Shilin Stone Forest - Kunming, Yunnan

You can’t come to Kunming without seeing this must-see natural wonder about an hour’s drive out of Kunming city. Try for the best (not raining) weather possible as the best parts of it would be too dangerous to explore if wet - even in the best conditions that we had, we were very careful! You need to be a bit adventurous for the best parts :) No need to book a tour, you can easily didi/taxi out there, buy tickets and wander/climb around on your own. Allow for at least 2-3 hours out there, it’s a big area worth the time exploring. You could easily spend a full day out there - take a picnic with you! Recommend buying the little bus ticket to take you from ticket office to the actual park, which I think you can then also use for a shuttle within the park although we walked all through it.
