Hotels near Bocchan Wind up Clock, Matsuyama

Very nice place, near all the onsen places. They provide Yukata set for you to wear and walk around the area. Overall, very recommended

The place is really accessible to Dogo Onsen. It is clean & the front desk staff is kind & welcoming. She also tried her best to talk to me in English. My only problem is that since the divider is so thin that I could hear the loud snore of the person in the room & the sounds in the next room. Hoping they would provide earbuds to their guests or bring your own. Toilets are only two on the 2nd floor, one of them is for both gender which will be troublesome if everyone leaves at the same time. But generally it is a good place to stay.

I was there at Jan 2024, and only stayed there for 2 days. The staff there can speak English, and were nice. The second day I stayed there, the staff offered me to have hotpot with all the other people living in Fujiya, an unforgettable experience I treasured and will forever remembered. Even though it is a proxy of a Japanese family, it did feel like I have experienced the Japanese hospitality and friendliness. There were some interesting characters, who may or may not frequented Fujiya, whom I had the pleasure to have this hotpot together. The facilities are not the best, but the basics necessities were there and no complaining from me, they have an AC there, comfortable enough for me. The staff did explain that there is only one shower, so we might have to wait for the person to finish. However, since the location is so close to Dogo Onsen, they did recommend to go there instead, and after all, it was why i chose this location in the first place. Location is really close to the Dogo Onsen and the Yuzuki-Castle ruin, which was a lifesaver for me I would say that all other sight-seeing locations are within walking distance as well since I did walk to all those interesting places. However, I do realize not all people like to walk like I do. To counter that, Fujiya is practically next to the tram station, which you can use it to go to many places in the city. tldr, would recommend

Conventient location; 10 minute walk to nearest bus station, and about 30 minutes max travel time to anywhere we wanted to go! Room was clean and compact; but the double bed is quite squeezy if you're fitting two people inside. Buffet breakfast is 1300¥ if you inquire the day before you intend to eat. It is 1500¥ if you buy it on the day itself. Accidentally booked a smoking room; but the staff were kind enough to change it for us once they had a room.

This hotel is very conveniently located. It's within walking distance of the ropeway to Matsuyama Castle and very close to trams going in both directions around the city center. My wife and I would definitely stay here again; it's less congested than the Dogo Onsen area. The staff are all very kind. The bed was very comfortable.

6 people, the space is large enough. The first time I lived in a youth hostel with large floor-to-ceiling windows. The location is very good, I make my own bed, I feel more at ease. There are free bags of coffee and tea bags. The boss is very good and patiently explains the details to every guest. Fluent in English. It is recommended to repair the stairs.

I booked a 3-person (4-person) room with a mattress, and it was nice that the room was spacious enough and had a separate space to organize my suitcases. There was an induction stove and kettle, so I was able to make tea or simply eat cup ramen. The room was very clean and the blanket was thick. If you are traveling as a family of three, I would definitely recommend this room. There is a large supermarket a 3-minute walk away, so it is easy to shop and there are many convenience foods. It's an 8-minute walk from downtown Dogo Onsen, but it's closer than it looks on the map. It is a distance that you can easily walk to the hot springs late at night. If your goal is a hot spring, I highly recommend it. I traveled all on foot, and it takes about 20 minutes to walk to Matsuyama Castle Cable and about 30 minutes to Okaido. The downside was that there were no staff fluent in English, but it wasn't a big problem. He was kind and made an effort to explain the room well in a mix of English, Japanese, and Korean. thanked! This hotel is located near Dogo Onsen. Although you need to climb uphill for a while, this small inconvenience is completely made up for by the excellent hot spring facilities. The hotel's hot spring facilities are complete, the environment is clean and comfortable, and you can completely relax. From the warm reception of the service staff to the careful settings in the room, everyone feels at home. If you are looking for a truly relaxing hot spring trip, this is recommended

The front desk was really helpful, even preparing a map to introduce us to food spots around the hotel! Despite the language barrier, they also managed to solve the payment error for us (thank you!!) It is a bit of a walk from the JR station but it is right next to the tram station.

I used this as accommodation during my pilgrimage. It was clean, had a large public bath and coffee service, and I had a very pleasant stay. I could see Matsuyama Castle from the window on the 13th floor. The amenities were also a nice touch.
