Nikko Station Hotel Building2 ★★★

📍 Matsubarachō, 17-4, Nikko

"Good location, but basic amenities. The hotel is very close to the train station and has a convenient supermarket nearby. A three-day stay was the perfect amount of time here to visit Nikko. However, the room is quite small, and the breakfast only includes basic options."

📍 1300 Kamihatsuishimachi, Nikko

"This was a truly lovely hotel with a wonderful atmosphere. Every corner was picturesque. I highly recommend joining the guided tour of the building. The entire hotel is well-heated, so light clothing is perfectly fine. The food was delicious too. My only minor disappointment was the lack of a hot spring or a large public bath."

Nikko Station Hotel Classic

Nikko Station Hotel Classic ★★★

📍 3-1 Aioicho, Nikko

"Location: Fantastic! Both train stations and the bus terminal are within sight, making transportation incredibly convenient. There's a large supermarket about 600-700 meters away, which is great for groceries. Room: The triple room isn't small, and the beds are comfortably firm. The heating in the room was a bit strong, and a humidifier would have been nice. Amenities: You can pick up various toiletries at the front desk. On the first floor, there's a self-service coffee and tea bar, which is lovely for relaxing with a drink and enjoying the view after a day out. The hot spring has both indoor and outdoor pools, but there are only five showers. If you go during off-peak hours, it's not crowded. The large public bath only has a hairdryer, no lotions or anything else. Breakfast: The menu changes daily. While not super extensive, the overall quality is excellent. The Japanese curry rice is delicious, and the bread is also good."

📍 790 Imaichi, Nikko

"Great accommodation handy to train station with a Lawsons across the intersection and a 712 just up the road. Also within walking distance to a full supermarket. Some 20 kilometers to the national park and waterfalls."

Fairfield by Marriott Tochigi Nikko

Fairfield by Marriott Tochigi Nikko ★★★

📍 1541-3 Tokorono, Nikko

"Pleasant stay. Hotel is kind of near top of the hill. There’s a pantry by the lobby and also a dining table. Coffee bean machine which is great. There is no restaurant for breakfast. Have to use coupon to redeem breakfast from reception. Japanese breakfast, cold. But there is a food truck outside the hotel which is convenient for hot breakfast like toast. So far room is cozy and water shower pressure is good. Some stains on the wall in the toilet."

Nikko Hoshino Yado

📍 1115 Kamihatsuishimachi, Nikko

"Booked for one night after looking at the nicely taken pics from the hotel. Do note that this is a traditional Ryokan without shower in the room. Very old building. Walls are slightly mouldy and dusty. Room didn't feel clean. The breakfast included a spread of 6-7 dishes. Salmon sashimi was included as well but had bones. Overall didn't feel that it was worth $530 per night."

Nikko Chuzenji-ko Onsen Hotel Hana-An Hotels in Nikko

Nikko Chuzenji-ko Onsen Hotel Hana-An

"We passed through Irohazaka and headed to Lake Chuzenji. We stayed at a small hotel nestled near the torii gate. The compact twin room was very practical and comfortable. We had the indoor and outdoor baths almost exclusively to ourselves, making for a luxurious soak. The outdoor bath was a milky white with a sulfurous scent, while the indoor bath was a gentle, colorless, transparent bath. The cool outdoor air naturally made us want to soak for a long time... Dinner was kaiseki style. Everything was delicious, even the rice used for the new year's rice, and we were very satisfied! The location was great, and we would definitely like to stay here again."

Nikko Toshogu Koyoen Hotels in Nikko

Nikko Toshogu Koyoen

"We were glad to stay at Nikko Toshogu Koyoen. Firstly, the service was pleasant and warm-hearted. Our Japanese-style room reservation (dinner + breakfast) was comprised of Kaiseki dinner either! (There was no notice about such a nice option when we booked the room.) The price for one night was quite reasonable (compared to other ryokans nearby). Moreover, it was the only onsen within 5 bus stops from Tobu-Nikko station (really convenient, if compared to ryokans in Kinugawa which takes one hour by train). You are also able to apply for ryokan's transfer (We were not told about the option in advance, so we used transfer the next day to get from the ryuokan to Tobu-Nikko station.) You might get the impression that the hotel is stuck in the 80s, but the service, Kaiseki, cozy rooms, and the onsen make you forget all about it."

Fufu Nikko Hotels in Nikko

Fufu Nikko

"Fufu Nikko is a true experience of the best of Japan as to people, ambience, culture and food. From the moment you arrive you are pampered with a most gracious staff and the meals are something you would have to go out of your way to enjoy elsewhere. Each spacious room has its own Onsen as well as large ones for the public. We are on our way to another Fufu resort as we loved our experience here so much."

Kinugawa Onsen Hotel Hotels in Nikko

Kinugawa Onsen Hotel

"Not very accessible as we need to connect 2 trains from Tobu-Nikko to the Kinagawaonsen station. In addition have to take a taxi to the Onsen Hotel. Walking takes about 20 minutes which is not advisable in the winter season."

Nikko Tokinoyuu Hotels in Nikko

Nikko Tokinoyuu

"The main advantages of this hotel are its traditional ryokan-style atmosphere, the on-site hot spring baths, and its convenient location. Several tourist attractions and bus stops are within walking distance, and the room rates are reasonable. However, the service was extremely disappointing. On the day of check-out, the hotel only allowed luggage storage until 12:00 PM. After check-out, guests were not permitted to use any of the hotel’s facilities, including the restroom. Instead, we were told to use the public restroom next door. Because of the poor customer service and lack of flexibility, I would not recommend staying here."

Nikko Station Hotel Building2 ★★★
"Choosing this hotel for our trip to Nikko was a great decision. The price was perfect for someone on a regular budget. The hotel was clean, and its location near Tobu Nikko Station was fantastic, about 300 meters if you follow the right navigation. My navigation kept changing directions after I got off the train, so I had to ask a local shop owner for directions, and then it was easy to find. Just walk a few steps down the small road past the post office, and you're there. The hotel offers free breakfast to all guests, and it's quite good! The room was clean, and the view from the window was lovely, with mountains and clouds, very picturesque! There's also a large supermarket across the street where you can buy delicious and reasonably priced sashimi."

"The owner was incredibly welcoming, offering great tips on famous tourist spots and how to get around. The room was spacious and cozy, ensuring we had a wonderful night's sleep. The morning view from the window was absolutely beautiful. Its proximity to the train station made getting around super convenient and easy to find. The bathroom was also spacious and clean. She even treated us to a delicious and hearty breakfast and gave us a lucky crane charm. I'll truly miss her thoughtful hospitality! 🥰🫶"

Hotel Casual Euro-Nikko's Inn with Its Own Natural Hot Spring ★★★
"The hotel is a 20-25 minute uphill walk from the station, but they offer a complimentary shuttle service every morning and afternoon. To use it, just go to the Classic Hotel reception across from the station and tell them your reservation name; they'll arrange for the hotel shuttle to pick you up (shuttle times are 15:15, 16:15, 17:15, and 18:15). Breakfast is American style, with Japanese curry and soup. The coffee is pre-brewed and kept in a thermos, and you'll need to ask the staff for hot milk. Waking up and soaking in the wooden onsen tub on the terrace every day was incredibly relaxing."
