Room Mate Collection Giulia, Milan

9.4/10
Amazing

This is a fantastic hotel with excellent service and cleanliness. The rooms are beautiful, and the breakfast is a real highlight! They have smoked salmon, pan-fried dumplings, and avocado – all for just €25 per person, which is great value. There are two pizza places, a mini-supermarket, and a small pharmacy right outside the hotel, which is incredibly convenient. Plus, the Duomo square is just 20 meters to the left, and it's connected to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. It's so close that you can easily drop off your shopping and head right back out for more!

I stayed at Ostello Bello - Milano Duomo for two nights, and it was an amazing experience. This is the best hostel I’ve stayed in. The location is very accessible, with fast-food restaurants, malls, tourist attractions, and the metro all nearby. The place is very cozy and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere, which made me feel comfortable right away. The receptionists were very kind and accommodating. I arrived very late, around 1:40 AM, but they still welcomed me without any issues, which I really appreciated. My room was also great, clean, and comfortable, with a private bathroom that made my stay even more convenient. They also offer free drinks like coffee, tea, and water, along with some nice amenities. Overall, I would rate this hostel 10/10 and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Milan.

First, the aircon is cold even in summer (we stayed on the top floor). The room size is big for European standards. Everything else (location, cleanliness, room condition, breakfast selection, food choices nearby) I am giving it 10/10 for its money. My only comment is that a room card is not required to get into the elevator. Everything else is perfect. Highly recommended.

The hotel is located in a residential area, slightly north of central Milan, which appears to be one of the city's less affluent neighborhoods. Right next to it, there's a large roundabout surprisingly overgrown with tall weeds! The buildings' bases are covered in graffiti, making the area look quite run-down. There was a Black housekeeping staff member who seemed to lack proper housekeeping training. While cleaning our room, he took our personal glass, which was very different from the hotel's provided glassware, as well as a stainless steel cup and chopsticks that had no connection to the hotel whatsoever. When we returned to the room and noticed these items missing, we saw him still cleaning and immediately asked if he had thrown them away. He didn't evade the question at all; instead, he led me to the storage room and retrieved everything! We ran into him at the subway station the next day. He was instantly recognizable – over 190cm tall and very thin. He greeted us in a very friendly manner.

Location: Very close to the Porta Venezia metro station, which offers convenient access to the Duomo and Santa Maria delle Grazie (where you can see 'The Last Supper'). It's a quiet area despite being central, with a food street nearby. Facilities: For a European hotel, it's relatively new. While the amenities are on par with a budget hotel back home, it does have a decent-sized elevator. Service: They offer 24-hour front desk service, and the staff's English is quite good. Cleanliness: Overall, it's very clean. A great choice among hotels in Milan! 👍

Don't get a room facing the tram line! It's incredibly noisy! Extremely noisy! Extremely noisy! Noise-sensitive people, beware! I didn't see a single comment about this, which is strange. I mostly slept with noise-canceling headphones. I didn't change rooms because I was so exhausted from the train ride on the first day that I just fell into bed and didn't feel like it. Afterward, I just spread out my things and... The location is great. Most attractions are within a 2km walk, and there are three supermarkets across the street. I'll reiterate: Don't book a room facing the main entrance street!

The hotel is located between the Central Station and Milan Cathedral. If you're comfortable walking within a 2km radius, then its location is excellent, allowing you to easily walk to either the train station or the Duomo. The room was quite small and the price wasn't low, but the front desk allowed us to check in early, which we appreciated.

Not sure if it was because we arrived late on the first day, but the room we were given wasn't great. Two out of three lights in the bathroom were out, and the toilet seat cover had fallen off. After reporting it to the front desk the next morning, they promptly moved us to another room.
