I have so many complaints – this is my first time writing a negative review for a hotel. For what's supposed to be a rather upscale establishment, many basic facilities and services were severely lacking, which was truly disappointing. Here are the specifics: 1. **No Mini-Fridge in the Room:** This is the first hotel I've ever stayed at where the room didn't have a mini-fridge, which is absolutely ridiculous. We had no place to store our own beverages. 2. **Lack of Service for Drinkware:** We wanted to have a drink in the evening. Upon check-in, the front desk told us to simply call for wine glasses. We called at 8 PM, only to be informed it was too late and they were closed. We were given 4 disposable plastic cups instead, which really dampened the experience. 3. **Incomplete Toiletries:** There was no conditioner among the toiletries provided. They couldn't even provide the most basic amenities. 4. **Self-Service for Takeout:** We had to pick up our own takeout. The reason given was that there was only one staff member on duty at night, and they didn't have the manpower to bring it up. This is clearly an issue with the hotel's staffing arrangements. It's 2025, perhaps consider robot delivery! The only positive thing I can say is that the front desk thoughtfully upgraded us to a room with a better view for fireworks during check-in. However, this single positive doesn't make up for the numerous drawbacks. I sincerely hope the hotel can improve in the areas mentioned above.

The hotel is in Shuyuan Village in Pudong. With many scenic spots nearby, it is just 3km away from Lin-gang Avenue Station of Shanghai Metro Line 16and 28km from Pudong International Airport. We offer 80 elegant rooms, a gym, a restaurant and meeting rooms. It is an excellent destination for leisure travel.

A drive to Dishui Lake and the Duoyun Bookstore takes approximately 5 minutes; the China Maritime Museum is about a 10-minute drive away; the Shanghai Astronomy Museum can be reached in roughly 15 minutes by car. Both Yaoxue Ice and Snow World and Nanhui Seaside Park are accessible within an estimated 15-minute drive. The Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park requires about 18 minutes’ drive. The Shanghai Wild Animal Park and Shanghai Disneyland are approximately 45-minute drive, while the Shanghai Pudong International Airport is around 40-minute drive from the hotel.

Generally speaking, the price/performance ratio is relatively high, and you can try Haichang again. But from the parking lot to the lobby, there is indeed a smell of decoration... just as rumored. The layout of the front desk seemed stingy. When I checked out, the entire front desk was gone and decoration started again, haha. The shuttle schedule is okay, but it fills up easily. For breakfast at the Penguin Hotel opposite, you have to wait in line. There are not many kinds of food, and the service is okay. It was also good to be able to sit next to the penguins later. The children's playground is not bad. You get a big penguin for free when you check in, which is quite nice.

A great new option for a Dishui Lake getaway. It's a large hotel with two buildings, and the lakefront building offers a better view. The rooms are large, with high ceilings and a fresh, clean style. The bedding is comfortable, and the lighting is well-designed. The balcony rooms are recommended. We booked a Deluxe Boutique Lake View Balcony Room, with windows on both sides, offering a stunning view of the lake. A chair on the balcony would have been even better. The private walk-in closet is large, with a bathtub and shower integrated, and a small balcony. However, some of the decor is a bit rough, with some glue delamination, and I'm not sure why the chairs have so many scratches. The rooftop pool is large and heated. Guests can enjoy a drink in the lobby bar. Welcome fruit is also available here. The B2 parking lot is exclusively for hotel guests, with an elevator directly to the lobby, and the directions are clear. Breakfast includes a noodle stand and an egg stand, but the selection is limited. The lamb chops were a surprise, but other than that, the options are limited, and the non-vegetarian options are a bit too typical. Having just opened, it's clear the management is taking it seriously. Management is constantly patrolling every area, and all the staff are enthusiastic and hardworking, including the housekeepers, restaurant staff, front desk staff, lobby staff, and the staff on the guest rooms floor. The weekday prices are very good value, but you'll have to pay a premium during holidays.

This family room is a great option for a family of four. The two children shared bunk beds, while the two adults each had a single bed, allowing them to stay out of each other's way. The hotel also has a children's playground, which the kids loved. If you're taking your children to the planetarium, the Maritime Museum, or something like that, this hotel is reasonably priced compared to other budget hotels nearby, so I recommend it. If you're heading to Haichang Ocean Park, consider the Haichang Ocean Resort Hotel for convenience, and this one for value.
