When I booked the hotel, I was a bit worried seeing that the pick-up service was only from 8 AM to midnight. I specifically called to confirm that they could still pick me up even if my train arrived in Dunhuang around 7 AM. The hotel's location is excellent, very close to Shazhou Night Market, Dunhuang Bookstore, Dunhuang Print Bureau, and Mingsha Mountain. I'm very grateful to the kind lady at the front desk for upgrading my room and allowing me to check in early. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Oh, and the two cats at the front desk are absolutely adorable!

The biggest surprise during this stay was definitely the hotel's gym and laundry room – they truly elevated convenience to another level! The gym was fully equipped with everything you could need – treadmills, dumbbells, elliptical machines, etc. – and the space was clean and bright. Getting in a quick 30-minute workout before heading out each day left me feeling incredibly energized. The laundry room was a real lifesaver! Not only did it have automatic washing machines, but also dryers and even laundry detergent. My clothes came out soft and fresh after drying, meaning I no longer had to travel with a bag full of dirty laundry. On top of that, the room was spotlessly clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the front desk service was incredibly attentive. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and I'll definitely prioritize staying here again on my next visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The service and breakfast were both good. I even forgot something, and the hotel called to thank me for it. However, the strange thing about this hotel is that the air conditioning only turns on at 6 PM. I came back from Maiji Mountain in the afternoon and was really cold, wanting to rest in the room. But I ended up having to wear my down jacket indoors. Air conditioning only starting at 6 PM? This is the first time I've encountered something like this in all my years of traveling!

We had a nice stay there. Hotel is located near drum tower. Convenient to walk around to the food area. The receptionists are helpful and courteous. Breakfast is quite good and healthy for people who don’t like local spicy food. Room is clean.

Comfortable room, a good size with blackout curtains. The hotel is an easy walking distance from the train station no matter how much luggage you have. Free laundry facilities. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, happy to answer questions and assist with bookings and locating various services around town.
The only negative is breakfast. Both days I was there one or more of the bread products were stale. Paper cups are provided for cold drinks (which seems needlessly wasteful) the one morning I tried, the orange juice was flavorless and watered down- it tasted like when you refill a juice bottle with water. The shape of the seating area is also unfortunate. There are two corners where people seem to appear out of nowhere and both days I encountered numerous children running and who absolutely should not have been allowed to bring their scooters in to the breakfast area (not the mobility kind) making carrying hot drinks and plates of food dangerous and unpleasant. Definitely recommended, just skip breakfast!

The hotel's location is excellent; right outside, you can catch buses to destinations like Dunhuang Mogao Grottoes, the airport, the train station, and Xuanquanzi Scenic Area.
The hotel interior is also quite new, and the bedding is good.
Downsides: The water wasn't hot enough. They required a 30 RMB deposit for each room key card, which is something I haven't seen in years. For such a large hotel, it felt really petty.
The front desk service wasn't bad, but it felt a bit forced and uncomfortable. I don't know why, but they barely smiled, which made me wonder if the management was mistreating them? It just made for an uncomfortable experience.
They offer a station drop-off service, which I initially thought was a nice perk. However, the communication was unclear, and I wasn't sure if the car was even there. When you're traveling in an unfamiliar place and have a train to catch, punctuality is crucial. No one could give me a clear answer. In the end, I had to repeatedly press the front desk in the morning before they could confirm. It left a very bad impression; the entire management seems to have issues.

The room is great, although this time we had an issue with the morning to the airport service. We arrived on time at 6:20am and there was no room in the shuttle that was scheduled. It’s very stressful to wake up early and make sure you don’t miss a flight, and they clearly overbooked the shuttle, even though we specifically arranged this the night before.
A rude family pushed past us too and the hotel staff didn’t really communicate what was going on. I appreciate the hospitality during the stay, but guests shouldn’t have to worry about missing a flight from rude other guests and miss-counted shuttles.

This is my second stay at this hotel. I came straight here from the train station, and the Mercure's location is excellent. The hotel's facilities and services are superb – I absolutely love it! The rooms are spacious, bright, and spotlessly clean, and the breakfast was also fantastic. I'll definitely choose Mercure again next time.
While here, I met guests from Shanghai, Guangdong, Northeast China, and even Japan. As a visitor from Sichuan, it felt like a homecoming, especially since Tianshui was part of the Shu Kingdom during the Three Kingdoms period!

From the airport pick-up, proactively helping with luggage, to always greeting guests and reminding them about the weather – every detail felt thoughtful. The room even had soda water and yogurt. Given the dry climate in the Northwest, a humidifier was provided, and there was a foot bath after hiking. The laundry room and drying pavilion were free to use. The hotel has a cat named Zhouzhou, who is truly the ”healing ambassador” of the lobby. Zhouzhou acts like a ”lobby manager,” often leisurely ”on duty,” sleeping on the lobby chairs. He's very friendly and not afraid of strangers. He has a naturally calming presence; petting him when you're tired from your journey is incredibly stress-relieving and became an unexpectedly warm memory of my Dunhuang trip.

The hotel's location is excellent, not far from attractions like the Mogao Grottoes and Crescent Lake, and it's easy to catch a taxi. Despite being in the city center, it's surprisingly quiet. I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant overall style and room decor. The facilities are complete, and the mattress and pillows are exceptionally comfortable – a good night's sleep is crucial for a Qinghai-Gansu loop trip. The breakfast spread is quite rich, and the dishes taste good. The front desk service is super nice and very thoughtful. Highly recommend staying here.

AAnonymous UserOn baidu map, it says that from Zhangye railway station to the hotel is about 3 km but when actually navigating my way over while carrying a luggage, it was so much further than I'd expect because Zhnagye's road and traffic are quite chaotic. Many traffic lights aren't even in operation and there are quite a few (3 I think) t+junctions that pedestrian have to cross via the underpass. The cars doesn't quite obey the traffic lights, so be careful and cautious.
For the hotel itself, it's definitely one of my favorite overall, out of my 3 hotel stays during my trip. According to the receptionist I was offered a room upgrade, so thank you! There were also lots of free treats evertime I cleared it, so thank you again! Love especially the red dates yogurt, it's definitely a must try (although they were 2-3days after expiry). I even went out to the grocery to get more! Regarding the amenities, the air conditioner works but can't be controlled. Tried setting temp to 5 degree Celsius (lowest settings) and 30 degree celcius (highest setting), both doesn't work. It seems like it is fixed to room temp +/- a few degrees based on the temp outdoor. One of the day I had sunburn and wanted to cool off but due to how the temp was determined, I have no choice but to sweat it out. Other than that, the tap water here had very visible residue that you can tell that it isn't clear, so I really recommend not using it for drinking water boiled or not. Aon my last day, I wanted to try the bathtub but when I turned on the tap, I had a shock. The water that came out was brown, so I cancelled my initial plan of using it for relaxation 😕. There is also a humidifier provided and I am super grateful for that, however the water ran out on the 2nd day and I can't seem to fill it up correctly. The toilet bowl is also a smart toilet bowl, but I didn't realized it after closer inspection while trying to find how to flush. Lastly, I was so looking forward to the stars celling but it's kinda sad that you can't turn it on on its own without having the other lights turned on as well. Which honestly defeats the purpose of having a star gazing celling.

AAnonymous UserThe location of the hotel is easy to find, it is very convenient to take a taxi anywhere, and it is close to several attractions in the city.
Facilities: The facilities are complete, mainly the hotel room is equipped with a humidifier, which is very considerate for people who are not used to the dry weather in Dunhuang.
Hygiene: The bedding, bath towels, and bathroom are very clean. After staying in the room and going out to play, the room will be cleaned and the bath towels will be changed every day.
Environment: Very quiet, very good rest.
Service: The service is in place, and they will ask in advance whether you need to bring breakfast or beef noodles across the street.
A hotel with a relatively high cost performance, I will choose it next time I come!

GGuest UserWe had a wonderful stay at the hotel! 1. The hotel offers complimentary pick up/drop off from train station. 2. The service standard is 6 stars! We remarked that we're staying for a special occasion the hotel went the extra mile to decorate the room + offered a complimentary upgrade to a suite for us. 3. The hotel offers a lot of extra products and services like free cucumber mask/ free service laundry etc- the list is extensive. 4. Opposite a park for a relaxing stroll. Overall, I highly recommend it!
DDunhuanglvyoutuijianA perfect stay experience beyond expectations! Definitely worth recommending!
This trip to Dunhuang chose the Zen Twin Room of Hexi Corridor Hotel, which completely exceeded my expectations! The hotel is equipped with fruits and Dunhuang apricot peel water. From check-in to check-out, every detail makes people feel thoughtful.
Environmental facilities: The hotel decoration is very Silk Road style, the lobby is magnificent, the room is spacious and bright, the bedding is comfortable and clean, and the beautiful night view of the Danghe style line can be seen outside the window. It is very beautiful. Overlooking the Dunhuang Mingsha Mountain from a distance, it is simply a resting place tailored for travel!
Service attitude: The front desk lady is warm and thoughtful, the room aunt cleans meticulously, and the room is brand new after returning from the scenic spot.
Geographical location: It is only a few hundred meters away from Dunhuang Bookstore and more than 5 kilometers away from Mingsha Mountain and other attractions. There is a supermarket downstairs. It is very convenient to take a taxi or drive by car, which saves a lot of time.
Special experience: The local specialties for breakfast are super rich, and I also went to see the performance of Ledong Dunhuang in the evening!
I will definitely choose here next time I come to Dunhuang!
GGuest UserFuguo was so new when we visited in April 2025 that it was still being constructed around us! The staff made great efforts to minimize disruption and noise, and the room was very clean since it was basically new! Special thanks to Xiao Tian and the others at the front desk for going above and beyond for helping us locate a lost item, including contacting the business and arranging a courier to retrieve the lost item. Breakfast was great, too, and the breakfast staff very accommodating! The only caveat (especially for Western guests un-used to the ubiquitous smoking habit in China): we had a wonderful time at Fuguo hotel partially because this was the only truly non-smoking facility we encountered during our trip to China. Because it was so new, the hotel did not have the smell of smoke in its general areas or within the non-smoking rooms. However, while leaving on our last day, we noticed that a large group of guests took up residence and immediately started smoking in the elevator and lobby. We recommend the hotel reinforces its non-smoking policy - as stated on the lobby signs - so that all guests can breathe comfortably.

MM832979****I took so many great photos during my stay at this hotel; it's really photogenic! The hotel has so much character, and the ambiance is amazing. I highly recommend it!
**Service:** The service was excellent. The front desk staff were warm, professional, and went above and beyond. Knowing we were on a road trip, they specially recommended local delicacies, sightseeing routes, and even some hidden photo spots in Jiayuguan. They also suggested a few hidden gem snack shops popular with locals – so thoughtful! Any requests we had during our stay were promptly met by the staff, who were always polite and never perfunctory. It really made us feel well taken care of.
**Environment:** The room had fantastic natural light, and the bedding was so comfortable I didn't want to get out of bed. The front desk mentioned the mattress was imported. At night, we could even watch the stars and moon from the room and took some pictures. The location is also excellent, super close to the food street, making it convenient for exploring and dining. It's also a short drive to the Jiayuguan scenic area.
