I was looking for a cozy experience in Jiufen. I had a hard time choosing a hotel that felt perfect for me. I decided to stay at Twilight House.
I had read that the hotel was up some stairs, but I don’t think I was prepared for just how many stairs I’d have to climb haha.
The instructions for checking-in were pretty straightforward, and I received answers to my questions in a promptly manner.
My room was very nice, I had liked the aesthetic from the pictures online.
The only downfall was that the room had a musty smell. I communicated my concern through WhatsApp and an air freshener was left for me. I was a little disappointed that not even coffee packs were provided, but there are two green tea bags and small cheese bags.
Overall, I had a decent stay. :)
I was very satisfied with my stay here. The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient for getting around and dining, with plenty of amenities nearby. The front desk staff were very friendly and efficient with both check-in and check-out, and patiently answered all my questions. The room was clean and tidy, with good lighting and ventilation. The bedding was soft and comfortable, ensuring a sound night's sleep. The bathroom was spotless, well-stocked with toiletries, and had consistent water pressure and temperature. The soundproofing was good, so it was quiet at night with no disturbance from noise. Overall, the atmosphere is warm and elegant, and the facilities are well-maintained. It offers great value for money, perfect for both business trips and leisure travel. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in town. Highly recommend!
It truly is a tiny, tiny double room. Like, 2 square meters plus the bathroom. You shower right over the toilet. It was clean, but I still had a cockroach visit me in the bathroom. The breakfast was delicious, it was warm, and Bert was great. Absolutely no space for two people. The room door opens directly onto an empty sidewalk outside.

This is definitely theee place to stay on your first trip to Jiufen. I am really impressed by the room. You've got everything you need, and a really good size shower, even for a single room! On top of that, there's even a complimentary breakfast to kick off your day after a good night sleep. And of course, the location is brilliant, being at the heart of the market, and just steps away from the bus stop if you're coming by bus. All in all, this is a must stay and I am incredibly glad I made the last minute reservation here.
Jiufen Sunny Room, originated ten years ago when a young couple came to Jiufen for a visit and were so enchanted by the beauty of the mountain town that they planted a dream plan to settle here. From the search for the best place to see Haiti to the architectural design that incorporates the Jiufen style, the B&B owners, who are interested in casting and painting, decorated each room together with the couple. You can put your worries aside for a while and feel their dedication and ingenuity everywhere you go, enjoying the tranquility outside the window and being immersed in nature.

The hotel is at a good location with direct access to the old street via a flight of stairs. However, if you drive there, carpark is limited and there is no elevators so you will need to carry your luggage (no matter how heavy) to your room. I like especially the breakfast - it's calming to have breakfast by the fireplace over looking the mountains.
This is the best hostel I've ever stayed at. They even have smart toilets, and the showers are excellent. The only downside is climbing to the third floor via a somewhat narrow and steep staircase, but that's understandable in a mountainous area. They'll help you with your luggage. The specific capsule I stayed in couldn't be locked from the inside, but it felt very safe regardless. It often rains and gets foggy in the mountains here, so next time I'd love to stay for a few days to experience clear skies. It's a very enchanting, ancient-feeling place with a real story and atmosphere.
Nostalgic Inn will make you fall in love with Jiufen Old Street; Nostalgic Inn will make you fall in love with traveling. If you have a busy life, you can take a break from it in Jiufen. Nostalgic Inn warmly welcomes you here~ The antique decoration of the B&B adds a bit of poetic and picturesque feeling, which also makes this trip full of simplicity. In addition, the B&B also has sea view suites, which allow you to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the blue sea and blue sky and forget the worldly things. trouble. Jiufen Yuanyi B&B has a wide view of the sea and is backed by mountains. It is also close to Jiufen Old Street, which is very convenient!

This trip allowed me to temporarily step away from my daily grind and experience life at a different pace. The scenery along the way, the local hospitality, and the unique culture all left a deep impression on me. By actually visiting and observing, I not only saw the sights but also learned to slow down and truly appreciate the present moment. This journey has become an unforgettable and rewarding memory.
If you want to fully enjoy the scenery of Jiufen day and night, Windsor Sunlight Han-Guan B&B is a good accommodation choice. The room is spacious and comfortable, the glass windows are wide and clean, and the big bed is right in front of the window. You can see the beautiful Jiufen morning lying on the bed!

This was a wonderful place to stay. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great so we couldn't fully enjoy the views, but I imagine they would have been stunning on a clear day. Relaxing on the terrace was also very pleasant.
Breakfast was delivered right to our room, and the sandwiches were absolutely delicious.
The staff were very kind and responded quickly whenever we messaged them on LINE with questions.

The room was clean and tidy, the host was very welcoming, and there was a microwave and oven in the living room. The breakfast was plentiful and the bread was delicious. It's a great place for friends to relax and unwind!
The unique old-style architecture and rich, authentic cultural atmosphere leave a lasting impression on travelers visiting Jiufen.

The location is excellent!
It's close to the bus stop, the entrance to Jiufen's main tourist area, and convenience stores. It was so easy to drop off our luggage before heading out to explore. Jiufen has a lot of stairs; I saw people struggling with suitcases, climbing about 100 steps during my visit, and it looked very tough.
The service is also great! I requested a late check-in via LINE, and they sent me photos with directions. All communication was in Japanese.
The shower has hot water! The shower is located right before the toilet, so the floor in front of the toilet and sink can get wet. However, it's not an issue if you wear the hotel's slippers.
We didn't see any bugs, which was a plus.
There's a water dispenser (with hot water available) on the ground floor in the common area, along with instant coffee and other amenities.
I highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Jiufen! We took a bus back to Taipei at 11 AM the next day, and the bus was empty, even though it was a weekday.

Very Good
NNguyen Do Nha UyenAfter coming back from Taiwan, I suddenly realized I hadn’t posted any photos or written a review about the adorable wooden cabin our family stayed in at Jiufen. Everyone in my family loved this place so much that I had to jot everything down now that I finally have some free time.
Most people I know usually stay in Taipei longer and just make a day trip to Jiufen without spending the night. As for me—I’ve lived in Hong Kong for quite a while, so compared to Hong Kong, Taipei didn’t leave much of an impression on me in terms of sights or food. The only thing that truly made me want to visit Taiwan was Jiufen — a sparkling little gem between the mountains and the sea 🏮🌿🌊
Jiufen feels like a dreamy fairytale village with its winding narrow alleys, steep stone stairways, and the warm glow of red lanterns everywhere. Walking around felt like stepping into another world, almost like a scene from a manga — especially for anyone who’s watched Spirited Away.

⭐🛖 Review of the wooden cabin called Twilight Forest in Jiufen
Just a 5-minute walk from the Old town, this wooden cabin brings together the warm glow of wood and the peaceful feeling of retreating into nature. It has a unique A-frame design, and at night, when the lights turn on, the whole place becomes incredibly cozy — the golden light shining through the windows and the plants around it create a “hideaway from the world” kind of vibe.
Inside, the space is open, airy, and tastefully decorated in a rustic style. There’s a small terrace with a swing chair hanging straight from the ceiling — sitting there at night, listening to insects and the wind rustling through the leaves, feels genuinely healing 🙃.
🛁🌿 Highlight: The glass-walled bathroom in the garden
This is the standout feature of the cabin. The bathtub is large and comfortable, placed right next to a 180° glass wall looking directly into a lush green garden. Natural daylight pours in, making your daytime bath feel like an outdoor spa surrounded by plants. (There’s also a roller blind if you need privacy)
Jiufen is a tiny village perched on a mountain, and it doesn’t have many hotels that offer spacious, comfortable accommodations. That’s why I was so happy to find this wooden cabin. Our family had the most wonderful two-night stay here.
If I ever return to Taipei, I would definitely book this place again ❤️
YYanapatra WinaisiwilaiI had visited Jiufen, Taiwan once before, but this second trip truly exceeded expectations. The view, the atmosphere, the service, and the host’s attention to detail were all absolutely outstanding.
The scenery from the accommodation was breathtaking — truly a million-dollar view! The room itself was spacious, almost like staying in an entire house. The price per person came out to just a little over 1,100 THB, but what we received was far more valuable than what we paid.
The host was incredibly kind and thoughtful, offering us detailed travel suggestions and making us feel as if we were staying at a friend’s home. What touched us the most was that, on the day we left, the host even rode a motorbike to personally drop us off at the bus stop.
It’s the little acts of kindness like that that make a place unforgettable.
NNorthern StarsLocated near Banqiao with metro, train and bus station about 10 minutes walk away. Easy access to and fro airport and going south to Taichung and Miaoli for our side trips. Mega city, Global Mall near by and 诚品 just 1 street away. Nice swimming pool. Room is clean, spacious and bed is comfortable. Friendly and courteous housekeeping staff. Conceirge lady in attendance was very helpful in helping us locate a shop which we lost touch for quite some time. Also assist in getting careful and friendly driver to bring us to YangMingShan for a half day tour!
GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay at Hotel Cham Cham Taipei. Everything exceeded my expectations from start to finish. The hotel is very clean, modern, and well-maintained, making it extremely comfortable for families.
The location is excellent—very convenient with easy access to public transportation, shopping areas, and plenty of food options nearby. It made exploring Taipei effortless, especially with family members.
The room itself was spacious, cozy, and perfect for relaxing after a full day of exploring.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel, especially for families looking for comfort, convenience, and great service in Taipei. Would definitely stay here again!
TTr.HWe had a wonderful stay in the family suite at Jasper Young Hotel. The room was spacious, thoughtfully designed, and very clean, which made it perfect for traveling with family. The layout was practical and comfortable, with plenty of room for everyone to relax. Service was also excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and quick to assist whenever needed. Overall, a very pleasant and hassle-free experience.
SsorloMy family and I stayed at the Yun Estate Hotel this past December, and we had a truly lovely time. Nestled in a quiet area, the hotel offers the perfect sense of serenity and escape from the usual hustle and bustle.
The absolute highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the accommodation. The room was incredibly spacious, but the game-changer was the private in-room hot spring. It provided a relaxing and enjoyable experience for all of us, and the kids absolutely loved splashing around in the warm water.
We opted to have breakfast delivered to our room, which was a convenient and nice touch in theory. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful but it looked way better than it tasted, unfortunately. While the meal wasn't bad, the flavor didn't quite match the high standard of the presentation.
For the little ones, the hotel is a dream. There is a playroom where they can watch movies, as well as a mini race track where they can drive electric cars. To top it off, the unlimited supply of drinks and snacks was a huge hit with them, making the stay feel extra special.
Overall, we had a wonderful experience and are already looking forward to returning in the near future. Highly recommended for families looking for a relaxing retreat.
GGuest UserCons: Check-out was at 11 AM, and they called at 10:30 AM to remind me, which I found quite intrusive. I've stayed in so many hotels around the world, and this is the first time a hotel has called to rush me out before check-out time. They called it a friendly reminder, but it really felt like they were just urging me to leave, which left a very bad impression.
Also, the items displayed in the room had Chinese descriptions, making me feel like I was in China.
Pros: The room was very spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was good. The bathroom had a bathtub, perfect for a relaxing soak. Overall, it was clean.
AAnonymous UserThe location is super convenient—right on the airport MRT line and directly across from Sanchong Station. Around the hotel, there’s a local supermarket, Starbucks, and even a mall with lots of restaurants, so finding food is really easy.
We also got a free room upgrade, which was such a nice surprise. The bed was HUGE (felt like 240x200!) and the room itself was super spacious. Overall, super happy with the stay!
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is very conveniently located- near bus stops and a short walk away from the MRT Sanchong Station.
The hotel staff are accommodating and very helpful. The building is dated but well-maintained.
If I go back to Taiwan, will probably stay in this hotel again. PIt has become home in the week that I stayed there.
台台中阿源The reception staff was very friendly. I didn't have dinner there. The equipment was a bit old. Breakfast was available the next day, but it was simple. There was nothing special to order. I had thick slices, boiled eggs, and tomatoes that day. The air was pretty good.
