Koh Munnork Private Island

9.7/10
Amazing

This is a truly private accommodation, quiet, peaceful, and natural, perfect for those who want to escape the hustle and bustle, relax their mind, and just do nothing. The sea water is clear, the beach is beautiful, and it's not crowded because it's a private island with a limited number of guests. The accommodation and food might not be luxurious, but they offer simplicity, comfort, and a very chill atmosphere. It's ideal for couples, people who want to detox from the online world, or those who enjoy a slow-paced life :)

This is a great place to stay, right by the sea. The evening atmosphere is absolutely amazing. The pool is heated, and there aren't many rooms, which gives it a very private feel. The restaurant area has a really chill vibe with good music.

Aksorn Rayong The Vitality Collection is a refreshing, highly photogenic escape on the quiet shores of Mae Phim Beach, masterfully blending traditional Thai folklore aesthetics with a modern wellness concept. The resort stands out for its bold, neo-classical design weaving vibrant royal blues and classic Thai motifs into stylish, comfortable rooms and its serene beachfront pool that feels worlds away from the chaotic crowds of Pattaya. While the area lacks a bustling nightlife scene and the open-concept bathrooms in some rooms may compromise privacy, it is an exceptional, value-for-money retreat for couples and design lovers looking to recharge with great spa treatments, fresh local seafood, and peaceful coastal views.

Novotel Rayong Rim Pae is located right on the beach. The beach is lovely, and the sea is clear. The service is good, and breakfast is decent – perhaps not a huge selection, but it has everything you need. The room was clean, a bit older but overall fine and good value for money. There are three swimming pools, making it a great hotel for families with kids.

Facilities: The hotel is quite old. The breakfast spread was generous. Cleanliness: Decent, though the floor in room 610 was warped. I didn't take any photos. Ambiance: The environment is very good. Service: Okay, but I felt like Chinese guests were treated differently. The staff would proactively offer water to guests from other countries, but I had to ask for it myself.

The hotel is tired, but there's plenty of greenery. The pool is nice, cozy, beautiful, and deep. The kids dived in. We stayed in a family room, which is large, with beds separated by a partition. The TV had poor reception, and the WiFi was poor. There's no hairdryer, so you have to ask at reception. There's also no safe in the room. Breakfast is average. The hotel is mostly frequented by older couples, and there are practically no Russians. There's a 7/11 on both sides, a cafe opposite the hotel on the shore, and an Italian restaurant to the right of the hotel. The sea is warm, very clean, and practically deserted! There are sun loungers opposite the 7/11 on the right for 30 baht, and on the other side for 50 baht. Water activities for children and adults include inflatables, banana boats, and water sports. Water activities cost 200 baht per person. Overall, the hotel left a good impression! The nearest currency exchange office is 20 km away.

It takes no more than 15 minutes by speedboat from the mainland to reach this private island. The accommodation is generally better than the average for small island resorts like this. The beds and towels were clean, unlike many places where they're old and yellowed. I stayed one night in a dome house and one night in a bungalow. The dome house was unique and newer, which was nice, but it got incredibly hot and unbearable when there was no electricity. The bungalow, however, had a cool sea breeze blowing through it constantly. The beach on the west side had some trash, so I'd recommend swimming on the east side. The lady who manages the island is super kind and friendly. Overall, I was impressed. It's perfect for a truly relaxing getaway.

The hotel is dated and does need updated. But if you’re realistic with what you can expect from a $80/night and a clean, peaceful quiet private beach, this hotel is a very good one. They are definitely short of staff for the high season. But they try very hard to make things comfortable for you. They fixed the fridge door and bought back in an hour. The front desk staff helped carrying bags and deliver yo your door. They all did extra works. Breakfast is sufficient and up to standard. Thai selections are quite tasty though. Lunch and dinner menus have considerable variety of Thai (more) and Western (less). Simple restaurants close by but if you have cravings for fancier Western food, it’s 40 minutes away. A good location if you have a car.

I booked three rooms, and one of them had a broken air conditioner. It was making a very loud noise and wasn't working properly. I couldn't sleep because it was both hot and noisy. I left the room after midnight and needed help from the staff; I just wanted a fan. But when I walked around, there was no one there, and there was no way to contact the staff. ***I would like to strongly criticize this issue.*** Everything else was good, except for this one problem.
