"The unfriendly manners of the staff spoiled the stay. The life guard spent most of the day cleaning his shoes, playing on his phone, and eating with Filipino customers. He told me as a foreigner that I'm not allowed to drink by the pool, whilst he let Filipino teenagers do somersaults, wear clothes not allowed according to the rules, kids run, and break rules, like mentioned. The restaurant was open for Filipino customers, but when I asked for food... they said the kitchen is closed. The reception staff were rude. The room was never cleaned or fresh towels or toiletries supplied. The whole place was a disgusting experience. I wouldn't ask Satan himself to stay there."

La Joya Farm Resort & Spa
"Our stay at La Joya was a mix of breathtaking scenery, warm hospitality from most of the staff, and a deeply disappointing booking experience. To start with the highlights: the service staff were truly exceptional. From housekeeping to the restaurant servers, the lifeguard, the maintenance crew, and even the massage therapists — everyone was professional, kind, and attentive. The resort itself is stunning, nestled on top of the beautiful Aloguinsan mountains. We stayed in their dome tents for the unique experience, and it absolutely did not disappoint. The view alone was worth the trip. However, the way the resort handled my bookings was very disappointing and overshadowed what could have been a perfect stay. I originally booked three dome tents for six adults. Days later, I saw the same three dome tents listed on Agoda for eight people at a much lower rate, so I booked again. The payment was successfully charged to my credit card. Wanting to cancel my first booking (which had free cancellation) and secure the second one, I called the resort. Because it was after 9 PM, a maintenance staff member answered and asked me to call back the next day. I did — and ended up spending $102 CAD on long-distance calls, only to be met with the same response from the front desk clerk: that she would speak to her manager and get back to me. I provided my WhatsApp number since I was calling from Canada. No one ever called back. When we checked in on February 12 around 8 PM, Arlene at the front desk was unsympathetic and still had no answers for me. The following day, I followed up with the same woman I spoke with long distance and was told the same thing: “I will speak to our manager.” Even after staying for 2 nights and 3 days, no one from management reached out or provided any resolution. We ended up paying significantly more due to the lack of communication and follow-through. The two women at the front desk would benefit from more training on handling different guest scenarios, especially situations involving bookings, cancellations, and rate discrepancies. A little empathy and clear communication would have made a huge difference. La Joya is a beautiful resort with hardworking staff who deliver an excellent on-site experience. But management needs to seriously improve their responsiveness and guest communication, especially for front desk operations. A simple follow-up or acknowledgment could have prevented so much frustration."
Fili Hotel at NUSTAR Cebu
"I had a wonderful stay at Fili Hotel and was truly impressed from start to finish. The hotel is beautifully designed, with modern interiors and a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere. Every detail, from the lobby to the rooms, feels thoughtfully curated and elegant. The room was spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The bed was incredibly cozy, and the amenities provided made the stay even more convenient and relaxing. I also appreciated the peaceful ambiance, which made it easy to unwind. The staff were exceptional—friendly, professional, and always ready to help with a warm smile. Their hospitality truly made the experience memorable. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, which I appreciated. While there were many options available, I feel there is still a little room for improvement in terms of selection and variety. That said, the food was fresh and nicely prepared. Overall, Fili Hotel exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cebu, and I’m definitely looking forward to staying here again!"

"The hotel is about a 15-minute taxi ride from the airport, which is true and very convenient. You're greeted with live music at the entrance. Security is present: security checkpoints, baggage scanning, and guards with dogs. The hotel has its own beach and three entrances to the sea. The water is crystal clear, fish swim right off the shore, and life jackets are free. The hotel is very family-friendly. There are water slides, a kids' club, and a huge playroom. You can even leave your child with a nanny (for an additional fee). There are daily activities for both children and adults, including arcade machines, air hockey, and morning yoga. Breakfast is included, and it's excellent. There are two restaurants, a huge selection of food, and everything is delicious. Even ice cream is included. After breakfast, children are given marbles—a small change, but a nice touch. Lunch and dinner are extra. There are Italian and Cantonese restaurants, as well as various buffets. There are bars on the beach, by the pool, and in the lobby. Live music plays in the evening, creating a great atmosphere. The grounds are vast: golf, mini-golf, tennis, billiards, table tennis, and badminton. Wi-Fi works great throughout the property. The staff is very friendly. The main drawback is the renovations; they need a refresh. However, the service and infrastructure are still excellent."

"Best thing about Seda Ayala Center is the location. It's right in the center of the business district. It is also connected to Ayala Mall. Breakfast buffet was good. Staff was accommodating and friendly. Attentive to needs. Bed linen was a bit rundown, although clean, they looked old and greyish. Overall look of hallways and guestrooms feels dated and old. Bed wasn't very comfortable as the mattress was parang old style spring bed pa. My husband got woken up every time i moved."

The staff are very friendly and the rooms spacious but a discerning traveler will notice the torn curtain shades or the uninteresting bread options on a Saturday morning breakfast buffet. The pool itself looks inviting and the room air conditioning quite cold. But if one drives 3 hours for the famed Daan Bantayan beach, be disappointed. the beach isnt worth wading on. Neither is the sand fine."

"Rooms are very clean and feel brand new, with a minimalist design that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. The place feels exclusive and peaceful. No noise at all. The water is incredibly clear, and we even saw sea turtles right from the shore (we got to swim with them without going far!). The only challenge we had is the lack of nearby restaurants and stores. You’ll need to travel about 15 minutes to Oslob for more options. Overall, we’d definitely come back! Plus the staffs are friendly too 😉"
