The rooms (actually a 6-person room) and common areas were quite spacious. There was a TV in the lobby, as well as snacks like sunflower seeds and instant noodles/drinks for sale, which was very convenient as you didn't have to go out to buy anything. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making for a comfortable stay. The bathroom was a bit small, and because I was worried about altitude sickness, I didn't shower or use it for either of my two nights. A 3-day, 2-night trip to the Pamir Plateau would allow ample time to acclimatize, and the itinerary was quite relaxed. I definitely want to visit sometime!
I was hesitant before booking this place because it's far from the city center but close to the train station. However, taxis in Yining are incredibly easy to hail and super cheap! (I usually take public transport whenever possible, but Xinjiang, apart from Urumqi's Line 1, doesn't have a subway, and buses are hard to wait for, though you can if you're patient. This Backpacker's Ten Years hostel is also close to a bus stop.) I don't know if I was just lucky, but all seven or eight times I took a taxi, it was a female driver, and the cars all smelled great – it made the whole experience fantastic. The exterior of this Backpacker's Ten Years hostel is designed like a 'Red Dust Inn' (a style of ancient Chinese inn). The common areas are incredibly spacious, with billiards, computers, projection screens, TVs, and a pair of super friendly cats. The bed was enormous, I'd say 1.5m (I'm not sure if that's exact, but I was genuinely shocked when I first saw it). It was off-season, and I booked a 10-bed dorm. The front desk lady said if the bottom bunks in the 10-bed dorm were full, she'd put me in a bottom bunk in an 8-bed dorm, which was a nice gesture. The bathroom had plenty of hooks and a waterproof curtain, which was great. I didn't wash any large items of clothing since it was winter, so I can't comment on the drying area.
Nice quiet hostel where it is easy to relax. The bed is comfy, no gas to cook but there is hot water a microwave and a few other appliances you can use. It's a bit away from the ancient city but there are plenty of other shopping streets nearby. I left my bike outside the door because it's a very safe area. There were some very friendly people in the hostel who helped me navigate the Chinese way of doing things. It's really good value staying here, would recommend. Message them if you have difficult finding the place.
A hotel with good value for money. The rooms are fully equipped and spacious and bright. Although it faces the street, the windows are well soundproofed and basically do not affect rest. There are also many places to eat downstairs, but the parking space is a little tight, so you have to go early.
Clean and sanitary, warm service, cost-effective, complete facilities, convenient transportation and easy to find, towels and bath towels are individually packaged and safe to use, often stay here, recommended, many places to eat downstairs
I don't recommend staying in a capsule room. There are usually more men in mixed-gender rooms, and smoking and drinking are the norm. Most Uyghur **zang smoke. If there are any issues, the Han Chinese owner will just tell them off, but won't change rooms. He'll just make excuses, saying there aren't enough women staying in capsule rooms, and I can't leave the room empty. If you don't care about female customers, why mix genders? 😂 What does it have to do with me whether you have a room available or not? My stay was terrible. I couldn't get a room with more women, no smoke, and a quieter room. The beautiful Uyghur front desk clerk said I checked in at noon and couldn't change. It was hilarious. There weren't any Uyghur guys drinking, smoking, or singing shirtless at noon. 😂 If you want good service, don't consider this place.

Good hotel, nice views out of a dirty window. But what really bother me, they told me my room was ”booked” and they put me in a lower room type without any compensation. So yeha ... thats why I reduce points. Also really far from any city center, if you plan stay longer, find another hotel.

Could not recommend this hostel enough! The owner and staff were extraordinary kindhearted and went above and beyond to show us their hospitality and culture. It was our first day in china and they introduced us to their local cuisine and helped us get accustomed to the place, showing us around the beautiful town centre. The rooms themselves were lovely and heated with spacious beds that had privacy via a well fitted curtain. I slept for 12 hours in total, they were so comfortable! This was also due to the late check out of 2 o clock, a definite plus! The hostel was very well equipped with a kitchen, washing machine, decorated communal area and a beautiful glass library room with lots of books. This room was one of my favourites with lots of natural light and lovely heat for a cold march! The hostel was well situated with a convenience store a few meters walk and tourist attractions nearby! I’d really recommend to all travellers especially those whose first time it is in china! Yining and this hostel and staff offer so much!
We stayed for one night at this hotel. They provide airport shuttle service. Having had some bad experience in Shanghai when it comes to staying at hotels near airport, the shuttle service is the main reason that I picked this hotel. And they don't disappoint! The driver came to pick us up in less than 15minutes and they also dropped us off the next day. The room is clean; the size is decent; and the bed is relatively comfortable! Overall, I had good experience staying at this hotel. Recommended for sure! 👌

This stay was fantastic! The receptionist was warm and efficient; check-in took less than 5 minutes, and she even thoughtfully provided information on nearby restaurants and sightseeing routes. The room was clean and tidy, with freshly changed sheets and blankets. The natural light and ventilation were excellent, and you could see the street view just by opening the curtains. The bathroom had plenty of hot water with stable pressure, and the toiletries were of high quality. The hotel breakfast had a wide variety of options, both Chinese and Western, with a full range of hot and cold dishes, and the taste was superb. The location is excellent; the bus stop is just a few minutes' walk away, making getting around incredibly convenient. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in the area!

Wow! What an amazing place to stay and how lucky we were to find it. By far the best place we stayed in China. Mrs. Li (the owner) was so genuinely nice and caring, and we felt like part of the family staying there. One of my favorite things in Kashgar was hanging out with her and her family in the evenings. She always invited us at night to hangout in the common area where she would make us tea and share her fresh and dried fruits with us. She was really good at using a translator app, so we were able to have a good conversation with her through that. She has a great little family. Her son speaks good English and was also very nice. She had a young daughter who also speaks English, but is more shy with it (though she will sing you a Taylor Swift song..she has a great voice). They have 3 cats and the youngest one, little tiger, is just the sweetest and the friendliest cat I have ever met. It was such a good and warm feeling to stay there. We definitely wish we could visit again. A home away from home. And we were treated so generously in more ways than we can write here. Mrs. Li asked us right away if there was anything she could help us with, without us having to ask, which we really appreciated, and she took the time to sit down with us to go over our plans. She let us store our luggage for 3 days and walked us out to help us get a taxi when we departed. While it was the family that made it simply amazing, some might also be interested in the following information. The location is great. On a quiet street. Close to the big mosque which is a good landmark to use to find the area. And of course close to the old city. It's also really close to the biggest supermarket we have found thus far in China (we have to admit it was nice to get a few ”luxuries” from home like cereal and hot chocolate). The guesthouse is cute and has a Central Asian feel. The shower works great and is hot. We were there in the winter, and the room has heat if you needed it. Mrs. Li was able to arrange a driver for us to go to Tashkorgun and the Karakorum Highway, which was super helpful. The place was nice and clean. Thank you so much Mrs. Li! You will be a highlight of our visit to China and will be remembered in our hearts forever. -Travis and Elisha (Colorado, USA) PS: when we get home I'm going to try to write up a bit about our trip on Tripadvisor because I couldn't find anything about Kashgar on trip advisor since covid, and some things have changed, so I thought it might be helpful for fellow travelers, so look for that.
This was an extension stay with this inn. As I find the owner of this Inn was extremely friendly and helpful. She can even plan what are the nice things you should go. Such as the local wedding dinner. You can experience their local culture and how their local wedding entire dinner process. This is very interesting to me.
This time, I chose Zuowang, a newly opened guesthouse by Tingbo, and the stay was excellent. The facilities were top-notch, and the owner clearly put a lot of thought into the guesthouse. The amenities were also very good; they used Dyson hairdryers and humidifiers, and Lelabo toiletries. They even provided hand cream and disinfectant wipes for use when out and about – very thoughtful and attentive. The common areas were beautifully designed, like sitting inside a picture frame, and there were many antique items the owner had collected from various places. The afternoon tea cakes and breakfast were absolutely delicious, almost to the point of being sold! Breakfast also included chicken soup, which was super nice – a warm bowl in winter! Overall, everything was great, except the breakfast portion was just too generous. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Kanas!
Great location in that it is near a lot of bus lines where I can take it into the city area to get to some of the main attractions. Best hostel that I ever stayed at in that they clean the rooms frequently and that it is new and modern. They have a nice lounge room where you can sit down and some of the workers like to play music at night where it livens up the place. Also has another lounge room where you can sit down and do things like using your laptop. The only bad thing I didn't like about being at this hostel which is through no fault of their own was just dealing with these 2 guest that wasn't the most pleasant. One of the guest that was staying there that had this personality where he seemed kinda of stuckup and looks down on other people. I feel like I was not on the same page as him when talking about things. And then there was this baldheaded older guy in the red shirt that is from Taishan in Guangdong province that kept bothering me and asking me if I had taken a shower or wash my clothing and behaves like he looks down on people. He's kind of noisy too where he kind of prys into other people's business a little. And then there was this older baldheaded guy in a red shirt that is from the city of Taishan in Guangdong province that kept bothering me if I had taken a shower or wash my laundry. I was stop bothering me about those things. I'm an adult, not a kid.

Excellent location for solo traveller who prefer to travel by public transport. near 2 mrt stations and brt 1 stop, direct bus to train station. super convenient. large supermarket downstairs. Boss is friendly and helpful. Good room mates during my stay
The owner was incredibly kind, almost to the point of being embarrassing. They helped us store our luggage in advance and even carried our suitcases upstairs during check-in. When we came back in the middle of the night, they even let us use a different room to shower, and they didn't treat us any differently just because we booked a special offer room. Their hospitality really made me feel much more positive about this city. The inn is conveniently located not far from the entrance of Liuxing Street and also close to the bus station, making it very easy for transportation and transfers. This was especially convenient after a long day of sightseeing; being able to walk straight upstairs after strolling down Liuxing Street, even past midnight, was a huge plus. The hallway and room have a nostalgic feel, reminding me of guesthouses from my childhood. The air conditioning and walls, however, are very new. I could tell they take hygiene seriously from the bathroom; the cleaning supplies were very comprehensive.
I had an amazing experience at this hotel. The owner, Tity, was a tour guide in the past and is also a backpacker and motorcyclist, so he provided me with all the information I needed to explore Kashgar as a solo traveler. He is very friendly and a big plus is that he speaks English—something I haven’t found in many other hotels in China. If you’re looking for a super clean, family-oriented hotel with a welcoming atmosphere, you should definitely book here!
