The best time to travel to Guangzhou is in spring from April to May, and in late autumn and early winter from October to early December. These seasons have moderate temperatures and low humidity, making them ideal for exploring this outdoor attraction rich in cultural heritage. In spring, Guangzhou is filled with flowers everywhere, adding a brilliant touch to the tourism. Autumn is renowned for its bright sunshine and cool climate, making it an ideal time for cycling and outdoor activities. It is not disturbed by rain, which helps avoid the peak tourist periods of the Canton Fair, the New Year and the National Day Golden Week, as hotel prices are higher and scenic spots are very crowded at those times.

Guangzhou Weather: Top Guangzhou Attractions

  • Best Time: Autumn (October - November)
    • Why: The weather is cool, dry, and sunny. Animals are most active in these comfortable temperatures, making the safari drive and walks much more enjoyable. You avoid the intense summer heat and humidity that can make animals lethargic.
  • Good Alternative: Spring (March - April)
    • Why: Pleasant temperatures are similar to autumn. However, be prepared for higher chances of rain and humidity (the "hui nan tian" damp period) in early spring.

Very cool park

The park is one of several parks in a vast amusement park. On weekdays, it's quite crowded, although there aren't huge lines; boarding a safari takes a maximum of 15-20 minutes. I didn't like the way the vehicles were arranged: cars get stuck for long periods in front of the animals, but the train passes by, sometimes without even having time to look because of the cars. The cable car is hot in the middle of the day; you can get sunburned because the car has no shade. Food is expensive. Overall, it's a great park; if you're visiting Guangzhou with children, I recommend setting aside half a day for the visit.

We visited the safari park in Guangzhou with our family and our Chinese partners. We arrived around 10:00 AM. It was very hot (36°C), so many of the animals were resting or sleeping, but this didn't spoil the experience. The lines were shorter than we expected. The wait for the sightseeing train and cable car was about 20 minutes. Fans were running throughout, making the wait comfortable. The park is very modern: there are plenty of food courts, drinks, clean restrooms, souvenir shops, and children's items. We bought tickets in advance through Trip.com at a great rate for two adults and a teenager. We especially loved the giraffes; we managed to take some beautiful videos. We saw a sleeping panda from the cable car. We spent about six hours in the park. We could have stayed longer, but due to the heat, we decided to return to the city. The trip gave us many vivid emotions, great photos, and pleasant memories. We highly recommend it!

Chimelong Safari Park in Guangzhou has fewer animals than I imagined, except for a grassland area. Moreover, driving to the grassland area should not be allowed at all. The vast majority of people are on the mini-train. Those who drive their own cars park a lot of cars in the animal area for a long time, affecting the experience of most people. Is it worth it to affect the majority for the sake of a small number of people?

The park offers a wide variety of rides and attractions, catering to both young adults and children, ensuring a fun-filled day. Chimelong Safari Park features many different animals, with pandas and tigers being the most captivating.

Some say travel is an expensive luxury, but I say it's a necessity for the soul, like fish needing to swim upstream, like birds needing to migrate. When I'm trapped in the daily grind, it's the distant, faint sound of drums that calls me to set sail again. Travel isn't about watching, but about participating—participating in a different rhythm, a different color, a different scent that forms a web of memories. In a foreign market, I heard the most primal cries; under a dilapidated stage, I felt the most genuine joys and sorrows. Those unadorned fragments of life are more moving than any famous landmark. Gradually, I understood that the destination of travel isn't a place name, but the sudden enlightenment that comes from rediscovering oneself. As I sat on the return journey, the scenery outside the window flashed by like a rewind, yet my heart was filled with an unprecedented abundance. Poetry isn't in books, but in the sound of footsteps rubbing against the earth; the distant horizon isn't on a map, but in every moment my heart races. The springtime of life is this freedom to leave at any time, and the courage to still love the present after returning.

We're always hesitating, always waiting, forgetting that time never stops for anyone. The world is so vast, too vast for us to traverse in a lifetime, but every step is worthwhile. Setting off isn't about escaping, but about encountering. When you finally embark on your journey, you'll find that those obstacles you once thought insurmountable were merely illusions in your mind. When you see those landscapes with your own eyes, and experience those stories with your own hands, you'll understand that the beauty of life lies not in the destination, but in every step along the way. It's never too late to start.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wall Crack Recommendation! A must-see for the whole family! Buying family packages on Trip.com is really convenient, just scan the code to enter. Bring your children to watch it together this time. There will be no silence in the whole place! The stunts, trapeze and magical Vulcan scenes are super shocking, and the music and lighting effects are of an international level. The children were so excited that they kept clapping their hands, and even the usually picky elders said it was worth the price of admission. Particularly during the parade section, the actors will walk into the audience and interact, bringing the atmosphere high. I will definitely bring my family again next time I come to Guangzhou!

A cultural journey through an ancient academy is imbued with the scholarly atmosphere of bygone days. Old ginkgo trees line the stone-paved courtyard, and old-fashioned tables and chairs still adorn the lecture hall. The walls are engraved with the names of ancient scholars, their words brimming with youthful spirit. Sitting on a stone bench in the courtyard, the wind rustling through the corridors seems to carry the sounds of students reciting their lessons, the air itself filled with the faint scent of ink. A restless heart is instantly calmed, and one can't help but recall one's own youthful days of study.

This flagship theme park delivers cutting-edge thrills via record-breaking coasters like the Vertical Dive and 10-Inversion Roller Coaster, alongside family-oriented zones and grand parades.

  • Best Time: Autumn (October - November) & Spring (Late March - April)

This was a lovely little park and one that I would recommend. However, as westerners we were "overweight" for some of the rides. This was silly because they were the same rides used elsewhere and if weight is an issue, the man could have been in a two seat section as he (I) would be as there were only 3 of us. It meant that the family was broken up. My boy enjoyed it and there was an interesting ride with the park mascots. Plus good street shows.
