Perfect
CCiky2023Our romantic winter getaway began the moment we stepped into Dino Starry Resort, immediately feeling a warm welcome. Unlike a typical hotel's impersonal atmosphere, the staff here felt like old friends, making us feel right at home and completely relaxed.
Getting to Disneyland was a breeze with their Mercedes shuttle, which departed at our pre-arranged time. Breakfast was plentiful, and our room was spotless and tidy. The overall environment was lovely, and there were even small animals in the backyard that we could feed for free.
The biggest surprise, though, was experiencing authentic winter fun. We gathered around a traditional earthen pot stove, warming ourselves and chatting, or enjoyed a steaming hotpot cooked in a vintage hanging pot. On sunny days, we even had a lively outdoor BBQ with plenty of smoke and laughter. From the rustic charm of the earthen pot to the nostalgic feel of the hanging pot and the vibrant energy of the BBQ, this place had it all.
Dino Starry is more than just a place to stay; it's a wonderful space where you can unwind, leave your weariness behind, and relive cherished moments. Come and gather with your loved ones here, and collect a whole winter's worth of warmth amidst delicious food and laughter!

GGuest UserThe overall experience was excellent! The hotel environment was quiet and clean, with complete and functional facilities. The front desk service was attentive and helpful. The location in Xuhui District is very convenient. The room size was just right, offering great privacy, which made for a very relaxing stay. I will definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Shanghai.
AAnonymous UserThe Executive Room was spacious and airy, with soft, comfortable bedding and exquisite bathroom amenities. The soundproofing was excellent, allowing for a truly peaceful rest. The hotel's location is superb, making getting around a breeze; you can hail a taxi right downstairs.
A special shout-out to Jeremy from the Executive Lounge! From check-in to departure, he was attentive and thoughtful throughout. He proactively explained all the lounge benefits, from breakfast and afternoon tea to evening service, arranging everything with meticulous care and warmth. He was quick to respond to any request, demonstrating professionalism and genuine hospitality that made us feel like family.
Our experience was perfect, highly recommended!

GGuest UserService: The front desk staff, Wang Xing, provided excellent service! She didn't constantly bother us with WeChat messages during our stay, but was always responsive to our requests (though my wife and I didn't have many special demands). We booked the 'Yi Shanghai King Room' because my wife wasn't really interested in a river view, and easy access for driving was more important. I thought about taking my wife to explore the Bund and take a ferry, so I was choosing between the InterContinental The Bund and the Bellagio. Before our trip, I read reviews saying you could upgrade to a river view room for a small fee, thinking it applied to all 'Yue Shanghai' rooms. It wasn't until I arrived that I learned not all 'Yue Shanghai' rooms have river views. The front desk staff said I could use a membership discount and upgraded us to a partial river view room for an additional 110 yuan per night. To be honest, we came back quite late every day and didn't really have time to sit and enjoy the view.
Environment: The room was advertised as 42 square meters, a bit smaller than an InterContinental executive room, but sufficient for two people.
Facilities: The mini-bar was great; drinks were always replenished. However, I only drank 2 cans of Coke daily as I was driving and couldn't drink alcohol.
Welcome Cookies: I didn't see any!
Lobby Service: Excellent! The staff were very prompt and helpful with luggage. The foreign male staff member was particularly enthusiastic!
Breakfast: My wife thought it was mediocre, not as good as the Westin we stayed at during our New Year's holiday in Hainan.
Parking: No parking available at the hotel! However, we could park at a garage near the Bund, which cost 16 yuan per hour, capped at 128 yuan for 24 hours. We parked for three days, and it almost equaled our daily car rental fee. It's usually difficult to find a spot in the garage from evening until 10 PM, especially on holidays. Luckily, I left in the morning and returned quite late. The hotel doesn't reimburse parking fees, which the InterContinental does, making it a bit more considerate.
Cleanliness: Good! Perhaps it was because the room lighting was a bit dim that I didn't notice any issues, hahaha! Oh, and there was a light in the hallway that I couldn't find the switch for, so it stayed on all night. Thankfully, my wife and I were quite tired on the first two nights and fell asleep quickly.
I originally planned to have Western food at 'Magic Mirror' but ended up not going and went to 'One Foot Garden' instead.
Location: Excellent! My wife said she'd stay here again next time because of the convenience.

AAnonymous UserI originally booked a Deluxe River View Room at The Peninsula, but to my pleasant surprise, I received a complimentary upgrade to a River View Suite! What an amazing bonus! The suite offered a stunning, expansive view directly overlooking the beautiful Bund, creating a fantastic ambiance. The hotel's service was meticulous and attentive, the facilities were top-notch, and the environment was serene and elegant. During the holiday season, I even received some delightful complimentary treats. The whole experience was absolutely fantastic – truly a benchmark in luxury.

GGuest UserThe environment is great, and the service is exceptional. The hotel breakfast is rich and varied, and they even offer late-night snacks! The snacks are available promptly every day. They also provide airport shuttle service and transportation to Disneyland. For the price, this hotel is definitely worth it! Highly recommended.

GGuest UserIn a word, the Banyan Tree hotel did not disappoint us. We stayed there for eight consecutive days, enjoying the high-quality service of a luxury hotel every single day. Although we had to wait about 20 minutes to check in, it was because my wife is sensitive to all hair, so they specially treated our room. By the time we opened the door to our room, our luggage was already there. The room design was impeccable, with huge windows offering a perfect view of the boats cruising on the Huangpu River and the Shanghai skyline.
Not only was the breakfast abundant, but it was also served for an exceptionally long time, until 12 PM. The restaurant staff were incredibly diligent and responsible. On one occasion, my wife left her sun hat near the hotel restaurant and thought it was lost outside, but they actually found it the next day. Furthermore, the lobby manager and concierge were very responsible; they proactively helped us track every package we ordered online and had delivered to the hotel. Our private butler was also very attentive, always resolving our issues quickly and perfectly, and proactively asking if we needed any further assistance. Many small details like these made us truly love this hotel.
Of course, only praising the hotel would seem a bit unrealistic. We feel that the area most in need of improvement is the room's hardware facilities. Some details in the room showed cracks in the flooring, peeling cement and broken bricks on the walls, and the drainage system wasn't perfect. We hope the hotel will undertake renovations and improvements when the opportunity arises. It's understandable for a hotel that's over ten years old; maintaining it to this extent is already quite an achievement.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe Waldorf Astoria's century-old ambiance is ingrained in its architecture, but the warmth truly comes from our concierges, Aaron and Katrina. During our chat, they meticulously explained the history and signature dishes of various restaurants, offering unique dining tips for everything from the three-tiered afternoon tea at Peacock Alley to the Western cuisine at Pelham's open kitchen, and even the retro long bar at The Long Bar. Their thoughtfulness extended to every small detail, and the farewell gift at check-out felt incredibly ceremonial. This genuine sincerity made our Bund trip truly complete, and we will definitely return.

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people.
Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories.
We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserI’m so glad I chose the Mehood Elegant Hotel. It was the perfect location — close to everything, not too crowded, yet not too remote either. I traveled solo with my 14-month-old toddler, and he was absolutely spoiled by all the hotel staff. Everyone treated us with so much kindness and care.
Jerry checked us in and out and even gave me a cute fridge magnet. The breakfast was delicious with so many options to choose from, the rooms were cleaned daily, and bottled water was always replenished.
Xiao Jun also took great care of us, and Yinhe Juan felt like an auntie to us. We looked forward to seeing them every morning at breakfast. They all made my stay feel so warm and welcoming — truly like a home away from home.
I’m incredibly grateful for their hospitality, and if I ever find myself back in Shanghai again, I’ll definitely be booking Mehood.
PS: the view from my room was incredible!
