Caiyunjian Boutique Inn (Renwen Tese) Reviews

Location is close to most of the scenic spots within the ancient city. Walk outside is umbrella street already. However it is abt 12 mins walk to the north gate. Which is the nearest point for vehicles. Place is very clean, bed is comfy, wifi is good. Has a washer and dryer on 2nd floor. I stayed for 3 days but there was no cleaning. Which is my fault as apparently have to communicate with the management to schedule. No place to hang clothes. Place has a very friendly cat! Which came into the room to do inspection on my first day haha. Boss is super nice!! He helped me arranged yulong snow mountain tour and also transport to shangri-la at good rates. Very friendly service!! Will return next time i am in the area.

Location is perfect. Room amazing and wide enough for 2 people and 3 luggage. Just the garden looks like not been maintain. Staff not really helpful when i checkout. Checkin process is good.

Beautiful and quaint room, with a huge bathroom including a bathtub. Disposable bathtub cover is provided as well. Location is about 5mins walk from Mu Palace. Owners are helpful and helped us arrange for our luggages to be transported to the gate of the ancient town, even though we checked out earlier than their operating hours (usually 10am to 10pm).

Everything is good but don’t book tour packages from inn

Everyone there was very hospitable (including the cat, Nian Nian!), I was treated to a lot of snacks and tea, and was invited to have a family styled dinner with the staff there. I also really enjoyed the common area where visitors and the staff can all relax and chat. Perfectly fine room which made it hard for me to leave its comfort. Will definitely come visit again.

There is a pickup service to and from the inn. If you use any non-Chinese booking service, make sure to contact them to arrange a pickup, as it seems they are unable to get our contact information from the platform. Dragging your luggage on the stone pavement is very tough. I did not know this prior to arriving at the inn. Service was excellent. We were served tea while being checked in, and the innkeeper also gave us tips and suggestions about the old town. My girlfriend fell sick during our stay, and upon knowing that, the innkeeper offered to bring breakfast to our room should she feel incapable of going down to the dining room.

Overall: Underwhelming. - Location: In the middle of the Old Town, which is great for exploring the area. That said, taxis can only drop you off at the outskirt of the area so you need to walk for about 10 minutes. Most of the footpaths are cobblestone and it’s a nightmare if you’re carrying heavy suitcases. - Cleanliness: Generally ok, but shocked to see two dirty bath mats (photo attached). - Room: Renovated but still looked tired. Playing with the Chinese AI gadget was fun, but you need to speak Chinese to turn the lights on/off and draw curtains. My room was so small it did not have any place to hang clothes. When I asked for a coat rack, the housekeeping staff brought a bunch of coat hangers - when I asked where I was supposed to hang those, she sheepishly said there was no room. - Service: The young male staff member was not very friendly and quite unhelpful. - Amenities: Mediocre. I’ve been using a Dyson hairdryer for five years, but their Dyson hairdryer did not feel the same.

Very great location! Central of the Ancient Town. Hosts （小龙） is really nice and helped with our luggage when we arrive and all of our travel itinerary. They have a cute kitty too!

Clean hotel and comfortable bed. Love the voice control for the room. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast provided was simple but nice.

Our stay at Caiyunjian was nothing short of fantastic. The value for the price exceeded expectations. We liked xiaodu so much we’re thinking of installing it in our future home, and the nightly soaks in their tub were something we looked forward to daily. Situated in the heart of the old town, the location also provided ample opportunities to thoroughly explore the ancient city. The boss and manager were hospitable, and we had many indepth discussions in the tea room every evening. While young, the boss’ ambition to improve the homestay was also evident. We have no doubt that Caiyunjian will continue to flourish. 🙌🏼

The small hotel is very centrally located, has a cozy courtyard and the staff are very helpful. Transportation to the airport was organized very easily.

This inn offers one of the best service i have ever experience. They are able to advise on everything that you would like to experience in Lijiang. It is slightly away from the streets of bars, so it gives you peace when you need it. But it is within walkable distance. You are able to get a discounted rate when you purchase anything or any travel package through the inn.

Friendly host. Great location at the centre of Lijiang Ancient Town. Clean and spacious room, comes with Dyson hairdryer 🤩🤩. Towels, room slippers etc are of very high quality like 5 star hotels. The host also arranged for cargo bicycle to carry our luggages from main road towards their accommodation as the pathway within ancient town is very rough and uneven. Overall highly recommend to people looking to stay within Lijiang Ancient Town.
