Great location. The facilities are complete and clean. The environment is pretty good and quiet, not bad at all. The service is decent, and the front desk service was quite good. Overall, it was a good experience. You can give it a try, it's alright.

PProtoproff, Honest review.2026.04.10
I booked this hotel based on other reviews. After staying at the hotel we were rather disappointed!
So I will be honest no detailed.
Firstly the state of the bathroom was poor , mould and bloated vanity unit. The toilet seat was broken.Shower area mouldy see pics. An unmarked dispenser of either shower gel or shampoo, cheap and poor. No other toiletries supplied other than cheap commercial soap.
There is no kettle or tea/coffee provided in rooms nor is any bottled water supplied.
The room was quite musty and aircon output was mediocre. Simply put room was poor but the location was fantastic , 10 mins walk away from the Blue mosque and about 15-18mins to Topkapi palace.
Breakfast was hot and miss no eggs or cereal on first day nor was any fruit provided. Breakfast menu is poor and inconsistent, mainly catered around turkish pallette , you'd think they'd cater a bit better considering virtually all guests were foreign.
The front desk reception folk were good especially Fatima, whom with we had good banter, and she recommended some places to visit.
Overall don't expect much other than a worn bed and shower at this hotel and enjoy the sites all within walking distance.
Would I stay here again , NO will look elsewhere.
Owner really needs to focus on bringing the standard up and possibly charging more ,which would have meant repeat custom from me, definitely not a three star however that's based on a Turkish scale. Oh and the lift says 4 persons but only three sticklebacks allowed. The roof top terrace is cafeteria, separate, but you feel compelled to purchase as the staff approach you.
The location was the only saving grace and all the cute friendly cats roaming around everywhere.

Conveniently located with plenty of cafes and shops nearby. Sultanahmet Square and the Egyptian Bazaar are also close. It's a leisurely 5-minute walk to the tram stop. The place is clean and warm, with daily cleaning service. The managers at the front desk are polite, attentive, and quick to respond to requests. They also speak good Russian. No complaints, I'd happily recommend it.

The boutique hotel is just few minutes from Taksim Square, near Taksim Metro station and just walk away from the famous Istiklal Street. The photos show a view from the restaurant, but there's no such view. Don't be fooled by the photos. However, the rooms are clean despite being small. The staff are attentive.

The big plus of the hotel is the view from the window (see photo), as well as the polite staff. There are many questions about the rest. This is a hotel without long corridors, that is, all the rooms are located near the stairs, so you can hear everyone going up and down. There are gaps in the doors, so whether there is a door or not is very noisy. By 9 o'clock cleaning begins, the vacuum cleaner makes noise. You will also hear this clearly. I was saved by headphones, I slept in them all 4 nights.
The sheets were in pellets, but upon request they were immediately replaced. The bathroom is clean and relatively recently renovated, but the room as a whole is very tired

We stayed in Room 105
The shower was broken on arrival and repaired the next day.
Curtains don't close fully letting early morning light in.
There was black mold in shower ceiling all over.
Paint peeling of the walls.
Walls paper thin you can hear your neighbours fart.
Furniture was stained and moldy.
Window wouldn't close without fear of breaking it.
Window shutters were broken.
Hall carpets are disgusting.
The only good thing about breakfast is fresh omelette.
Noise with works during the daytime so no siestas.
Neighbours kept us awake till 0230hrs then the tram kicks in at 0600 right near our window.
The pictures on its website are not what you are going to get unfortunately. The dinning room picture for example has widows. The actual dining room was poorly light and in the celler.
Good location and the men at reception were very helpful and polite.
The only reason we didn't move hotels was our transfers and pickups were prebooked and paid for to this hotel. On leaving we did hear some one else complain about their room and the attitude of the receptionist changed alot to him. We initially booked a deluxe room and it was changed to a lesser room. They stated the deluxe rooms were under refurbishment.
Would we stay at the hotel again. Definitely not in a million years.

We had a wonderful 4-night stay at the Golden Horn Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul this month, and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome and well taken care of.
A special thank you to the hotel for the complimentary room upgrade—it made our stay even more memorable. The room was beautiful, comfortable, and offered a fantastic atmosphere to relax after exploring the city.
What really stood out, however, was the impeccable service from the entire team. Every member of staff we encountered was friendly, attentive, and eager to help with anything we needed. A particular thank you goes to Erdul, Cesur, Majd, Urkan, Hayrullah whose professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made a lasting impression on us. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
The hotel’s location is also excellent, making it easy to explore many of Istanbul’s highlights while still enjoying a peaceful and comfortable place to return to at the end of the day.
We are very grateful for such a warm and memorable experience and would gladly recommend Golden Horn Bosphorus Hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul. We look forward to returning in the future!

Great
GGuest UserPerfect location for everything we walked everywhere as the main attractions and bazaars were within 5 mins walking. Left was Hagia Sofia. Palace etc, right were bazaars...straight down was the sea. The hotel was lovely, and breakfast had everything I liked and more. The view from the top was amazing; you could see all across Istanbul.
Our room was very clean, and we even had soothing music in the bathroom, which was a really nice touch.
I gave 4 stars for amenities because although the hotel has a spa, I was really hoping for a hammam experience and unfortunately it was mixed. If they offered an hour or even part of the day for ladies only, this hotel would be an absolute winner.
One small downside was that our taxi couldn’t drop us off or pick us up directly outside the hotel, so we had to walk about 3 minutes.
That said, the area felt very safe we walked out at 10pm as two women and felt completely comfortable. There’s even a police station right opposite the hotel!
Overall, a great stay and I’d definitely recommend it.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is a bit far from the Old Town, and the room was on the small side. However, it was very clean and provided disposable slippers. They offer free parking and the breakfast is purely Western, with limited variety but enough to fill you up. The price isn't particularly cheap.
LLibukaidechenghuaThe rooms were, as always, very comfortable, and the bathroom system was excellent. The hotel view was also beautiful, especially from the breakfast restaurant, in the innermost corner, where you can see the strait – truly a delightful breakfast experience. If I had to pick a downside, it would be the surprisingly strict security check to enter The Ritz-Carlton in Istanbul, where both people and bags have to be scanned! I later found out that many diplomats stay here… so… you get it. The hotel provided various chocolates, as shown in the picture. The toiletries cost 45 Euros per bottle if you take them home, but you can use them freely inside the hotel. There were many old maps of Istanbul in the hallway, and my child spent a long time studying them with great interest.
GGuest UserThe location is a bit out of the way, not near the bustling Hagia Sophia or Istiklal Avenue. The main issue was that we arrived at 3 AM. During check-in, we confirmed with the front desk that we needed a smoking room. However, after the lobby boy led us to the room, he told us smoking wasn't allowed. We had to call the front desk again to clarify, wasting another 15 minutes in back-and-forth communication. Ultimately, we had to compromise and switch rooms. Plus, my parents' room wasn't even on the same floor as mine.
However, I'm very grateful for the bellhop's help and detailed explanations. It's a shame we arrived at the airport too late that day and didn't have cash for a tip.
AA.Twiceit was fantastic weekend. We came for concert, but found this district very cute: a lot of specialty caffès, local cousine, friendly people.
Waiter helped us to schedule our last day – we left our bag on reception and went for lovely walk before went to the airport.
Place is nice, restaurant on 5th floor where we had a good breakfast, also has a nice view. Will be back ;)
TterentiusMixed feelings for this accommodation. While it is located fairly conveniently near Taksim Square, Istiklal Street, and the metro station, this place, like many guesthouses around, is located in an area with narrow streets making car pick ups and drop offs (eg, to and from airport) a little inconvenient. Walking to the hotel also involves a hilly stretch- to be borne in mind if you have elderly in your travel party.
Staff at front desk were professional, responded to requests quickly. There was ni room service provided in the 4 nights we stayed, though place is generally clean. Some amenities were broken - large cracks in toilet bowl, hairdryer would always go off halfway. And the worst part about room 102 which we booked was that it was adjacent to the reception desk and staff toilet, meaning every interaction and use of toilet could be heard loud and clear in the room - the be considered if you are a light sleeper or don't like noise.
No breakfast offered but a lot of eateries in the area offering breakfast.
NNztommyI met the kindest and nicest host while staying in Istanbul.
They even upgraded my room and made my check-in time 2 hours earlier, and they welcomed me warmly.
This was the first time I felt kindness among the Turkish people I met for 4 days.
The room was also nice. The water pressure was strong! The room was really spacious.
AAnonymous UserThe room was nice, but there's a mosque nearby, so it got a bit noisy in the mornings. The breakfast was really bad, but the hygiene and environment were decent. The main issue was that many of the staff didn't speak English, which made communication difficult.
