Nikko Kanaya Hotel
"This was a charming hotel which had served Einstein and Helen Keller! Hotel is situated right next to the Shinkyou Bridge and within walking distance to the Toshogu Shrine. I enjoyed my stay there."
The Pageant
"The hotel locates nearby Nikko, the world herritage area, just 4 km. from the hotel. Our room is very big, clean, and good maintained. There are 5-6 private onsen rooms, available and enough for guests. The hotel owner gave us warm welcome and services with very reasonable price. Recommend for the one who wants to stay and travel in Nikko!!"
Nikko Station Hotel Classic
"Convenient place. It’s just a 5min walk from the Tobu Nikko station (the station you would arrive in if you rode over from Asakusa). It’s a premium stay that has a public bath. In the rooms you have even lotions and face washes and overall the hotel feels very new. The breakfast that comes with the stay is decent. Had vege curry with rice, hard boiled eggs, salad, bread with jam, fresh milk. It’s very near the bus station that takes you to most sightseeing areas in Nikko. You should find out about their busses at the tourist information center because the busses are not registered in Google maps!"
Fairfield by Marriott Tochigi Nikko
"Looks like a brand new hotel! You can use the kitchen on the ground floor - coffee machine, oven, micro wave, ice, and a table to eat. Just didn’t like the bathing area with see through glass door."
Nikko Senhime Monogatari
"Very good and friendly service from the hotel staff. Good hot spring bath with both internal bath and external open air bath. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast with many dishes. Wonderful view of the forest, mountains and river from my room."
Nikko Station Hotel Building2
"Choosing this hotel for our trip to Nikko was a great decision. The price was perfect for someone on a regular budget. The hotel was clean, and its location near Tobu Nikko Station was fantastic, about 300 meters if you follow the right navigation. My navigation kept changing directions after I got off the train, so I had to ask a local shop owner for directions, and then it was easy to find. Just walk a few steps down the small road past the post office, and you're there. The hotel offers free breakfast to all guests, and it's quite good! The room was clean, and the view from the window was lovely, with mountains and clouds, very picturesque! There's also a large supermarket across the street where you can buy delicious and reasonably priced sashimi."
Koduchi No Yado Tsurukamedaikichi
"Nice hot spring hotel, but the facilities are a bit old, but it is very close to the attractions and is quite reliable"
Nikko onsen-Hotel Kosho
Rakuten STAY Nikko Hoden
"Do not ever stay in this hotel! I will give 0 star if 0 is available. 1stly, the hotel is far from station and the surroundings are in pitch dark if you check in abit later or go out to eat dinner. There is practically nothing in the vicinity. Super super unsafe. Secondly, the check-in is a big joke. Tried the given PIN number, didn’t work. Had to call the hotel hotline, got the PIN number, also didn’t work. And they expect us to stand there in pitch dark to wait to retry again. Seeing how unsafe the vicinity is, we gave up n went to check in another hotel, Nikko Park Lodge Hotel - abit old but just opposite the station, so convenient. Sorry but Rakuten stay is huge no no."

The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko
"The best ritz carlton in Japan!"
Chuzenji Kanaya Hotel
"A nice place to relax and enjoy your vacation. Good hot spring and comfortable environment."
Asaya
"Small room, old style onsen hotel, nice staff, very good quality food dinner buffet and breakfast, free easy parking."
Shelter Garden Nikko
"Most tourists who go to Nikko either come back and forth on the same day or stay in a hot spring hotel. If you have had enough of hot springs, then try this one. It is definitely a rare designer hotel in Japan, very special! Unlike the Ritz by Lake Chuzenji, where there are many tourists outside the window, here you live in a natural park, and there are only continuous mountains, green trees, waterfalls and streams outside the window. It is so beautiful and quiet. The dinner is Michelin-level French food, exquisite and delicious, and the wine selection is also good. It is strongly recommended to include a meal. It is very close to the train station, and it takes less than ten minutes to get there by taxi for 1,600 yen. The hotel has three free shuttle buses to the station in the morning. The employees have multiple roles. The designer is also the owner, the restaurant DJ, the waiter, and the driver. If there is anything, everyone shares it together. Whoever is free will do it. This kind of team feeling is very good. There is also a resident painter. You eat here and he paints there. He creates a work every night. It's wonderful."
Hoshino Resorts KAI Kinugawa
"The hotel is nestled along a small, tree-lined path, just ahead. Though tiny, the lush greenery, especially in the light rain, creates a serene and elegant natural ambiance. It's incredibly soothing, perfect for unwinding, zoning out, or simply sitting in quiet contemplation."
Itoen Hotel New Sakura
"Big room and nice service for dinner and breakfast. The location near from edo wondeland, around 15 minutes"
Ashionoyado Kajika
Kinugawa Grand Hotel Yume No Toki
"Compared with the hotels I stayed at before, no one helped with luggage, and there was no moisturizing lotion in the room. You can drink the tap water directly, but the hot water bottle is too big to reach in. There was no ice water prepared in the room. Maybe it was because I was more satisfied with the previous stay and the equipment was more complete, but it seemed a little shabby here. The food was okay. Some of the waiters can also speak Chinese. There are indoor and outdoor hot springs to choose from , but if I come again, I will probably try somewhere else."
Nikko Hoshino Yado
"we really enjoyed the breakfast - a must have here. cute garden and the location is perfect, close to the temple."
Nikko Chuzenji-ko Onsen Hotel Hana-An
"Great hot spring hotel, the food is very unique and the staff is very friendly."
Hotel Ootaki
"Walk distance from the Kinugaoka station. But the main bridge is the worst place, it was soooooo cold with huge wind!!! We visited in mid March but the wind was freeezing cold!! Japanese staffs were sort of…a little unique than the other hotels I visited.. they are not that much informative, but ask a lot of questions, they are happy to answer. Spacious room, lobby area is nice to chill out with Nama beer, hot spring was amazingly clean and calming. They offer to visit Plaza hotel hot spring which I don’t recommend, it was very dirtly(I could see the green moss in the main bath. Ceiling with covered with black fungus yikes.)"
Yutorelo Nikko
"Free alcohol and nice staff. Location not great"
Fufu Nikko
"Just enjoyed an exceptional first stay at FUFU Nikko with my sister and mum. The service from arrival to departure was wonderful - attentive, considerate and diligent. No request was too much trouble even after I inexplicably mixed up my reservation dates! The rooms were beautifully and simply decorated with every modern convenience you could want during a short stay. Large windows facing out to the forest provides ample natural light, a scenic backdrop and a degree of privacy. Rooms were spacious, inclusive of a living room and provided ample space for the three of us. Each guest receives lounge wear, which you can wear around the hotel, including in the restaurant, outdoor and indoor slippers, night shirt and bath robes. If you need more of something whilst in your room or want fresh items including of the clothing provided, no problem, you can call reception and it will be deposited in a convenient two-way deposit box. This is an excellent feature allowing you to access it from your room without having to open the door and can be collected when convenient. The in-room onsen (private hot spring bath) was beautiful and exactly what we hoped for. It is maintained at a temperature of 42 degrees (and can be cooled) ready to enjoy day or night. The times for pre-booked breakfast and dinner are agreed and provided on handwritten on cards at check in for easy reference. Food and drink options were brilliant. Dinner options were seven course menus and you can choose between Teppanyaki and traditional Japanese. Breakfast was five courses and you can choose between Japanese and “Western”. Breakfast and dinners are served in private dining rooms so you able to enjoy peacefully with just your guests. My sister has several dietary requirements and they took great care in understanding these and preparing delicious alternatives for her. Lunch is not provided and the in-dining room menu is limited, so if you are not going into town during the day where there are lots of food options, we would recommend packing some snacks. However breakfast and dinner are so filling! In addition you can be served a selection of free drinks from 16:30-19:30 each night including premium options. We enjoyed the glasses of champagne by the lounge fire before dinner each night. All in all, I would urge anyone considering to go ahead and book. You will not be disappointed. We plan to go back!"
Okunoin Hotel Tokugawa
"Service is perfect and took care of everything well. Location wise not so convenient and better for self driving, otherwise cannot go anywhere nearby. One point should improve is the check out time is 10:30AM, which is way earlier than most hotel and may cause some inconvenience for some travelers."
Nikko Toshogu Koyoen
"Great breakfast and dinner. Loved the onsen as well."
Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Hotel Kinugawa Gyoen
"The hotel is located next to the main onsen street, about a 10-minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station, but it's still acceptable. We stayed on the 8th floor, which offered a beautiful river view. Although the hotel is a bit old, it's spacious and you can feel its former glory. The outdoor onsen was small, but the view of Kinugawa was wonderful. The front desk staff were also very friendly. The buffet dinner was particularly noteworthy—it was incredibly abundant, and you could even make your own sushi-yaki! We only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable, except for a slight urine smell in the bathroom. Otherwise, it was quite nice."
