Yaoli Ancient Town

Yaoli Ancient Town is located in the eastern part of Fuliang County, Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, at the junction of Qimen, Xiuning, Wuyuan, and Fuliang counties. Yaoli, formerly known as 'Yao Li', was named for being the birthplace of Jingdezhen ceramics. As early as the mid-Tang Dynasty, there were workshops producing ceramics here, famous for their porcelain kilns. The town was established at the end of the Western Han Dynasty and has a history of more than two thousand years. Yaoli Ancient Town is situated to the south of Xiangshan Mountain and to the north of Lion Mountain, with the Yaoli River flowing through it, offering picturesque scenery. The town's architecture reflects both Hui-style and Gan-style elements due to its location at the border of Jiangxi and Anhui provinces. Hundreds of ancient Ming and Qing buildings are scattered along the banks of the Yaoli River, nestled against the mountains and waters, with their flying eaves and upturned corners, whitewashed walls and black tiles, set amidst green mountains and clear waters, resembling a beautiful landscape painting, making it a place that visitors find enchanting and unforgettable.
