"The room isn't small, it's clean and tidy, and there's a private underground parking lot. It's a little far from the lakeside, about 500 meters, a few minutes' walk. If it were right by the lake, I guess the price would be much higher. It seems to have been a Best Western hotel before. The breakfast is also plentiful, and it offers good value for money. Overall, I'm quite satisfied."

"You can see the lake when you open the window. It is very convenient for eating and transportation. It is also close to the cable car. The glass on both sides of the bathtub may be installed upside down. Self-service check-in is very convenient. You need to send an email in advance with an ID photo"

"The hotel was clean and very well maintained. The bed was great and comfortable. We had the room in the attic. I would say it’s slightly less than what I would have expected for the price given that we didn’t have any windows looking out. The location was fantastic. Super close to the lake and really nice restaurants. Furthermore, the train station was also a 5 minute walk away should you need it. Would’ve been nice if the breakfast was included and/or reasonably priced."

"The hotel is 2 kilometers around the hotel. It belongs to the city center. Every day, you can hear the bells of the central church. The corridor is not very good. The room is small, but all the facilities inside are very new, and there are 2 windows. The windows are particularly interesting. The sound insulation is not very good, the front desk lady Francesca is very beautiful and very warm, people are kind"

"I greatly enjoyed my 3 night stay at Hotel Barchetta Excelsior, Como. My room was spacious, immaculately clean with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom and good-sized flat screen TV. The buffet breakfast was excellent as was dinner in the dining room - a la carte. It was also enjoyable to have a coffee or drink on the outdoor terrace or in the lounge near the bar. The hotel's location is excellent, being directly opposite Lake Como and very close to ferries, trains and buses - also centrally located to shops, cafes etc. Reception staff and wait staff were courteous, professional and helpful. I recommend this hotel and would stay there again without hesitation."

"The hotel is well located near the city centre. Convenient car parking at hotel premises. I was disappointed that booking for one person gets you only one single bed in a very small room. For such a price paid (cca 150 euro/night) this was very disappointing. Breakfast was basic and fine. Very friendly staff."

"Nice cozy place just behind the train station, but thanks to being uphill it's very quiet at night, there is no dusturbance whatsoever. Very clean too, with a little kitchen for a moment with coffee or self-made breakfast. Easily reachable by walk, but if you travel with heavy luggage you may prefer a taxi ride. The hosts are very nice and went above and beyond preparing the room for me way ahead of the check-in time to accomodate special needs I had. Self check-in and out available, flawless communication with the host and clear instructions on how to reach the place. Highly recommended! High value to price ratio"

"Although the hotel is old-fashioned, the room is clean and tidy as a whole. Early and late temperature difference, if you want to turn on the air conditioner, you can check the arrangement at the counter, and the waiter will arrange the air conditioner remote control."

"The location itself is convenient, but unfortunately the overall experience didn’t match the price point. At check‑in, the staff was friendly and warm — and that was honestly the best part of the stay. The property is more like an Airbnb with no reception. The staff provided us basic information through WhatsApp. Although the name hotel is misleading and the Airbnb type style is not what we expected, the arrangement works fine with us. The room felt dated and didn’t give the impression of being properly clean. Even small details, like the towels, were disappointing; they didn’t seem fully dry and the quality was lacking. Breakfast was another letdown. We weren’t aware beforehand that it wasn’t served on‑site but instead at a café about a four‑minute walk away. While this might be fine on a sunny morning, during our stay it was raining in Como, and having to go outside just to get breakfast was far from ideal. Overall, Convo Lake Como feels overpriced for what it offers. Between the dated rooms, lack of on‑site breakfast, and underwhelming amenities, I believe there are better choices in the area that provide more comfort and value for the same or even lower cost."
