Shanghai Disneyland Map: 8 lands of Shanghai Disneyland

Shanghai Disney Map

Shanghai Disneyland is divided into eight themed lands—from the classic Fantasyland to the unique Zootopia. Before planning your route, it's worth understanding where everything is located and what attractions await you in each area. Below is a quick guide to all eight lands of the park.

Mickey Avenue / Mickey Avenue

Mickey Avenue — the entrance area at Shanghai Disneyland

This is the first area you see when entering the park. It’s not just a street, but the world’s first entrance zone entirely dedicated to Mickey Mouse and his friends. Bright colors, music, and a festive atmosphere set the tone for your entire visit.

Main attractions and locations:

  • "Steamboat Mickey" (Steamboat Mickey Fountain): an iconic fountain featuring a modern version of Mickey from his very first animated film.
  • M Avenue Arcade: the largest shop in the park, featuring exclusive souvenirs.
  • "Sweethearts Confectionery" (Сладости Мими): a shop styled just like Minnie Mouse's house.
  • Remy’s Patisserie: A French bakery inspired by Remy the rat from the movie "Ratatouille."
  • Mickey & Pals Market Café: a quick-service restaurant featuring several themed dining rooms.

Probably the most expensive Disneyland in Asia. The lines were pretty long (expected for Shanghai) and the heat didn’t add much positively to the lines. Overall it was very fun. The snacks were good and the food was not the worst. Zootopia land was new and exciting, and the ride was fun. There are a lot of options for shopping and the item selections are so cute. The Pirates ride is like no other and was the best Pirates ride I’ve ever been on

What's not to love about Disneyland?! We went on a Wednesday, it was crowded, but we still managed to go everywhere we wanted. We spent an hour and a half at Tron, Zootopia, and Roaring Rapids, but we got to the rest much quicker, even Pirates of the Caribbean, which was a real surprise. We got into the park itself pretty quickly, too; we arrived around 10 o'clock. We really enjoyed everything, the rides were great, and the fireworks at the end were also amazing. I recommend it to everyone, it's definitely worth the money!!!

It's a wonderful place. You definitely need to get the fast track pass. We got passes for three rides and managed to ride three others. The lines are huge in early August. But that was to be expected. We had a great time!

One of the best places I've ever been to. Downsides: the food isn't cheap and the lines are long.

Key principles of both routes

  1. Zootopia and TRON are only available in the morning
Lines for these two main attractions start growing rapidly by 10:00 AM and peak in the afternoon (120–180 minutes). That’s why both itineraries have them scheduled for the first few hours after the park opens.
  2. You can save Pirates of the Caribbean for daytime.
This attraction has a very high capacity (boats depart every few seconds). Even during peak hours, the line moves quickly and rarely exceeds 45–60 minutes, unlike the 2–3 hour waits for TRON or Zootopia.
  3. Parade at 3:30 PM
The daytime parade splits your day in two. Before the parade, hit the main (S and A) attractions, and after the parade, switch to the secondary ones and enjoy a stroll.
  4. After the parade, the lines for B-rides get shorter
While most visitors crowd around the main attractions or head off to restaurants, wait times for Peter Pan's Flight, Rex's Racer, the carousel, and other less popular rides drop from 45–60 minutes down to 15–25. It’s the perfect window to calmly check off those last few items on your list.

Disney Town (the area next to the park)

Pros:

  • Food is 30–40% cheaper compared to the park.
  • You can leave the park and come back later (just keep your ticket and get a hand stamp).
  • A great option for dinner after a long day of exploring.

What to try:

  • The Cheesecake Factory — huge portions of American classics.
  • Din Tai Fung — the legendary xiao long bao soup dumplings.
  • Wagas — healthy bowls and smoothies for a light dinner.
  • Cheap and quick: KFC, Pizza Hut, or local food courts.

Tip: Plan your dinner in Disney Town after the fireworks (around 9:00 PM) — the restaurants are less crowded, and the prices will be a pleasant surprise compared to those inside the park.

Shanghai Disneyland Map | Is Disney Premier Access Worth It?

Shanghai Disneyland Premier Access: is it worth buying

What is Premier Access?

Premier Access is a paid service at Shanghai Disneyland (similar to FastPass in Paris or Lightning Lane in Orlando) that allows you to skip the line at attractions via a separate, shorter entrance. Simply put, you buy a park ticket (which just grants entry) and then purchase Premier Access for specific attractions so you don't have to wait in the general line for 1.5–3 hours.

How to purchase Premier Access on Trip.com

Trip.com is the recommended way for international travelers to book tickets and packages. Benefits of booking with Trip.com:

  • We accept international credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex)
  • The interface is entirely in English
  • Prices are often 10–18% lower than the official rates
  • Free cancellation up to 24 hours before your visit
  • Premier Access packages are available as part of combo offers

Premier Access options on Trip.com

On Trip.com, you can purchase Premier Access packages that include fast-track entry to several attractions:

Where to buy tickets to Shanghai Disneyland

Which attractions are worth booking with Premier Access

Experts recommend buying Premier Access only for the three most popular attractions — you can get through the rest in the regular line :

  1. Zootopia: Hot Pursuit — the newest and most popular attraction
  2. TRON Lightcycle Power Run — the fastest roller coaster in the park
  3. Soaring Over the Horizon — a flight over the world

Tip: Pirates of the Caribbean has a high capacity, so waiting in line is less tiring, and Premier Access isn't necessary for it.

Is it worth it?

Yes, if:

  • You only have one day in the park.
  • You want to see all the highlights without standing in line for hours.
  • Your budget allows for adding ~500–700 CNY (which is about 15–20% of the cost of a trip to Disneyland for one person).

No, if:

  • You have 2 days in the park — you can really stretch out the fun.
  • You arrived on a weekday during the off-season (queues are already 20–40 minutes long).
  • If you're on a budget, consider the Early Entry Pass (159 CNY) and arrive at the park early.

Alternative: Single Rider

Some attractions at Shanghai Disneyland have a special line for guests visiting solo. The purpose of this system is to fill empty seats that remain in trains or boats after all pairs, trios, and groups have taken their places.

Which attractions have Single Rider

Currently, official Single Rider lines are available for the following attractions at Shanghai Disneyland:

  1. Zootopia: Hot Pursuit
  2. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

This is a completely official service provided by the park itself. It doesn't require purchasing Premier Access, early entry, or any other paid add-ons. You simply walk up to the attraction entrance, look for the "Single Rider" sign, get in that line, and wait.

Shanghai Disneyland Map | 10 Tips for the Perfect Day

Useful tips for visiting Shanghai Disneyland
  1. Download the Shanghai Disney Resort App BEFORE your trip — it shows real-time wait times, a park map, and lets you access the Virtual Queue for TRON.
  2. Pack a small backpack — it’ll help you breeze through security.
  3. Stroller rental — 90 CNY per day (a great option if you're traveling with a little one).
  4. Single Rider — a separate line for solo riders. You'll get through faster, but this service isn't available for all attractions.
  5. Bring a thermos with you — you can refill it with water for free in the park.
  6. A raincoat for Roaring Rapids — buy one in advance or bring your own. They’ll cost you more inside the park.
  7. Early Entry for 159 CNY is the best investment if you aren't buying Premier Access.
  8. Phone charging — be sure to bring a power bank. Active use of the app drains the battery quickly.
