The location is fantastic. Most major city attractions are within walking distance, and the free tram stop is just around the corner. Australia's two main supermarkets, Coles and Woolworths, are also only a short walk away, and it's right next to the library. The room I booked came with amenities like a microwave and a kettle, which made it very convenient for heating up groceries. The room was perfectly adequate for two people. For those booking a small group tour to the Great Ocean Road via Ctrip, hotel pick-up is available. Overall, despite the room showing its age, it was perfectly sufficient and served its purpose well – definitely good value for money. Breakfast was quite good. For check-in, a basic command of English is necessary.

We initially booked just two nights at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, but the outstanding service we received made us extend our stay—and I’m so glad we did. The level of attentiveness and genuine care shown by the staff truly elevated our experience. One moment that stood out was during breakfast. My husband asked a staff member at the pastry section whether the items were halal. She explained it to him politely, and to our surprise, about 15 minutes later, the Assistant Director of the restaurant, Mr. Albert, personally came to our table. He took the time to explain the halal options available and even assured us that eggs could be prepared using separate utensils. While I was getting bread, Mr. Albert noticed and came over again, kindly asking if I would like my eggs prepared then. He immediately instructed the chef to prepare eggs and nuggets for me and told me to sit comfortably while he arranged everything to be brought over. His thoughtfulness and proactive service left a lasting impression. It’s rare to see such initiative and care, and it made me feel confident that I had chosen the right hotel. I will definitely recommend Grand Hyatt Melbourne to my family and friends. The hotel is fortunate to have a staff member like Mr. Albert—he truly deserves recognition for his outstanding hospitality.

The hotel's location is quite convenient; it's about a 10-minute walk to shopping areas, and Chinatown isn't too far either. It's especially suitable for families with children, as they offer family rooms. The two-bedroom, one-living room layout is excellent, with bedrooms on either side of the living room, which helps maintain privacy. This room type also includes breakfast, so there's no need to book an additional breakfast package.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 — Returning Guests & Still Impressed! This is our second stay at Mercure Caroline Springs in just two months — and once again, it did not disappoint! Receptionist Magda was absolutely wonderful—so welcoming and engaging! She recognized us from our first visit and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable. To our delight, she even told us we’d been upgraded—how exciting! Her warmth and attention to detail truly made our stay special. From the warm welcome at check-in to the spotless, comfortable rooms with beautiful lake views, everything was just as perfect as we remembered. The staff are consistently friendly and attentive, and the location is ideal — peaceful yet close to shops, cafes, and restaurants. It’s rare to find a place you want to come back to so quickly, but Mercure Caroline Springs truly feels like a home away from home. Already looking forward to our next visit !!! Stayed here for 4 nights with my 3 children. Check-in was quick and smooth, with a complimentary litre of milk. Pool and spa quite spacious - spa was perfect temperature. There's an outdoor playground as well as an indoor playground, table tennis, giant chess, giant connect 4, kids TV area, outdoor cinema, adults TV area and gym. Amenities, laundry, and camp kitchen were all clean as easily accessible. There's a Woolworths just down the road.

The room wasn't very new, and the facilities were a bit old. The front desk mentioned that the room's location was complicated and suggested it would be easier to follow the signs yourself. There's a car for airport pick-up and drop-off, so if you arrive at the airport at night, you can check into this hotel first and then take a bus to the city in the morning. There's a bus stop right outside the hotel, which is very convenient. The Western-style breakfast offered a decent variety and was quite filling.

Great cabin! Very spacious and well stocked for cooking. There were a couple of things that needed to be fixed, a broken towel hanger and holes in the screen door but management responded right away. The location wasn’t great and we had to drive to get anywhere, downtown or to public transport, groceries, and restaurants. The one shopping complex you could walk to didn’t offer much. Great pool!

The room was alright, it looks like in the actual photo. The kettle mouth was dirty, so we didnt use it. The lightning wasn'r bright, so it was hard for me to use the make up. They need to replaced the lights to a brighter light bulb. The first night we stayed there we asked the staff for a new towles, when we returned the room was made so that was good. The 2nd night we stayed there my partner asked the receptionist if we could get a new towles, when we came back from our outting the room wasn't being made and we were very dissapointed. Anyway, overall was ok. Only the location was good cos it was in the central of the city.

Trip.com booked the wrong smaller room size for us family of 4 unfortunately and Ibis Melbourne does not have the bigger room size. However, they made the upgrade for us 2 days later as soon as the bigger room size is available with a top up and complimentary breakfast. We are very grateful for the great hospitality service.

Stayed at Ibis Kingsgate for two weeks as I was here to celebrate my birthday. It is my second time staying here; I also came here last year for two weeks and for my birthday! The hotel is located within a good and safe area - which is great for solo travellers such as myself. I’ve seen families at this hotel too. Ibis Kingsgate is within the free tram zone (you can take the 86 or 96), with access to many amenities nearby such as Coles, Woolies, Southern Cross Station (great for when you have to catch the SkyBus), My Chemist, and a range of food and cafe options. Located at the cross junction of King and Bourke St, the hotel is also walking distance to other popular streets such Elizabeth, Queen, Williams, Colins, Lonsdale, La Trobe, and more! Flinders is nearby too, and you can just cut across to Southbank as well! In fact, you can even walk to Lygon, Docklands or even as far as Collingwood, which I did! If walking is not your thing, there are also many options for trams, trains, and buses near this hotel. Room is adequate and clean, with a nice range of television channels. There’s a fridge, kettle and tea/coffee which is occasionally refilled. Bathroom is good too; sufficient and spacious enough, and for some - there’s even a window in the bathroom! The hotel staff are nice and it’s always great to be back. Thank you for the room upgrade, it made my trip even more special. I returned the gesture by keeping the room as clean and tidy as possible. ;p Until next time! See ya later!

Novotel Melbourne on Collins was a fantastic base for our family trip! The location truly is perfect – having multiple free city tram stops within 100 meters made exploring effortless. We easily walked to major spots like Flinders Street Station and the stunning State Library Victoria. Food options were plentiful nearby, making ”food hunting” a breeze. A major plus for us was the onsite parking. Renting a car was stress-free knowing we had a guaranteed, convenient spot each night (parking fee applicable, refer to hotel front desk). The room was impressively spacious, comfortably accommodating our family of two adults and a kid. Having two queen-size beds was ideal – everyone had plenty of room to sleep well. **Things that could elevate the experience further:** 1. Breakfast Variety: While the breakfast was good, a wider selection of hot and cold options would be appreciated, especially for a longer stay. 2. TV Upgrade: The current TV channel is very limited. Upgrading to Smart TVs with access to streaming platforms like Netflix and YouTube would be a huge improvement for in-room entertainment, especially for families with young kids / toddler. 3. Shaving Kit Quality:The provided shaving kit's ”cream” (which was a soap) and blade weren't great. Offering a slightly higher quality kit with proper shaving cream would be a noticeable touch. **Overall:** We had a very comfortable and convenient stay thanks to the unbeatable location, easy parking, and spacious family room. Addressing the breakfast variety, TV upgrade, and shaving kit quality would easily push this towards a perfect 5-star experience. Highly recommended, especially for families needing space and city access.

The guy at the front desk was very nice. He took the initiative to help me change to a higher floor, asked about my flight time, and arranged for a late check-out at 2 o'clock. The club lounge is generally ok, except for the fact that one of the lounge waitresses was a bit impatient when we checked in on the first day. She frowned when we called her because we were Asian? They are very nice to white foreigners. Treat differently.

The hotel was easy to find and offered 24-hour free parking, though it cost $80 a day. However, street parking in front and behind the hotel was free from 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM. After 7:30 AM, you had to pay, with rates of $4 per hour on weekdays and $2 on weekends. You might need to search a bit for a spot. The room was spacious and came with slippers. They provided four bottles of mineral water daily, and if that wasn't enough, they'd send more upon request – room service was super fast! The room was also very clean. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it was very refined. The buffet restaurant had a unique tiered design. Since I had a stroller, they set me up on a separate level with plenty of space, so it didn't bother anyone. The only minor inconvenience was needing help carrying the stroller up and down the stairs, but the staff were always willing to assist. I loved the convenient yet quiet location. It was a 12-15 minute walk to Chinatown and just a 2-minute walk to the tram stop. There's also a large park right outside for a relaxing stroll.

The car park is challenging to access, it took me awhile to get the lift door opened and to get in, really need to align the car properly. The room itself is comfortable, with great views of crown tower. The pots are not cleaned well though. The washer and dryer comes in handy. Good place to stay on the whole.
