The Belfry Hotel & Resort
"Nice clean rooms, nice staff, sadly breakfast was a let down, food ran out so had to wait for food to be cooked again."
Premier Inn Birmingham North (S.Coldfield)
"Wonder staff at the reception, Kelly was very helpful and friendly."
Cuttle Bridge Inn Hotel - NEC / Birmingham Airport
"For a cheap night it was exactly what I was expecting, clean and tidy room and shared areas. Parking was chargeable which I wasn’t too happy about as it was booked solely based on the parking being free, but the really nice steak in the hotel restaurant made up for it."
Lea Marston Hotel
"Short version is a terrible hotel that has no interest at all in customer experience. For conferences and golf its passable… But its not a nice short break and they absolutely have no interest in Christmas as an event or being a ‘venue’. The food is awful, drinks (when you can get them) horrifically overpriced. £5 for a pump lemonade and I only had that because suddenly I had to drive to find decent food. 3 night stay over Xmas with my father who's just lost his partner and is also recovering from throat cancer. I called before booking to check some things- this had to be the perfect Christmas! They said bar restaurant and lounge open, yes they serve Guinness (its all he can drink that doesn't burn him). Christmas Eve is his Birthday and we never know if its his last one with us so this was supposed to be a treat. Booked it, with Christmas dinner near on £1000. But. Used/unwashed bedding when we arrived, hardly and Christmas decorations, no Cheistmas music (its Dec 23rd) bar open when they fancied it- which wasn't much. Cold rooms, very few staff. We ended up sitting in the only communal area which was a cold lean-to conservatory that linked two corridors to see in his Birthday… with no drinks. Dec 24th. Terrible Christmas dinner that cost £110 a person. Cold and bare dining room, food that was not dissimilar to a microwave meal. Watched the room push food around their plates and a couple of complaints that I could hear… a lot of plates taken back in with most of the food still on them. It resembled what id expect if I asked my 15 year old to make Christmas dinner. The room closed at 3pm so we headed to the bar. CLOSED! What? Until 5. So we waited 2 hours with nothing but a TV showing a fireplace burning. Nothing at 5. Guests fluttered in, waited, left. The receptionist would run in, say ‘5 min! Then not return. To top it off when we complained to the Manager about not having access to drinks Christmas Day between 3pm and 7pm (even then waited an hour for wine before asking to speak to him because nothing came) he just smirked, refused to serve us a Guinness because that oarticular bar was closed, Dad found a cocktail that he thought he could manage, he refused that too, I explained the cancer and no reaction, not bothered one bit…. and so when an F word finally popped out of my husbands mouth he threatened to evict us from the hotel! Then went back to flirting with the receptionist which seemed to be the only time he was happy to be there! It was just a disaster. It was like spending 3 days in a closed airport lounge. Worst Christmas EVER! Christmas 2022 I evacuated animals and Children from Ukraine's front line, I lost two friends and blew both ear drums… and this was STILL the worst Christmas ever. I pray my Pops makes it to next year because if that was his last I will never forgive that place. (The other staff were very sweet but they had to ‘ask the manager’ and his favourite word is ‘no’)."
Birmingham North Moor Hall Hotel, BW Premier Collection
"Excellent staff, excellent staff, couldn't ask for anything more."
New Hall Hotel & Spa, Birmingham
"Food was not nice at all, we arrived at breakfast day two 9:45am and we were told hot breakfast was closed even breakfast was not meant to finish until 10am"
Travelodge Birmingham Sutton Coldfield
"Nice hotel, well placed for places to eat&drink, also good bus links into Birmingham and beyond. Friendly helpful staff, Ifty on reception giving excellent service, clean room"
The Dog & Doublet Inn
"Ive been here on many occasions, but im sorry to say its gone down hill , from time to getting a drink and the prices of the drinks , lack of staff behind the bar ridiculous i waited 15min befor getting served , Guys you need to sort your act as Gorden Ransey would say."
The Townhouse Sutton
"The room was quite cold, and the door lock wasn’t functioning properly. The shower didn’t meet expectations either. However, the location was excellent, and the customer service was decent. Overall, it wasn’t a very pleasant stay. Given that it was winter in December and with the cold outside, you’d expect a warm, inviting room. Unfortunately, it felt quite chilly. Additionally, the towels had a musty smell, which was disappointing."
