip they seemed to be very tight. Overall the stay was fun.
