"I had a great stay at Hotel Flandrischer Hof! The location is excellent — right in the heart of Cologne and just a short walk from everything I needed. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which made it easy to relax after a busy day.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty with a good variety. I’d definitely stay here again next time I visit the city. Great value for the price!"
"The location is also a very nice place and the price-performance ratio is also very good. I would definitely recommend it. The fact that breakfast is included is also an advantage, so it is definitely a perfect place to stay."
"The *** of the waiter for Check in is not welome our live in .and sugget we to another Ibis .and no hot water supply .I have ask the hot water service but the waiter is not care for it ."
"This stay was a truly fantastic experience, earning a five-star rating!
The hotel's location is a real plus. It's right next to the subway station and a few minutes' walk from the shopping district and food court, making it incredibly convenient for shopping and dining. The most surprising thing was the service. The front desk clerk greeted us with a smile throughout, checking us in quickly, and proactively recommended nearby hidden gems and must-try restaurants, even providing tips on avoiding pitfalls. He was incredibly thoughtful.
The room exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and bright, and the cleanliness was impeccable. The sheets and duvet cover had a subtle fragrance and were wrinkle-free. The bedding was as soft as a cloud, making it impossible to get up. The soundproofing was excellent, so I couldn't hear any outside noise at night, and I slept soundly until I woke up naturally, completely free of fatigue. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, complete with toiletries, and the hot water supply was always available."
"Disappointed in standard of hotel, on arrival was told all parking was booked out. Room on 3rd floor was small with unwanted extra bed taking up spare space. Bathroom was adequate with shower over bath which had a high step in and no handholds barely adequate shower curtain did not stop water spilling onto floor.
Noisy location next to lift and noise from adjacent hotel late into night twice with patrons waking us up at 2am on return to room's.
Breakfast was ok with reasonable choice, plenty of black coffee.
Overall would not choose to stay again even at budget pricing."
"Overall, it was excellent. The hotel has many rooms, and the rooms themselves are very spacious. Housekeeping cleans daily. There's a restaurant on the first floor with good food, making it definitely worth a stay. It's also very close to the Cologne Exhibition Centre, with a subway station right outside the hotel that gets you there in just 3 stops. Getting to Cologne Central Station is also super convenient, as there's a direct bus right in front of the hotel!"
"lovely lobby with charging amenities and places to rest and study, the staff was also very nice helped fix a coffee machine when it was broken and refunded my coffee. also very near to metro station (see pics) definitely recommended for solo travelers."
"The location of the hotel is good. Rooms were generally clean but pretty narrow when you go to the toilet. Beds were comfortable. When I asked they gave us kettle and glass. This is also a nice act!
If you check in earlier you have to pay 30 euros extra. Therefore we arrived at the hotel at 15:06, and the receptionist told that they haven’t made the room ready for third person. Our reservation did include third person from beforehand. When we entered the room, it was so hot that it was not possible to breathe normally. My guess they just forgot about us entering, even though we came beforehand to put our luggage and reminded them we would be back for 3pm."

Amazing
GGuest UserIt's located across from Cologne Cathedral, and looks spectacular lit up at night. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I was happy to have free water in the room, but perhaps because Germany is an environmentally advanced country, it was bottled water rather than plastic bottles. It's inconvenient to carry around, but it was enough for making tea in the room.
If I had to say something negative, it would be that you have to cross a bridge to get to Cologne Cathedral and the station, but you have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel entrance. It was a bit inconvenient to go up and down with a suitcase.
GGuest UserThe room was nice and spacious. We went here in the winter and the heater worked well and it stayed pretty warm. It had everything we needed here and you can request things and services through there website (for free). The hotel also had a sauna and fitness to use for free. We only used the sauna and it was really relaxing. The only downside was that the location wasn’t that optimal for the places we wanted to visit.
OOlaf HsiehThis hotel in Cologne had a great location! While not right in the city center, it was still within walking distance and felt a bit quieter and more peaceful than being right in the hustle and bustle. We stayed during a heatwave, so the free lemon-infused iced water in the lobby was an absolute godsend. Plus, the rooftop view was amazing, with clear sights of famous landmarks!
Sstrongtea929The biggest advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the Central Station and the Cathedral. Traveling with my child from Edinburgh to Cologne, our flight was delayed, plus a one-hour time difference, so by the time we got out of the train station, it was almost midnight. Luckily, the hotel was just a 5-minute walk away. Since our train was leaving at 2 PM the next day, I requested a 1 PM late check-out, which they granted. After a delicious and substantial breakfast (the hotel breakfast is great!), we headed to the Cathedral, which was just across the train station. The room size was significantly larger than similarly priced hotels I've stayed in the UK, which was a nice bonus.
GGuest UserThis hotel is really good. Maybe it's because the hotels I stayed at in Paris were too small, but arriving in Germany, this hotel was spacious and very clean. Although the facilities are a bit old, they are well-maintained. The breakfast was also decent, and the staff always gave me bottled mineral water. The owner seems to be Chinese and was very friendly. It was a really great experience, and I'd recommend it to my friends.
GGuest UserStruggled to get through to the hotel as the phone number on the app used to make booking was in correct. The hotel is easy to find and transport links from the airport I give a 10/10 plus connection to the city was super easy. Upon arrival, the service desk staff were pleasant and apologised. Finally checked in and the room was clean and well done. However, my room was facing the major road and extremely noisy during the entire stay as the road is a busy one.
Ordered a late dinner and disappointed with my under done beef patty, the bun it came with required an electric knife to get through. I did complain and an apology was given.
Now, the hotel room doors bang whenever they’re being closed and made my stay unbearable. Something definitely needs to be done as I was put off!! Before retiring to bed, I hung the notice to not be disturbed..alas! the following morning after breakfast I just wanted to have a quiet time but I was rudely interrupted, disturbed coupled with the loud doors as the cleaners went about their inspections 2 x in a space of 10 minutes.
I would have loved to stay here on future visits but it’s a NO!!
The breakfast was lovely, sauna and swimming pool facilities too. I did not use the gym. Otherwise it’s in a good safe location.
GGuest UserThe hotel is situated at around 5 minute walk from the Train Station. We arrived the hotel by a late ICE train at night, there is no problem regarding safety or ease of access. The reception is 24 hours manned, and has a self-service drink kiosk which you find rare to be free on European budget hotel chains. Overall lovely staff and big hotel. Note this hotel has only stair access, but to be fair for the price we paid for it is totally acceptable.
AAnonymous UserThe location is perfect, only few minutes walk from the central station. The staff was also nice and friendly, enough support. And there is dryer available, which was nice.
But overall, the room and corridor looks really like a prison or hospital, not at all giving the vibe of holiday stay...
Luggage storage was available for free! we can store luggage until 11pm on the day of check out.
There was no kitchen.
There is locker OUTSIDE the room, which is so weird. We need to use our own padlock to lock the locker but most of them were occupied or not working (broken). Even with the padlock, it could be open easily so I did not use the locker. It seemed there is not enough number of lockers available compared to the number of the rooms and beds, at least lockers that are not broken.
There is no curtain no privacy, even is a mixed gender room. It really feeled like a jail or something. The bedside light is too bright so that if one of us turn it on, the whole room could be bright enough, which is ridiculous. Also the sound proof was terrible that we can hear people outside singing, screaming and DJ-ing midnight, even with our windows and curtains closed. The sound of closing the door was so loud and the door seemed half broken. Also we could hear people talking in the corridor.
The shower and toilet were also outside the room and they smelled so bad. Did not feel clean.
