QQigongziinmodouAfter a long day out, we checked into this hotel. The front desk staff was so thoughtful, offering a warm cup of water and a hot towel as we checked in – it was such a heartwarming gesture, especially since it was quite chilly outside. While checking in, they also told us about their free laundry service, which was incredibly helpful. The next day, I simply asked them to wash my clothes, and to my surprise, they were returned directly to my room, fresh, dried, and smelling wonderful! Even the housekeepers were amazing. Not only is the price incredibly affordable, but this hotel truly sets the bar for hospitality. When we came back in the evening, they even mentioned they had a late-night snack service available until 11 PM, featuring freshly prepared dishes that you could season to your liking – so thoughtful! It wasn't until I had their breakfast the next morning that I truly realized how incredible this hotel is, not just for its service, but also for the care put into everything they offer. The breakfast was spread across several sections, with various types of congee, breads, pastries, fruits, stir-fried dishes, cold dishes, and noodles. There were so many choices, it was almost overwhelming!
XXiaojunpocheOverall, my stay was quite good. On the day I checked in, my ring mysteriously disappeared. After searching for a long time with no luck, I called Niki from customer service to help me look, wondering if it had fallen into some crevice I didn't know about. We finally found it inside the pillowcase—it must have slipped through a small tear in the fabric. I never thought to look there since I hadn't opened it. I really appreciate Niki helping me search for so long. The hotel might be a bit older, as some facilities had issues. I communicated with Max, and he ran back and forth multiple times to resolve the problems. While the hotel's hardware might be fixed, good service often makes all the difference, and this return visit was definitely a good experience thanks to the staff.
On a side note, I have a small suggestion: for the area near the front desk that seems like an executive lounge for afternoon tea, when guests enter, please don't be so rigid and tell them they need to go sit on the sofa outside in the lobby because it's closing. It would be more acceptable to explain that it's a paid service or requires consumption to enter. I was with elderly family members, and older generations are used to being frugal; we often don't tell them how much things cost when we travel together. The communication style was a bit awkward and uncomfortable.

BBuchicaomeidangaodexiaoguniangyayaI also booked a room for my parents. The hotel even upgraded our room type. The minibar was free on the first day. Given the design and facilities, this hotel is really great value for money, especially during Chinese New Year in Shanghai. The only minor issues were that the shower pressure wasn't very strong, and the room was a bit warm – the AC didn't seem to make much difference. However, the location is super convenient for getting around. It's easy to get to Magnolia Plaza and the riverside greenway to see the 'three-piece suit' (Lujiazui skyline). It's also only about a ten-minute drive to the Jing'an Temple area. I'd definitely stay here again on my next visit.

GGuest UserOur stay at Banyan Tree Shanghai was truly exceptional from start to finish.
We celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary there, and the team made it incredibly special for us. They thoughtfully decorated our room and surprised us with cakes and fruits as a kind gesture. We truly appreciated the effort — it made our celebration even more memorable.
Our room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and offered breathtaking views of the city skyline. We especially loved the in-room mini pool — the highlight of our stay was simply relaxing and enjoying a bath while taking in the view.
Tales Rooftop Bar was another standout experience. It’s the perfect place to appreciate the stunning city and river views while enjoying drinks. They offer both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, and we were pleasantly surprised with complimentary snacks as well.
Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of Western and Chinese options. Aside from the buffet selection, guests can also order freshly prepared dishes like noodles and eggs, which are served hot — a wonderful touch.
The staff were incredibly professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. They made us feel valued and were always ready to assist with a warm smile. The overall ambiance of the hotel is peaceful and relaxing, making it a perfect retreat despite being in a vibrant city like Shanghai.
We highly recommend Banyan Tree Shanghai and look forward to returning in the future.

AAnonymous UserFull marks to the front desk service at Pullman Shanghai Jing'an! The entire experience was professional, efficient, and thoughtful, truly reflecting the high standards of a luxury hotel.
From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly and guided through the check-in process seamlessly. The staff were gentle, polite, and patiently answered all my questions about room types, facilities, and local transportation. Their attention to detail was exceptional. They also responded promptly and handled any last-minute requests with great service awareness, making me feel at ease and comfortable from the moment I arrived.
The front desk team as a whole displayed high professionalism and a smooth workflow, with absolutely no perfunctory service. They truly made me feel at home. With its excellent location, great facilities, and such outstanding service, this will be my first choice again next time. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and the hotel is conveniently located near Hongqiao Railway Station with an abundance of great dining options in the vicinity. This is my go-to hotel every time I'm in the city. This visit, I was pleasantly surprised with welcome fruit – perhaps an executive room perk? The key card itself was also quite interesting. I had a very comfortable stay and will definitely be returning!

GGuest UserI stayed at the Andaz Hotel with my parents during the Chinese New Year holiday. Although the decor is a bit dated due to the hotel's age, the meticulous upkeep and cleaning still made for a very pleasant stay. I absolutely loved the full set of Byredo's Eleventh Hour toiletries provided in the room – they're unique, not overly common, and show great taste! The only minor drawback was that the smart control buttons in the room were a bit old and not very responsive, making it slightly less convenient than when I stayed a few years ago. Also, the TV is old, and watching the Spring Festival Gala and Winter Olympics felt a bit anachronistic, I hope they can improve this in the future!
All the hotel staff (including the front desk, restaurant, room service, housekeeping, security, concierge, etc.) were very dedicated and had excellent service attitudes, promptly responding to any requests. I especially want to commend the staff who cleaned room 2505 on 2/18 during check-out; they found a piece of jewelry that my elderly parent had lost, and my parent specifically asked me to give them a good review and thanks! On the morning of the second day of Chinese New Year, there was also a lion dance performance that toured the restaurant and took photos with guests. Overall, this was a great stay, and I would definitely come back again if I have the chance.

GGuest UserOur stay at the hotel was excellent. The room had a breathtaking view of the Bund and the 'three-piece suite' (Oriental Pearl Tower, Jin Mao Tower, and Shanghai World Financial Center).
The food at the Executive Lounge on the 3rd floor of the East Building was also delicious. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all very good.
Rosten provided excellent service, and the butler, Lorna, whom he arranged for us, was exceptional. She called us in advance to confirm our room preferences and helped us secure a room. She even upgraded us to an Executive Lounge room type. Upon arrival, she helped us coordinate our room, and when we found the TV couldn't screen mirror, she brought us an extra mirroring device. She truly paid attention to our needs and helped us resolve issues.
However, the service was a bit hit-or-miss. The front desk staff who checked us in not only failed to assign us the room that the butler had secured for us but also disregarded our request for a Pearl Tower view, assigning us a room in the East Building with a Bund view. Then, she self-importantly declared, ”Please trust my taste.” But a service person's taste should not outweigh a customer's needs. This front desk staff member might lack the most basic respect for customer requirements. Fortunately, after some coordination, we were able to switch to a room that met our needs, and the rest of our stay was very pleasant.

GGuest UserThe room was quite spacious and very close to the subway station (Jing'an Temple, Exit 12, right next door). The elevator was also fast. The only minor inconveniences were the bathtub, which was a bit awkward, and having to pick up food deliveries from the locker downstairs. Other than that, everything else was good and satisfactory.
