Worth it for the time and money spent

You have to walk 1.5 km after passing the ticket checkpoint, although the path isn't strenuous as it's partially shaded and winding through trees. There are small carts that take people up for an additional fee; in my opinion, it's not worth taking them if you're comfortable walking. Pit One (the first one you see from the front) is the most interesting, where the warriors are displayed. The other two pits aren't particularly noteworthy. There's also a very interesting museum with detailed information.

It's well worth a visit. The Terracotta Army is much more impressive in person than in photos, especially Pit 1, which is spectacular in scale. I recommend allowing at least two hours for a leisurely tour. Pit 2 and Pit 3 are also worth seeing, as they offer a more complete understanding of the different types of soldiers and their formations.

Terracotta Warriors Peak Season
Basically, the peak season for visiting the Terracotta Warriors runs from March through the end of November, and the biggest crowds tend to cluster around the following times.
- Spring (April-May): The weather is pleasant, and visitor numbers usually begin to rise.
- Summer break (July-August): schools are out, more families hit the road, and it's also the prime time for international visitors.
- National Day Golden Week (October 1–7): One of mainland China’s most important long holidays, when visitor numbers hit their annual peak. You’ll also see brief spikes around traditional festivals like Qingming, the Dragon Boat Festival, and the Mid-Autumn Festival.
During peak season, we recommend booking tickets and guided tours in advance and being prepared for longer lines. If possible, consider visiting on weekdays or during the off-season for a better experience.

The Terracotta Warriors Museum is divided into three pits, each with its own unique layout and features:
- Pit 1: The largest of the pits and the most spectacular. This is where the main formation of the Terracotta Army was unearthed, including infantry, cavalry, and chariots.

As a long-standing five-star hotel, its location is absolutely superb. You step right out onto Longshouyuan Station of Metro Line 2, and you truly appreciate this convenience when you're dragging your tired self back from a day out. Secondly, their service philosophy is excellent. On our first day, we arrived at 2 PM, and our room wasn't quite ready. The lobby staff, seeing us with our whole family, immediately arranged for five executive lounge afternoon teas, giving us a place to rest and recharge. The family room is incredibly spacious, so at night, two families could easily gather for dinner without feeling cramped at all. The daily housekeeping was also prompt and meticulous. The pool is quite child-friendly and good for beginners, staying open until 10 PM, which provides plenty of time. The hotel is close to a supermarket and Daming Palace National Heritage Park, making it incredibly good value for money during peak season. Facilities: All the fixtures are brand new. The shower pressure is great and very comfortable. There's no old or worn-out feeling as some negative reviews mentioned, only understated luxury.
Cleanliness: It's cleaned very well every day, and they even noticed we had a child and thoughtfully left two extra bottles of water, which was very attentive and considerate.
Ambiance: The antique-style decor is in keeping with the age of the hotel, and both the kids and elders really enjoyed this style. Since we're in a thousand-year-old capital, of course, we want to stay in a hotel with historical charm! There's a bronze carriage in the lobby and Tang Sancai pottery in the room, giving a feeling of traveling back 5000 years. My child even said our hotel is like a museum!

My first time trying this place, and I thought it was great! I booked the cheapest room, which I think was a 16-person dorm, but the front desk lady upgraded me to a 12-person one. I even extended my stay for another night.
The environment inside is quite peaceful. Everyone in the common areas is pretty respectful, except for a few loud shouts during billiards sometimes!
Oh, and there were a lot of foreigners, couples mostly, chatting among themselves – it had a nice vibe.
Since it was my first time, I wasn't familiar with everything and didn't prepare toiletries. When I went to shower, I even saw two guys coming out of the same stall, which honestly stunned me a bit.
However, the privacy in the restrooms and shower rooms is excellent; they're all enclosed. The hot water comes on quickly, the water pressure is strong, and everything is clean.
Everyone seemed pretty well-behaved. I mostly kept to myself, though, and didn't really interact with anyone. At one point, a foreigner asked me in English if he could use a stool. I honestly didn't understand anything he said, but I got his meaning and just waved my hand. He must have thought I was refusing him because he started to leave. I was so flustered I couldn't speak, just waving my hands around like fans, trying to convey my meaning. He must have seen my panic and understood, so he moved the stool. Only then could I relax and continue drinking my hot water alone. (I saw the front desk staff, both a guy and a lady, speaking English with the foreigners, and I was so envious! Ugh, I can only read English; I can't understand or speak it. I really need to practice my listening and speaking skills. I'll try my luck again next time.)
Overall, I think it's a pretty good place.
Oh, and its location is fantastic, right by the Bell Tower. But make sure you exit the correct subway station, or else a directionally challenged person like me will spend almost an hour wandering around trying to find it!FromBRL 34

Love love love this hotel!!! I stayed with my friend in a 2 bed 2 bath room for 8 nights and it was extremely spacious and comfortable. The rooms were very clean and the beds super super super comfy ( I could sleep it in all day but my itinerary was super full). The photos online are quite true to the actual room. They had extremely good service too, starting from the airport pickup, where they were on time and the car was spacious and luxurious! We did the 5 seater sedan at RMB100, the price is comparable to a didi premium but the difference is that they would track your flight and made sure to you were taken care of. The hotel even had Butler service and was very attentive, I could even get them to help store my friend's birthday cake sent from the local cake shop and send it up to us when we were back. The laundry service was handy for a long stay, it was easy to use (and we were on the same floor so it felt like home to just go to and from our room to the laundry room). The Qujiang Art Museum downstairs is definitely worth a visit. It's also very close to the Tang Paradise, and getting around by car is easy. Across the street is Joy City, which is great for dining and shopping. The musical fountain at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda is nice too. There's no butler service, no smart toilet 🚽, no welcome fruit, and no free minibar… BUT it's right next to Xi'an City Wall's Yongning Gate, with several large shopping malls nearby. The delivery robot 🤖 brings food right to your room, and the lobby bar has delightful piano music 🎶 in the evenings. The room soundproofing is excellent 👍. I highly recommend the hotel's buffet breakfast – it's great value for money, and you can try all sorts of local delicacies. You absolutely *must* try the freshly made Roujiamo 🥙 from the chef; it's crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and bursts with juice. This hotel was part of our spontaneous summer trip to Xi'an with the kids, and honestly, it's been the best hotel experience I've had in years! What really stood out:
1. The hotel's overall design is fantastic.

3. In the morning, you can enter Huaqing Palace directly from the hotel before other tourists arrive, making for a leisurely and pleasant visit. There are also hot springs in the room, so you can enjoy a relaxing soak before a good night's sleep, which is very refreshing. This was a spontaneous, short trip, a perfect reminder that plans often yield to the unexpected. Here I am in Xi'an, at the foot of the Qinling Mountains, longing to open my arms and embrace nature. I soaked in the cool breeze, the fragrant blossoms, and the gentle chirping of birds that seemed to whisper secrets. Every tiny flower here possesses a unique beauty; they don't need to be dazzling, yet their charm is utterly irresistible. It served as a beautiful reminder: you don't need to please anyone, and true happiness isn't given but earned through your own smile. I cherished the tranquility, the white swing nestled among flowers, and the vibrant green pomegranate trees adorned with their distinctive red blossoms. The shaded courtyard was a delight, featuring brightly colored rocking chairs, sun umbrellas, and a small pebble-built stream with stone and wooden bridges. In the stream, around twenty fluffy, super cute ducklings swam playfully, even hiding under lily pads when the sun grew strong. Two brown goats contentedly grazed on the lush green grass. I even playfully called out, 'Hello there, goat, can we be friends?' Haha, a unique soul indeed! The 'Eight-Point Black' rabbits were a constant favorite with the kids, and a proud white fox enjoyed its spacious cage – perhaps not its ideal home, but certainly one where its neighbors posed no challenge! Then there were the flocks of big white geese, honking away with gusto. There's also a vegetable garden, still growing. I hope to taste its fresh produce when I return – what a lovely thought! The evening scenery was enchanting, with countless small lights twinkling like stars in the sky. If you're feeling musical, you can even grab a microphone and sing a few songs. The rooms themselves were very comfortable, clean, and hygienic. For those with energy, brewing a pot of tea and chatting about life is a wonderful option. The entire hotel staff is highly professional, and their excellent service is evident at every step of your stay. While waiting for a ride-hailing car in the lobby, staff members would proactively approach me to ask about my destination and offer guidance for travel if I had questions. When I was taking photos in the lobby, staff members would also come over to help me find good angles and assist with the pictures. Whether it was checking in, having breakfast, or being at the hotel's pool or bar... in every scenario during my stay, I felt meticulous and thoughtful service, with many proactive and attentive touches that made for a very comfortable experience.
I especially want to thank Flora Qiu Jianyue from the concierge team. We had three suitcases with us, and the booked car couldn't fit all of them, so we needed to move luggage back and forth. It was the scorching midday sun in Xi'an, and I was waiting in the shade with my three children. I called her over to avoid the sun, but she insisted on staying in the scorching sun to look after our luggage, helped us move it back and forth, and arranged for a different car. This small detail was truly heartwarming.
The hotel's predecessor was the historic People's Grand Hotel, now part of the Sofitel Legend brand. The building itself boasts a rich historical heritage, but it's impeccably maintained. The furniture and public areas are kept in pristine condition, appearing new and polished, and everything is meticulously cared for, striking a perfect balance between old and new.
The breakfast selection is abundant, and the taste is excellent. The toiletries provided in the room are Maison Caulières 'L'Aube des Sens,' with a sophisticated and gentle fragrance that I really enjoyed.

I did a lot of research for my trip to Xi'an and finally settled on this hotel. The location is absolutely unbeatable. Xiangzimiao Street is right downstairs, full of unique shops. It was so convenient to explore late into the evening and just walk a few steps back to the hotel.
The biggest surprise was the fourth-floor terrace. Having breakfast there in the morning was a real 'wow' moment! It faces directly onto the Yongning Gate city wall, and the view is just incredible. Every photo I took looked great, and so many people asked me which hotel it was when I posted them. The breakfast tasted delicious, and I recommend the beef noodles. Honestly, just sitting there and eating felt so atmospheric.
The room itself was very clean, the bedding was comfortable, and the bathroom's wet/dry separation was well-done. My only minor regret is that the bar street downstairs can be a bit noisy at night, but the hotel provides earplugs, so I was still able to sleep.
