"This was our second stay at this hotel. Among all the options, Galatahan stood out for its location, breakfast availability, and price. It's part of a mini-hotel association, and the staff are pleasant. Regarding the downsides, we had requested a room away from the elevator, but we were given one right next to it. In the mornings, guests waiting for the elevator would chat, and it was quite audible. However, the view compensated for everything. So, if you're an early riser, room 41 might suit you. But there were a few things that could be improved: 1) There was no shelf in the bathroom, only traces that one used to be there… it was inconvenient to place toiletries on the edge of the sink. 2) The hairdryer was on its last legs – the cap was broken, it rattled, and it overheated… I was worried it would burn my hair. 3) On our last day, it rained, and water dripped from the window, soaking my foot (which meant my last clean sock before my flight was ruined). 4) The pillow had split into two large lumps. 5) The TV remote stopped working, so we had to turn on the TV using the button on the set itself. If these minor issues don't bother you, and you're looking for an affordable place with breakfast and a good location, then go for it. Many hotels in Istanbul are in a similar condition unless you're opting for a heavy luxury suite."

"The room was clean and well-appointed. The staff were exceptionally courteous and proactively offered to help with our luggage. A supermarket is conveniently located directly across the street for stocking up on essentials. Complimentary instant coffee and black tea are provided daily in the room. The location is also quite convenient for exploring various attractions."

"The room design is quite unique and the lighting creates a nice ambiance ✨, but the facilities are noticeably old. The bathroom corners were moldy and the floor drain had accumulated grime. The bedding wasn't clean either; overall, the cleanliness wasn't up to par. However, the front desk service was excellent; they proactively helped resolve issues 👍, which was a real plus. The stay itself was just okay, but the warm human touch made up for it."

"We really enjoyed staying with Santa Rio! The receptionist was so lovely and friendly. She’s very helpful and accommodating. The room however is quite clean with plenty of bathroom towels in the bathroom. There’s a complete amenities most especially, a kettle ( we need it for our 12 month’s old son to make a milk). I would recommend the hotel for sure to my family and friends who would like to go visit Istanbul."

"The hotel's location is really convenient, right off Taksim Avenue, but it's tucked away in an alley, so getting a taxi can be a bit tricky – something to keep in mind. The staff are quite friendly and communication in English was smooth."

"I was worried the hotel wouldn't be great after reading some negative reviews, but it actually turned out fine! My friends and I stayed for 5 days, and here's what we liked: First, the location. We hadn't been to Istanbul before and accidentally picked this area, and it turned out to be super easy to get to all the main sights, plus there's a metro nearby. Very convenient. We also enjoyed the breakfasts; I thought there was a good variety, although there weren't many protein options (just eggs). The coffee was delicious though! The rooms are clean, and everything gets tidied up. Everyone was very sweet and pleasant. We asked for a packed lunch for our journey since we were leaving early and would miss breakfast, and they gave us sandwiches. Turns out there was a spa too, but we didn't get a chance to enjoy it. The only thing I didn't like was that there wasn't much light in the room, otherwise, everything was super."

"Overall, it's pretty good. The location is excellent, right by Taksim Square, making it super convenient for getting around, and there are tons of food options nearby. Plus, they offer free luggage storage, which is a nice perk. The only thing is I couldn't get the AC to work in the room, and I'm not sure why."

"Great location (3 minutes to the promenade) and a cozy deluxe room. Special thanks to the hotel staff, they were very friendly and responsive. A special shout-out to the administrator, Sinan, who helped me when the transfer driver went to the wrong pick-up location. He contacted the driver and distracted me with conversation from my anxious thoughts about missing my flight 😅"

"First talk about the advantages: 1. It is very close to Independence Street and Taksim Square, and you can go shopping on foot; 2. There are stoves, range hoods, pots and bowls in the room... You can cook by yourself, which saves money (although we didn't do it; 3. There are sok and Carrefour next to it, which is very convenient; 4. In a residential area, quiet and assured Other places that can't be considered shortcomings (that is, relatively flat places): 1. Breakfast is made now, every day, there is no freshness, and it is slower than eating buffet (of course, it is fresher now, and there is a ”mother's feeling”); 2. The room is not big; 3. The hotel is on the slope! If you go to the hotel from the south, you have to pull your suitcase and climb a lot of stairs! Of course you don't have this trouble going to the north. Summary: OK, but we hope breakfast will become self-help P1 is the kitchenette in the room, P2 is the Independence Street, P3 is breakfast, P4 is the cat on the top of the garden for breakfast"

"I stayed for two nights, and the hotel's location is unbeatable. It's right by the light rail station, very close to the strait and all the attractions. I saw the sunrise while adjusting to the time difference, and my friend and I just walked a few steps from the hotel to the beach to watch it – it was an unforgettable experience. Be prepared that the room size is a bit small. Also, the bathroom on the first floor had a strong sewage smell, which I hope they can improve."
