Jetstar Seat Map: How to Choose Your Seat on Trip.com

Planning to fly Jetstar soon and want to know the best seat to choose for your flight? This guide runs through the Jetstar seat map for every aircraft in the fleet, from the domestic Airbus A320 to the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on the long-haul routes, so you know what you are actually booking.

Jetstar has three main types of aircraft. The Airbus A320 is the oldest of them all, covering a lot of domestic routes between the capitals, where you'll only be on board for an hour or two. The A320neo is the newer version of the same aircraft and covers much of the same route.

Then there is the A321, a stretched version of the A320 with room for about 50 more people. The newer models are the A321neo, which have enough range to fly to places like Bali, New Zealand, and some destinations across Asia.

At the top is the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, the only Jetstar aircraft with a Business Class cabin, flying the long-haul routes across Asia and to Hawaii as well.

Key details for passengers:

• A320 / A320neo: The domestic and short-haul workhorses, all-economy 3-3. Paid seating splits into Extra Legroom (exit rows), Upfront (front rows, faster boarding), and Standard.
• A321: The older narrowbody, all-economy 3-3, being phased out as neos arrive. Extra-legroom seats sit at its overwing exits.
• A321neo LR: The long-range narrowbody for Bali, trans-Tasman and Perth–Bangkok. Same 3-3, newer Recaro cabin. Watch row 29: extra legroom, but windowless and no seat power.
• Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner: The only two-cabin aircraft, running long-haul to Asia, the Pacific and Hawaii. Business is a 2-3-2 recliner, not lie-flat.
• Extra Legroom seats: Across the fleet, the exit rows and select front rows are sold as a paid extra with more legroom and, on some, priority boarding.

Jetstar Seat Map | A320 and A320neo

The most common layout passengers will meet when flying with Jetstar is the A320, an all-economy plane with a 3-3 layout. It has between 180 and 186 seats depending on the aircraft, while the newer A320neo (neo stands for new engine option) is slightly larger with 188 seats. Below, you'll find the Jetstar A320 seat map and the Jetstar A320neo seat map.

When it comes to choosing seats on these two aircraft, the best seats are either at the front for quick disembarkation at your destination, or at the emergency exit aisles with more legroom.

The Jetstar A321neo is the long-range aeroplane that Jetstar uses for their hops to Bali, and on some longer routes like Perth to Bangkok. It features 232 seats, all of them economy class, with a classic 3-3 layout except for one of the exit rows, which is 2-2.

The Jetstar Boeing 787-8 seat map is the only one in the fleet with two cabins, Business and Economy, and it flies the long-haul routes to Japan, Bangkok, Bali, Singapore, Honolulu and beyond. Business sits at the front across the first few rows in a 2-3-2 layout, and Economy fills the rest in a 3-3-3 layout, giving nine seats per row.  Standard Economy pitch is around 30 inches, which is roomier than the narrowbodies, and the Dreamliner cabin itself is more comfortable on a long flight thanks to lower cabin pressure, better humidity and larger dimming windows.

How to Choose Your Seat on Jetstar via Trip.com

When booking via Trip.com, you can also choose your seat when you reach the passenger and seat-selection part of the booking process. Here are the steps for booking a flight with Jetstar:

1. Search for your flight. Log in to Trip.com, enter your origin, destination and dates, and search for available flights by selecting the Jetstar filter. 
2. Choose your fare. Pick the flight and fare that suits, then move through to the booking screen. Seat selection is included on some higher fare bundles, or paid if you’ve selected a starter fare.
3. Enter the passenger details. You’ll need to add all of the traveller’s name, nationality, and passport details. 
4. Open the seat map. From here, you can see the interactive cabin layout, showing which seats are available and which are taken. Tap on the seat or seats you want to select it. 
5. Confirm and pay. Depending on your fare and the seat type (standard, extra legroom or exit row), an extra fee may apply. Confirm to lock it in.

If you would rather sort it after booking, you can add or change a seat later through Manage Booking. If you don’t select your seat, when you’re checking in, any free seats left will be assigned to you.
