GGuest UserWe had a wonderful 2 nights in this family-run hotel. The host was extremely kind, friendly and helpful; he made us feel completely at home, and even gave us two delicious homemade ‘lard cakes’ to take with us because we’d enjoyed them so much at breakfast one morning!
The rooms are lovely - spacious, very light, bright and private. Really nice interior design. Ours was on the top floor with a roof top deck and great views over the lake and village.
The bed was very comfortable with fresh, clean linen and towels. There’s a kettle on the room but you need to bring your own tea or coffee. That said, tea and hot water were available 24-hours a day downstairs.
The meals in the hotel restaurant were delicious and fresh; they’re cooked onsite with ingredients that are caught or grown on the island, and are very good value. We ate breakfast (included) both mornings and dinner on our first night.
We felt very welcome and would definitely stay here again if we came back.
The main thing to note is that the host (and very few people on the island) speak English, so having some Chinese definitely helps! But we felt very welcome at all times, even when our language skills reached their limits!

HHasbiniIt was a great experience… the hotel was clean and comfortable the rooms where spacious and the amenities that were available were very pleasant. But the place is nothing without the staff they had an amazing helpful staff especially Dong La Mei she went out of her way to make our stay at the hotel as comfortable as possible…. If there was a 6 star rating for the staff it would go for her. I would definitely recommend a stay there and I’m actually looking forward to visiting again.

GGuest UserMy husband and I were met with the warmest of welcomes here! The hosts and staff were all really friendly and willing to even prepare some dinner for us after we arrived late in the evening. The gardens are beautiful and well-tended and lovely to just walk around in or sit and enjoy. We had a queen bed room Mountain View - which was quite spacious, smelled fresh and was exceptionally clean, with sufficient amenities even a balcony and mini-sauna. Breakfast was local-style and very filling. This location is great for a remote getaway experience, for some peace and quiet and if you want to explore nature. The only thing to note is that the surrounding village is rather small so there aren’t many other food options/ stores etc, so best to come prepared. All in all, we had a wonderful time and are hoping to return in the spring!

SSwamyWhat tops the list for me is the friendly staff.They go out of their way to help.I would like to specifically mention front desk manager Mr Bruce, who tried his best to get some vegetarian food at odd times. He even came with me to restaurant leaving his front deak to find an option.That's something beyond my expectation. Room is very clean.Restaurant is pretty good with several options for breakfast. In my room, AC effect was not good.They immediately try to rectify and also offered fan in the room. I am sure will stay in this hotel whenever I come to Kunshan.

AAnonymous UserFacilities: We booked a private hot spring villa, and having a hot spring tub right in the room was so convenient! The two kids had a blast soaking in it.
Hygiene: The room was spotless, and the hotel's public areas were also very tidy.
Environment: The space is vast with lots of greenery – a great place to breathe in some fresh air.
Service: You need to take a shuttle from the lobby to the room, but they even deliver food right to your door, which was incredibly thoughtful!

2202105****This time, I participated in the two-day triathlon of XTERRA. I booked a room late and only got a twin room for Saturday. I had to book the Renaissance next door on Sunday. Because I had too much equipment and luggage, I told them that I wanted to stay longer when I checked in. The front desk girl Sun Lijuan and Manager Tang helped me adjust the twin beds for two nights, which saved us from going back and forth to the room, and made our schedule much calmer. Thank you very much to Sun Lijuan and Manager Tang! The view room on the tenth floor has a full view of Taihu Lake. The porter and room service are very timely and patient. The noodles for breakfast are quite amazing. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to taste them again because the competition started at 6 o’clock on Sunday. This stay was quite nice. The whole family decided to practice driving in Taihu Lake and continue to visit the Marriott again next month!

GGuest UserThe room is very clean and the configuration is very high-end. It doesn't look like a B&B in the countryside. The designer's positioning is worthy of the name;
The boss is very nice. If you need anything in the room, you can just ask him. You can also ask for advice on travel itineraries and buying souvenirs.
Finally, a vacation in Xishan is really good and relaxing. But I didn’t see the sunset this time. It's a bit of a pity. . .

GGuest UserThe environment is simply stunning. Located right next to Shishan Park, it's tranquil and elegant, with a beautiful ambiance. The courtyard views are picturesque at every turn. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the service was thoughtful and attentive. Lumi contacted us in advance to understand our needs and even gave us a complimentary upgrade based on our situation – so nice! 👍 From check-in to check-out, the entire process was seamless, and every detail made us feel incredibly welcome. The hotel's Chinese New Year activities were also diverse and entertaining. It was an impeccable experience, definitely worth a full recommendation!
Both the public areas and the guest rooms were spotlessly clean and tidy, making us feel completely at ease.

GGuest UserReally beautiful place. It looks to be brand new - maybe it is, maybe it isn't, but it certainly looks new. The room (a suite) was very spacious, very clean. Just a very beautiful place that fit well with the surroundings. The whole building was impeccably clean.
I rated the service 5/5 because the owners were very nice, and largely left us alone. The family was processing tea and were quite busy - check-in was extremely quick, check-out too. I'm not looking for hospitality, so being left alone suited us fine - this isn't a criticism at all! The rooms don't really come with much extra (tea, coffee etc.), just a couple of bottles of water, so best to know that before you book if you usually expect this, but we didn't so we were fine with it.
You can buy really good tea from them (maybe we timed it well as we arrived at the peak tea-picking time). The owners were very kind and let us try some, and it's really good tea - we ended up buying some.
Food was pretty good, but again they were quite busy and have specific times that food is available, and no menu, so best to check ahead with them (again, really taking into account that they were super busy processing tea when we were there). Absolutely not a problem as there are so many great restaurants around too.
TV in the room had VOD but without VIP, so if you're looking to watch movies or anything best to bring your own (including HDMI cable as our TV didn't have one).
Location excellent. Space for maybe 4 cars to park, right next to a small hill, very close to the pick-up point for the sightseeing bus to take you up to Xishan, and surrounded by lots of restaurants, B+Bs etc. so if you like coffee, there's a shop just down the road. Very beautiful surroundings - you will be shocked that you're so close to Suzhou as there's absolutely no evidence that you're anywhere near a city!
All in all, really enjoyable. Amazing price for a suite (around Y500 per night) and one of the better homestay-style places we've stayed in. Highly recommended.
