GGuest UserThis was my first time staying at the Mövenpick Hotel Shanghai People's Square, which is a newly opened hotel (25 years old if 25年 is a typo and should be 25天的, meaning 25 days old, otherwise it's a very established hotel with a recent reopening/rebranding, which the 'newly opened' suggests). It's located in a prime spot in downtown Shanghai, just a stone's throw from Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, surrounded by countless restaurants and shops, making everything incredibly convenient. The hotel facilities are brand new, the rooms are spacious, and the service is exceptionally warm. The bellboy even proactively helped me with my luggage. I'll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Shanghai.

GGuest UserThis was honestly one of the most memorable hotel stays we have ever experienced.
We stayed at The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong to celebrate my girlfriend’s 23rd birthday during our first trip to Shanghai together, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations from beginning to end.
Before arrival, Assistant Guest Recognition Manager Yana Ivleva kindly communicated with us by email and thoughtfully helped arrange everything for the celebration. Her warmth, professionalism, and genuine care made us feel welcomed even before we arrived at the hotel.
The room decoration, birthday cake, handwritten card, flowers, and beautiful Bund view created such a special atmosphere for us. Every detail felt thoughtful and heartfelt rather than simply formal hotel service.
The hotel itself was also outstanding — the room condition, cleanliness, facilities, swimming pool, and especially the incredible night view of Shanghai were all amazing. Flair Rooftop Bar was also a wonderful experience for enjoying the skyline and atmosphere.
What impressed us the most, however, was the hospitality. Yana and the staff truly made this stay unforgettable for us, and thanks to them, our first trip to Shanghai became a memory we will cherish for a very long time.
We are sincerely grateful to The Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, Pudong and will absolutely look forward to returning again in the future.

ZZhaoxianshengIf you're torn between hotels like Shanghai Centre J, Amanyangyun, Bulgari, and The Peninsula for your trip, I have to say The Peninsula's service is comparatively subpar among them. No one will ask you how you'd like your breakfast or if you'd prefer it in your room; they won't even bring it up. I even asked the front desk to temporarily store my takeout, and it was refused, with them telling me to take it somewhere else. I rarely leave neutral or negative reviews, but I genuinely feel the value for money here is very low, and the service is even worse than some Ritz-Carlton or InterContinental properties.
It might be okay if you have a soft spot for The Peninsula; the only thing I was satisfied with was the breakfast taste, which met expectations. I wouldn't recommend it for a regular leisure trip. I complain about the InterContinental Sanlitun the most, but I've never given a review like this, so you can imagine, my friend.

YYanxiu1010This stay was a fantastic surprise; the front desk upgraded us directly to a suite. The room layout was superb, with a bedroom, a large living room, and a big bathtub. The view was expansive, directly facing the Lujiazui business district (even though it missed the 'three-piece set' of Oriental Pearl Tower, the view was still stunning).
📍Perfect Location: Right outside, you're on the North Bund waterfront. A short walk of a few hundred meters takes you to popular photo spots, and across the river is the Pudong skyline. Nearby, The Drop restaurant and Magnolia Plaza offer convenient dining and shopping options.
✨Exceptional Service: Returning in the evening, we found that housekeeping had thoughtfully turned down the bed, drawn the curtains, and even delivered a complimentary evening drink. This feeling of being well-cared for was wonderful! Many thanks to Deslin and Lily. If you want to enjoy the beautiful Bund scenery, you absolutely shouldn't miss the Banyan Tree. I'll definitely be back again!

AArcherzyhI chose this Pullman for my business trip to Shanghai for a conference. The location was very convenient, making my commute to and from the venue smooth. The room was meticulously cleaned; there was no dust in the bathroom or in the corners around the bed. The mattress was just right, neither too soft nor too firm. The desk in the room had enough space, perfect for organizing my conference materials after meetings. The front desk staff handled check-in efficiently and thoughtfully. The hotel itself was quiet, and the soundproofing was excellent, allowing me to get a peaceful night's rest after a busy day. Overall, the experience exceeded my expectations, and I'll definitely consider staying here again for future conferences.

Iinari86The front desk upgraded me to a top-floor suite for free. The decor was very elegant and tasteful, and the facilities were brand new. The night view of the city skyline was beautiful.
I heard that Waldorf uses Aesop toiletries, but the new building I stayed in had Penhaligon's.
When checking in, the front desk even brought me iced honey tea, which was delicious and not acidic at all. Now I want to drink it again but don't know where to find it. The concierge who picked me up and delivered my luggage was incredibly attentive and thorough, and the service was really satisfying.
If I had to nitpick, the breakfast could be improved, but it still met expectations.

TThe Lonely TravellerMight I say, our entire stay at the W was marvelous from beginning to end. Upon arrival, we were greeted and helped with our luggage straight yo our room. The staff at the front desk was extremely friendly. She even offered to upgrade us to a room with a better view seeing that we were celebrating and visiting Shanghai for the first time. Each staff seemed to acknowledge our existence all throughout the hotel. This made us feel like extremely important people.
Our room was absolutely stunning and oh my was the view ever so perfect. Room service was excellent. Their burger was probably the most delicious. We visited amd stayed in many hotels around China and this one definitely left some beautiful memories.
We would highly recommend staying here if ever visiting Shanghai. Every penny spent was worth it.

GGuest UserWe booked a suite for our wedding reception to host both sets of parents. When the housekeeping team helped us bring up some of our luggage, they even came along to specifically wish us a happy marriage! I was so touched. Then they adjusted the air conditioning for me because I was decorating and they were worried I'd get hot. They turned it down and even introduced me to the room's mini-bar! Later, they also sent up some fruit for me 😊 It was delicious and so fresh! In the evening, they proactively asked if I wanted turndown service~
The breakfast in the morning was especially good, with seaweed sticky rice cakes, and I even had the Shanghainese specialty 'Shuangdang Soup'! My parents and family all said the dinner banquet was excellent! The seafood received particularly high praise – it was incredibly fresh, the lobster was springy, and the beef cubes were juicy. The two-way roasted suckling pig was also very unique. Everyone in the family was very satisfied, including the wedding cake we ordered at the end; they all said it was better than cakes bought outside. It was a very happy experience.
GGuest UserAs a long-standing five-star hotel, it certainly has a rich heritage. The lobby layout, decor, and furnishings all have great style.
The room facilities are a bit dated; the bathroom still has a shower over the bathtub, but it's perfectly adequate for guests who aren't overly picky.
The breakfast is incredibly diverse and definitely a highlight.
Room service was very prompt. My child had a nosebleed in the middle of the night and got blood on the duvet, and it was handled quickly without any extra charge.
The Executive Lounge is very stylish, and the afternoon tea snacks and drinks are excellent.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, surrounded by numerous mall restaurants, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient! Janet, Penny, and Aria all provided exceptionally attentive service! They were warm, thoughtful, and responded quickly – definitely worth praising! The room was comfortable, the bedding clean and soft, and the view was beautiful. For this price, the quality you get is amazing value for money. Next time I'm in Shanghai, Conrad will definitely be my top choice. Highly recommended!!!
