"For me, there are several factors when it comes to reviewing a hotel. In this case, the property mainly operates as a pub and restaurant, with the hotel as more of an add-on feature. Location: 5 stars, no doubt. It’s right in the CBD, making it super convenient to walk around and access nearby places. Room: Spacious, clean, well-equipped, and facing the pool—so at least there’s a nice view. However, there are a few downsides. The rooms are not soundproof at all. Since there are live performances at the open-space pub right below from about 6–10pm, expect some noise. Even after the music ends, you can still hear people chatting downstairs. And just fyi there is no toothpaste, and indoor flip flop. Wi-Fi: This was the biggest issue. Even though I stayed in the room closest to the router (as staff mentioned) and the hotel has two networks—one for pub guests and one for hotel guests—the signal basically disappeared once I stepped into my room. My phone couldn’t connect at all unless I went outside, and while my iPad could connect, the connection kept dropping every 15–20 minutes. I had to manually reconnect each time. I’m not an IT expert, but it seems like they might be using a small-scale or shared network that struggles when too many users are online. Aside from that, everything else was fine. The staff were supportive, and both check-in and check-out were smooth—especially check-out, which was quick and hassle-free."

"Stayed for a week and had a pretty good experience! Parking at the hotel entrance was convenient and free. Right outside is a grassy park, and the harbor bay is just a short walk away. From the hotel window, you can see playground facilities, which kept the kids entertained for a while. It's also very close to the center, just a 10-minute walk to Coles supermarket and that other green-logo supermarket. The crocodile park is also within walking distance. Just be careful of the local Indigenous people there – keep your distance!"

"The apartment-style room was spacious and enough for two people. The smell in the room was a bit bothersome, but there was a washing machine, a regular-sized refrigerator, and a unit-type bathtub, so we were able to stay comfortably. It's about a 5-10 minute drive from the CBD, but we had a car so it wasn't a problem, and the location was quiet and nice. There was a morning market held on Saturdays about a 3-minute walk away, and it was fun to look around. I'll definitely stay at this hotel again when I go to Darwin."

"The hotel is excellent, the location is perfect, and the staff are polite and attentive. The hotel offers a lot of amenities: a pool, a bar, a disco, and a dining area. You can also book local excursions directly from the hotel; consultant Vera will show and tell you all about them in detail."

"The hotel is conveniently located right in Darwin's CBD. A Woolworths supermarket is just outside, and Coles along with many dining options are all very close by. The room was very clean, and overall, it was a great stay. While there's a bar nearby that can get a bit noisy at night, it wasn't an issue at all with earplugs."

"The hotel was under massive renovation. Couldn't get a good Waterview room due to that. The front desk staffs are very accommodative and helpful trying to offer other rooms and options. The swimming pool is the best and we really enjoyed it especially in the hot climates.The location is at the Esplanade,directly sea facing with a nice view and big park . Highly recommend!"

"Our family of four stayed for 5 nights in June. The apartment is clean and spacious. Kitchen is self catering and fully equipped. Supermarket is 10mins walk away. Strong Wifi connection. Cullen Bay and Mindil Beach is a 5 mins drive away."

"Nice hotel a little away from town center but only 10 minute walk. We had a nice view from the 4th floor. Breakfast was included, a little basic but still sufficient. Pool towels were also available for free."
