"We had a great stay at Holiday Inn Downtown Toronto! The hotel is conveniently located near the heart of downtown, making it easy to explore nearby restaurants, shops, and attractions. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout my stay. The only small downside was the hotel parking, which was a little pricey at $40 per day. However, there are plenty of cheaper parking options nearby, so it wasn’t a major issue. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely stay here again!"

"The room was quite spacious, theoretically able to accommodate three people, which made it great value for money, but that was pretty much its only redeeming quality. Downsides: 1. No complimentary bottled water. 2. I booked a king-sized bed, but they gave me a twin room (claiming the price was the same, and when I went to check out a king room, there were a bunch of hairdryers being used, so I had no choice but to stay in the twin). 3. I stayed for two nights, and after the first night, no one cleaned the room or changed the towels on the second day (thankfully, I was staying alone and still had some to use). So, the low rating is definitely warranted."

"The hotel itself was nice — the rooms were clean, modern, and well maintained. Unfortunately, the service really affected our overall experience. The receptionist had a poor attitude and was not very welcoming. On the third day, our room was not cleaned, even though we had informed the cleaning staff before leaving. They try to do in the evening, but they also ‘forgot’ to do while we had waited for an hour with the kids not sleeping. It was really frustrating. On our last day, the bedsheets were also not changed despite us specifically requesting it. We raised these issues with the hotel, and while they did offer some compensation, the overall experience was still disappointing because of the service problems."

"Hotel itself is ok, however, checkin was denied even 2 hours after confirmed booking as hotel did not have our booking info. We have to call 3 different Trip.com toll free numbers for help but each of them said 'not my department' and gave us another number to make the next unsuccessful call. It took just about 1 hour to finally sort out the checkin issue. Then sometimes later, I got another confirmation with a revised booking number, the previous one got lost? This event has left a bad taste in my mouth and unfortunately will make me hesitate to book thru Trip.com next time."

"Considering it's a hostel, the bed creaked every time I moved, which made me feel a bit self-conscious. It was a blizzard that day, and the staff were wonderful for letting me stay even before check-in. Aside from the outdated facilities, it seems like a good place for a short stay."

"The staff were very polite and respectful, which we appreciated. However, there were several issues during the stay. The app states that the security deposit can be paid in cash, but when we arrived, the staff seemed reluctant to accept a cash deposit, which was confusing and inconvenient. The room was definitely not very clean, though it was still manageable. The air conditioning does not work — only wall fans are available. The hotel is also quite noisy 24 hours a day, making it hard to sleep. In addition, the lower part of the hotel is under repairs, and the noise from that also disturbs guests at night. The location is okay, but the street is rarely cleared of snow, which can make access difficult. Overall, the staff are kind, but the comfort and facilities could be improved."

"Friendly staff at front desk, smooth check-in. There’s everything you need in the sparkly clean room even though i stayed the smallest room. Laundry is available. Location is excellent. There is a 24-hour convenience store cross the main street. The neighborhood is lovely. Really enjoyed the stay. Will consider comeback next time."

"This is a University of Toronto student dormitory, likely rented out to non-students during the summer break when many students move out. Access is by key card, so security and hygiene are good. The vanity had two disposable cups and a small bar of soap, tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, along with bath towels, face towels, and hand towels. The bathroom had one roll of toilet paper, and the closet contained three wire hangers. There were no water cups or toothbrush cups. On the second day, I asked the front desk for disposable cups and garbage bags but was told they were out. There's no toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, slippers, hairdryer, kettle, fridge, microwave, or safe. When I checked in, I asked to borrow a hairdryer and was told they'd have one in the morning. However, when I went back the next day, they said I needed a student ID as collateral to borrow it. The communal kitchen and washing machines are for students only. If you stay long-term, cleaning is provided once every seven days; otherwise, you're on your own. When booking, pay close attention, as some rooms don't have private bathrooms. Make sure to bring your own toothpaste, toothbrush, slippers, hairdryer, and kettle. A universal travel adapter (like a Bull brand one) would be very useful. Just one block to the left is a 7-Eleven. A bit further down is a larger supermarket with fresh produce, milk, eggs, bread, fruit, and other daily necessities. It's about 1 km to both the University of Toronto and Chinatown, making them easily walkable. The Royal Ontario Museum is about 1 km away, and the Art Gallery of Ontario is just under 2 km. Lake Ontario is about 5-6 km away as the crow flies. The room facilities are very convenient for students. I'm not sure if it's open to non-students outside of academic breaks."

"The room was clean. I had hoped for a room with a bathtub, but it seems to be assigned randomly, so I got a shower-only room. The view wasn't great (I could see a large building under construction), but the room was sunny. There's a restaurant on the first floor which I used for dinner and breakfast before leaving. The portions were generous and the prices reasonable. There was a mini-fridge, but it didn't cool very well. In the mornings, there's self-service coffee and tea in the lobby. I heard there's also a wine service in the evenings, but I didn't get to use it as the timing didn't work out. The location is good, and the surrounding area is safe and relatively clean."

"We booked this hotel for the adults only pool, being that it was March break they allowed children into the adults only pool (as well as there being a children’s pool). We would have liked this information beforehand as the pool was the reason for booking. We were only able to get access to the pool between 10-11pm. Otherwise hotel was very clean, we had a standard queen room which was really nice with a comfortable bed. Bathroom needs some renovations, especially the bath/shower situation. We enjoyed our stay but we feel that information about the pool should have been known upfront and not made aware to us upon check in"
