This is my second stay at a Mitsui Garden Hotel, the last one being in Tokyo. The hotel chain consistently offers great service. This particular hotel is very close to Nagoya subway station, about a 5-7 minute walk. There's an underground shopping area right below where you can eat and shop, and a 7-Eleven across the street for breakfast or snacks. Within about a 5-minute walk, you'll also find popular eateries like Sekai no Yamachan, Isomaru Suisan, and Torikizoku, which is very convenient.

Upon check-in, as there weren't enough rooms available due to the holiday, the hotel kindly upgraded us to a park view room for free. The room came with an open balcony facing the park, offering fresh air. The hotel staff provided excellent service. The hotel is located in the heart of Nagoya, right next to a subway station. It's just one subway stop from Sakae, and three stops from both Nagoya Castle and Kanayama Station, making it incredibly convenient. From the hotel, you can easily walk to major shopping centers like PARCO, Mitsukoshi Department Store, and Alpen Outdoors, and there are many great restaurants nearby. This is definitely the top choice for anyone visiting Nagoya for sightseeing, shopping, or attending concerts.
Never know where this city was before I visited it. Coz I was traveling with the JR pass from Tokyo along to Osaka, this is one of the middle point. The hotel was at the JR station, clean and convenient. The staff can speak fluent English.

I had high expectations for this hotel, as it seemed to be the best in Nagoya. However, the overall service felt inferior to a four-star hotel in a smaller city. I've always experienced exceptionally friendly service at other hotels in Japan, which was often a pleasant surprise. It's not that the service here was bad, but it lacked the standout qualities I've encountered elsewhere. It was just average, and the price was significantly higher than hotels in smaller cities. As for the facilities, they feature a classic European style popular in the early 2000s, which differs from current mainstream trends. Nevertheless, the overall facilities and environment are quite good. A major plus is the direct access to a shopping mall and the subway station from the hotel downstairs. Overall, it's not bad, but personally, I found the value for money to be low.

My main goal for this trip was to get some good rest, so I specifically chose a room on the side away from the main road and booked a more expensive top-floor room. Before checking in, I even requested a corner room, hoping to have no neighbors on either side, but the hotel said they couldn't arrange it, which I totally understood.
In terms of soundproofing, if you're on the top floor and not facing the road, it's genuinely very quiet overall. With the windows closed, you basically can't hear any outside traffic or even the normal activities of neighbors. The only exception is if there are kids next door running around loudly in their room, then you'll definitely hear some noticeable noise. I experienced that firsthand this time.
However, for those who prioritize convenient transportation, this hotel might be something to reconsider. It's not particularly close to a subway or train station, requiring about a 15-minute walk. If you're dragging luggage, especially in summer or on a rainy day, it can be quite a struggle. In comparison, many hotels near stations in Nagoya offer excellent value for money.
I chose this place purely for the peace and quiet and the quality of rest. From that perspective, it completely met my expectations. If I visit Nagoya again and my primary goal is still rest, I would likely choose this hotel again.
Overall, I'm very satisfied and highly recommend it to travelers like me who value sleep quality and a quiet environment.

When I was booking my hotel, I ran into some issues, but to my surprise, the hotel manager at check-in helped me sort everything out. His service was incredibly professional, and I'm very grateful! 🙏
The breakfast here is fantastic with a wide variety of options, and there are tons of great places to eat near the hotel. The room itself is very spacious, and the view is absolutely beautiful.

I was extremely satisfied with the room's furnishings, comfort, panoramic views, carefully selected facilities, and most of all, the staff's customer-oriented attitude, their smiles and friendliness, and the delicious breakfast prepared by a French chef. I live in Nagoya and have loved the TV tower (Chubu Electric Power Mirai Tower) since I was a child. I've always wanted to stay at this hotel since it first opened, so I planned a surprise birthday celebration for my husband, and they even wrote a happy birthday message on the window. It's truly a wonderful hotel.

The room is spacious and well equipped. It's a bit far from Nagoya station and not many buses around the hotel. It's a bit inconvenient. There's shuttle bus available in the morning on weekdays. Longer service time on weekends. Maybe the hotel is busy, the lounge staff wasn't too friendly. I have short hair but I found a long hair on my bed under the blanket. The bedsheet has some black colour fabric fibers but I wore light colour pajamas.

This is a local Japanese hotel chain. The facilities are decorated in a Japanese style. Although it opened many years ago, it's still very comfortable overall. The rooms aren't huge, but they have all the necessary functions. For dining, the hotel has buffet, Japanese, Chinese, and French restaurants on the first and second floors, and the quality is consistently good. The location is very convenient, not far from the Sakae shopping district and the subway station. There's also a direct bus from Chubu Centrair Airport (NGO), so everything you need for food, drinks, and entertainment is within reach. The service was excellent. Although there was a slight hiccup where our luggage was taken by mistake after we checked it, the hotel staff quickly arranged to retrieve it, and it didn't cause any delays.

GGuest UserA very satisfying stay.
1. The front desk staff were excellent, very quick and professional with the check-in process.
2. The breakfast selection was rich, though at certain times it could get a bit crowded and require a short wait, but this was a minor issue.
3. The room was spacious, clean, and offered great views of Nagoya city. This definitely deserves a big thumbs up.
4. There's a convenience store just a 2-minute walk away, and Don Quijote is only 5 minutes away, which is incredibly convenient.
Every aspect of my stay was great, so of course, I signed up for a membership.

GGuest UserI have always enjoyed IHG indigo properties in Japan and this was not an exception. Great amenities and wonderful landscaping surrounded by beautiful gardens. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. However, do take note that the location is not that convenient and requires a 10-12 mins walk to the nearest subway, not the most ideal if your flight is very early or traveling with young children.

GGuest UserThis might probably be the best hotel view we have stayed so far in Nagoya! We were deeply impressed by the stunning day & night scene - where we could view the entire Nagoya city through our eyes:)
We even have tried out their morning and dinner buffets on L31, both were far more than just up to the mark, and likewise, we were able to catch the best view of Nagoya there.
We were well taken care of by the front desk and room cleaning services. Though the gym room is a lil bit tiny, it's neat and tidy and the equipments are well-maintained - overall, it's a highly effective workout space. And not to mention that the availability of car park slot within the hotel building was adding some extra points, especially for us with a young kid.
Highly recommending this hotel👍🏻
