Nikko Station Hotel Building2 ★★★
"The hotel is great and very convenient, just a two or three-minute walk to the JR station. On the first day, I got bitten by mountain leeches while visiting the World Heritage temple complex. Thankfully, the front desk gave me medicine to apply and bandages to stop the bleeding. I'm very grateful for the hotel's help. On the second day, you can walk to Chuzenji Onsen and climb Mount Nantai, which takes about 6 hours round trip. It's the third-highest mountain in the Kanto region, so if you enjoy hiking, you should definitely give it a try."
Nikko Kanaya Hotel ★★★★★
"Not only did we receive excellent service during our stay, but their flexibility in accommodating our individual requests truly set them apart from other hotels – it was a world of difference. Highly recommend."
Nikko Station Hotel Classic ★★★
"This hotel is perfectly located right next to Tobu Nikko Station, just a short walk away, making it ideal for exploring the World Heritage sites. It's a large hotel with many rooms and excellent hygiene. The public onsen area is cozy and comfortable. The front desk conveniently provides toiletries, toothbrushes, and basic skincare sets. The simple Western-style breakfast is refreshing, and I really love this hotel. The sushi restaurant and bakery next to the hotel are also fantastic!"
Nikko Stay House Arai ★★
"Walking distance from the train station. There's a 7-Eleven behind it, and a store similar to Walmart."
Fairfield by Marriott Tochigi Nikko ★★★
"Pleasant stay. Hotel is kind of near top of the hill. There’s a pantry by the lobby and also a dining table. Coffee bean machine which is great. There is no restaurant for breakfast. Have to use coupon to redeem breakfast from reception. Japanese breakfast, cold. But there is a food truck outside the hotel which is convenient for hot breakfast like toast. So far room is cozy and water shower pressure is good. Some stains on the wall in the toilet."
Chuzenji Pension ★★★
"We enjoyed very much staying at the pension. It was situated close to the bus station and with beautiful scenery of the lake. The host were very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the dinner very much. It was a wonderful experience staying in the pension."
Nikko Senhime Monogatari ★★★★
"While we opted for a room-only plan this time, we would absolutely love to book a stay with breakfast and dinner included on our next visit. Despite it being a room-only booking, the location was superb, and our entire family had a truly wonderful time. Thank you very much."
Hotel Ootaki ★★★
"Beautiful tasteful high ceiling public bath . Very relaxing when talking the bath while facing a large forest. The Japanese-style rooms are clean and the bedding is comfortable. The price is very reasonable."
Hotel Casual Euro-Nikko's Inn with Its Own Natural Hot Spring ★★★
"The facilities are a bit old, the rooms aren't small, but the shower room is tiny; the hot spring area is nice."

Shelter Garden Nikko
"The stay was wonderful. The hotel's design and attention to detail were meticulously crafted. The large windows in the room offered a breathtaking view of the green mountains, and the pajamas were very comfortable. The designer explained the hotel's construction and design philosophy. He thoughtfully customized my dinner ingredients, prepared decaffeinated tea, and even provided a blanket during dinner. What a thoughtful touch! I'd definitely bring my family back to this hotel in the winter!"
Asaya
"The hotel service was great, the room was very spacious and clean, and the food was delicious."
The Ritz-Carlton, Nikko
"During the recent three-day autumn foliage season, rooms in Nikko were extremely difficult to book, especially balcony rooms with views of Nantaiyama and Chuzenji Lake. This time, I checked in at noon and requested an upgrade to a lake view room, and luckily, one became available on the 5th floor, the top floor. The balcony of the room offered a breathtaking lake view! Although the price was high, it was truly amazing! Environment: Prime location near Chuzenji Lake, with its own dedicated station. The pier, lakeside, and Kegon Falls are all within walking distance. Service: Top-notch. From check-in to introductions, turndown service, and breakfast the next day, the staff were impeccably at home! They now offer twice-daily shuttle service from Nikko Station. Truly fantastic! Facilities: Complete with all amenities, including a private onsen (hot spring), and state-of-the-art bathing and skincare facilities. Cleanliness: Spotless, and the public areas are impeccably beautiful. Staying here is like living inside an oil painting, except for the price. But this is just one example! The purpose of making money is to achieve Ritz-Carlton freedom."
Kanaya Hotel Kinugawa
"I was able to check in smoothly with valet parking, and checked in while enjoying welcome tea in the open lounge. The room was lovely, and I especially enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the balcony and enjoying the view of the Kinugawa River and the cool autumn air. The food was delicious, and it was nice to see a selection of local Tochigi sake. Breakfast was also great. The young and cute staff member who showed me around was also very kind. The only thing I noticed was that the shampoo and soap in the bath were not very good, so next time I'll bring my favorite ones with me."
Hoshino Resorts KAI Kinugawa
"This is my first time writing a bad review. We stayed at Kinugawa Hotel during the ***** New Year holiday. Our family of three arrived around 7 pm on the 29th of the ***** year. The check-in staff were extremely slow and inflexible. Only after we told her it was ***** New Year did she say she would come to our room to check us in later. They brought an extra bed for our ten-year-old child, but it was a baby bed. Breakfast and dinner were served at the hotel every day, and they were probably the worst breakfasts and dinners I've ever had. According to other reviews, it might be from a central kitchen. They also called us every day to confirm what time we would be eating, demanding that we be on time. If we were even half an hour late, they would call us to say that we had canceled and that they wouldn't refund us. Those things were alright, but we were late in the first place. When checking out, we were never told by the staff that we had to leave the room before midnight. Just after midnight, while we were packing our luggage, the hotel called to urge us to leave, and then called every five minutes. Even worse, ten minutes later, someone knocked on the door and tried to open it a second time. We opened the door to show them we were closing our luggage, but the hotel kept calling. The pressure was unprecedented. Finally, around 12:20, the three of us, still without our shoes on, awkwardly left the room. From the room to the lobby and then to the cable car station, no staff member ever helped us with our luggage; perhaps they were all busy urging guests to leave. Unless you're always punctual, never late, and don't mind pre-prepared meals on vacation, this is a good option. The food here is extremely bad. If you've really been ripped off, I suggest buying instant noodles from the vending machine behind the hotel. It was a nightmare; the difference between it and Hoshinoya was like night and day. We also went to the Ritz-Carlton Nikko this time, and compared to Kinugawa, the service was vastly different, although the price difference wasn't that significant."
Itoen Hotel New Sakura
"The accommodation was great! It's not too far from the station. The weather was nice in the morning. The breakfast was a buffet, there's an onsen (hot spring bath), private bathrooms, and various activities. The staff provided excellent service. I'll definitely stay here again if I have the chance."
Nikko Tokinoyuu
"The main advantages of this hotel are its traditional ryokan-style atmosphere, the on-site hot spring baths, and its convenient location. Several tourist attractions and bus stops are within walking distance, and the room rates are reasonable. However, the service was extremely disappointing. On the day of check-out, the hotel only allowed luggage storage until 12:00 PM. After check-out, guests were not permitted to use any of the hotel’s facilities, including the restroom. Instead, we were told to use the public restroom next door. Because of the poor customer service and lack of flexibility, I would not recommend staying here."
Kamenoi Hotel Okunikko
"The hospitality was great, and I had a pleasant stay."
Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Kinugawa Kanko Hotel
"The all-inclusive package was the best! 👍 I used it multiple times whenever I wanted. There were so many food options, I was spoiled for choice, haha. The sashimi was also fresh and delicious."
Fufu Nikko
"Similar to the one in Karuizawa, the guest rooms are huge, with a full-length glass window offering a view of the forest, making you feel like you're staying in a treehouse. 🍣 Dining: Continuing FuFu's tradition, the food uses fresh local ingredients, resulting in healthy and delicious meals. Breakfast options include Japanese and Western styles, and dinner options include kaiseki and teppanyaki. ♨️ Onsen: In addition to private onsen in the rooms, there's a large onsen! Separate times are available for men and women. Going at 9 PM, you can have the entire large bath to yourself, so quiet you can only hear the wind. 💡 Service: During meals, they proactively inquire about your itinerary, offering route suggestions and practical tips—thoughtful and just right. [Location: Quite close to Rinnoji Temple, Shinbashi Bridge, and Toshogu Shrine, all within walking distance.]"
Okunoin Hotel Tokugawa
"The facilities, services, environment, and food are all very good."
TAOYA Nikko Kirifuri
"There are shuttle buses from Tobu Nikko Station and Jr Nikko Station every hour. It feels quite convenient. It takes about 20 minutes to drive from the station to the hotel. The hotel is in the mountains, the environment and air are very good. Staying for 1 night and 2 nights, we took the shuttle bus at 4 o'clock and arrived at the hotel at around 5 o'clock. It was the second batch's turn for dinner at around 7 o'clock. We couldn't change the time, so we waited until we were hungry. Dinner is still very rich, with a variety of good dishes, and the steak is recommended. There are also a variety of alcoholic beverages. Breakfast was also good. The hot spring is on the top floor, the water is very good, and there is an outdoor hot spring. You can soak in the hot spring and enjoy the night, moonlight or starry sky. The hotel room is also large and overall very good. Disadvantages: The pillows are not very comfortable and a bit hard. In addition, the sink and table are relatively low in design, making them not very convenient to use."
Hatago Nagomi
"This is a small in front of the lake. The bus ride from the Tobu Nikko station was wonderful. It took 45 minutes and the ride is to climb the mountain. So exciting. There was a bus stop in front of the hotel. Otherwise you should walk for ten minutes from the bus terminal. The room was cozy and there was a massage chair in the room. As soon as we arrived in the hotel, we rushed to the ferry terminal to take the last boat. The dinner and next morning breakfast are wonderful. Please don’t expect to much about onsen because it is a small hotel with indoor and outdoor hot pools. The hotel offers free coffee and tea the people staying in the hotel."
Hotel Famitic Nikko Station
"Stayed here 1 night, we had great discount for bus voucher due to staying here (just showed reservation on the bus ticket counter). The location is good and room was ok"
Nikko Toshogu Koyoen
"Great breakfast and dinner. Loved the onsen as well."
Hotel Natural Garden Nikko
"The environment is quiet, there is a bus stop directly at the door, and the hot springs are comfortable. It's just that the shops in Nikko close too early. They all close after 6 o'clock. The rest of the time can only be spent in the hotel. There is a convenience store a few minutes away."
