Tsingtao Beer Museum | Introduction

Tsingtao Brewery’s predecessor was founded by German merchants in 1903. Using German brewing techniques and ingredients and brewed with mineral spring water from Qingdao’s Mount Lao (Laoshan), it grew into one of Asia’s largest and most advanced breweries and became one of China’s longest-standing beer brands. After World War II, it was officially named Tsingtao Beer and began exporting worldwide, making Tsingtao one of the most recognizable Chinese beer brands abroad. By 2003—the brewery’s 100th anniversary—the Tsingtao Beer Museum opened, bringing a century of brewing history and the production process to life through interactive exhibits and multimedia.
