Ibis Budget Basel City
"The room was clean, we have a bunkbed, double bed with a single bunkbed. The toilet is separated, the shower room is very tiny, not much room to move around inside. No hair dryer is provided. There is a small TV in the room where the channels are quite many in France and some in English. Our towels were changed daily and our bed also being done daily during our stay. The hotel is in good location, there is a tram stop nearby, also we can just walk around 15 minutes to the main train station and it was safe during the night and even early morning. The nearest supermarket is COOP and it is around around 5-10 minutes, you can see the COOP office building from the hotel and still need to walk straight from it."

"This hotel was a great value for our stopover from France to Zurich, Switzerland. The rooms were clean and quite spacious, with lovely views of the Basel cityscape from the window. The hotel's decor felt very refined and elegant throughout. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and very plentiful! All the staff were also very friendly and helpful."

"We arrived late but we got a great welcome and and had a pleasent chat with friendly host in the reception. Staff is calm and professional and help with everything ! Rooms are clean and so are blankets and pillows. Baths and toilets are clean and offcourse there are water on the floor and some minor detailes when a lot of people share facilities. But we will come back if we return. The neighbourgood is close to the station, the Tram is just around the corner and the old factory that host the hostel is a creative space with bars-restaurants, climbing facilities and much more. The hostel gives you a free Basel card so whats not to like, and we can recommend to do as the locals, to jump in the Rhien and follow the stream along with the rest of the city. So a great stay for a family of 5, parents and 3 kids 5-12-15"

"I had been in this hotel in three previous instances, alwasys in October and always for the same congress (ABIM). It had always been a nice experience, with welcoming staff, nice breakfast in its resturant, good cleaning service. This time I stayed four nights and it was horrible. The new owners have converted the hotel into a self-check-in place. this means that you do not see a soul. the reception desk has been boarded up with wooden plank. The entrance to the restaurant is closed, with a sign "Kein Durchgang". The rooms are not made up ("only if you stay a week"). In the entrance lobby and in the staircase well a sewer smell permeated the air. The "breakfast" was totally squallid, a coffe machine with stale croissants in a bare room. NEVER AGAIN!!"
