Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum 🕍🌸
Amazing place and I'm really enjoy to be there. Can sense the rich of culture and tradition at one place. Every room shows who they are, I mean the Baba & Nyonya. 👀
Very informative, staff is friendly, gave us a brief explanation before tour. The mansion is big, vry well maintained and taken care of, believe there are some parts which are not open for visiting. No guided tour but you may take an explanation booklet which explain the details, given a good information about Baba Nyonya. 👍🏻
A place worth visiting especially tourist. Most of the baba nyonya culture, items used, ancient house are all well preserve. Highly recommend if you are coming for a tour to Melaka. 🥰

Places not to be missed in Malacca
♥️In my Malacca itinerary, my favourite exhibition is the 'Baba Nyonya Museum'.
🧐This is a two-storey private residence🏠, later converted into a museum, it is said that the descendants of the Zeng family still manage this family business.
🧐The facade looks small, but it is actually very deep, full of historical sense.
🏛️【Museum Guide】:
➡️【Tickets】10 ringgit per person. The tickets are very interesting👍, not traditional paper tickets, you can choose from many small ceramic tiles with Nanyang style patterns.
➡️【Composition】Composed of three terraced houses.
1️⃣/Reception Hall/Men with social status can discuss affairs in the hall, which shows that it was a patriarchal society at that time.
2️⃣/Ancestral Hall/In the society of Baba and Nyonya, family unity is very important, and it is also a way for the next generation to understand the family history.
3️⃣/Kitchen and Bathroom/At the deepest part of the building.
➡️【Exhibition】
The museum displays the living objects of Baba Nyonya, the antique Chinese furniture, exquisite Nyonya costumes and porcelain.
Many photos on the wall can understand the interesting situation of family life at that time.
🌟【Highlights】
One of the World Cultural Heritage. It is a window to understand the Straits Chinese nobles who have integrated Malay culture.

Baba Nyonya House Museum or also known as the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum, is a museum in Malacca City Malaysia. This museum offers the local history of ethnic Chinese-Malays called Baba-Nyonya or Peranakan in the state.
The house is a combination of three terrace lots that were acquired by the Chan family in 1861. Four generations lived in the house before it was opened as a museum in March 1985.
The Baba-Nyonyas adopted Malay customs and social practices while retaining Chinese traditions and religious beliefs, and over time, developed their own unique dialect, Baba Malay. But it's their blend of Chinese and Malay cooking that remains the most significant legacy.
Entrance Fee: RM18

Baba & Nyonya Heritage Museum ✨
The Baba and Nyonya Heritage Museum in Melaka is a must visit for anyone interested in the history and culture of Peranakan Chinese. The museum offers a fascinating glimpse into the lifestyle, customs, and traditions of the Baba Nyonya community.
Very well maintained and preserved exhibits and artifacts which are passed down from generations to generations. There are some times for guided tours, but most of the time you'll be in there without a guide as you explore the many rooms and learn how the baba nyonyas came to be.
Overall experience was pleasant and it was interesting to see the details of the wooden furnishings and interior decorations. However, it would have been better if more information is provided to visitors during the visit. ❤️
