If history and beautiful walks are your thing
Baomo garden in the Panyu district of Guangzhou is a beautiful and peaceful retreat from the city.
The garden features an abundance of big ponds filled with fish, a rose garden, various old trees and traditional chinese style buildings to gaze at while you meander around.
There is a restaurant on site and plenty of little shops just outside the gate.
Prices were around 50rmb per adult and it closes at 5pm / 5.30 for exiting the grounds.
We went late in the afternoon. There weren’t many people and the sun was beginning to set which added to the beauty 😍 if pictures are your thing then id suggest going at this time 😍

Baomoyuan is like a classical Chinese garden on steroids. If Suzhou has the Humble Administrator's Garden, this might be the Ostentatious Plenipotentiary's Garden.
Besides being very large, it has some rather untraditional elements, like tackily lit grottoes and a children's wading pool. For the most part, though, it follows the conventions of classical architecture and design. Highlights include exquisite haut relief carvings, a vibrant rose garden and hundreds of colourful koi fish.
Located on the outskirts of Panyu District, Guangzhou, a visit here could be combined with a trip to nearby Daliang in Shunde, Foshan or Shawan Old Town in Panyu.
A combination ticket is available for Baomoyuan and the neighbouring Nanyueyuan 南粤苑, another garden.

In Guangzhou
In Guangzhou!! It's the season to enjoy cherry blossoms at Panyu Baomo Garden!
Another year of Baomo Garden day trip just to see the cherry blossoms~ Indeed, it was worth the trip.
I was initially worried about the bad weather, but it turned out to be sunny and the photos were beautiful even without filters! Girls, let's go
Tickets are required, and you can book through *number.
Does Guangzhou also have gardens? Haha, check out the Lingnan gardens!
🔸Baomo Garden, rich in Lingnan ancient architecture, gardens, and water town charm. The buildings in Baomo Garden, such as halls, towers, pavilions, galleries, bridges, kiosks, terraces, archways, verandas, boats, and walls, all mimic the style of Lingnan architecture from the late Qing dynasty.
🔸The brick carvings and stone carvings in the garden are first-class, with stories from the Four Great Classical Novels - Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Dream of the Red Chamber, Journey to the West, and Water Margin - visible everywhere, presented in rich sculptural forms. The porcelain relief 'Along the River During the Qingming Festival' and the giant brick carving 'Azaleas and Whistling Wall' are listed among the world's Guinness records.
🔸The entire garden is like a large museum, with exhibition halls such as 'Dragon Gallery' and 'Family Gathering Pavilion' housing collections of calligraphy and treasures from overseas Chinese, some dating back to the Warring States period, full of essence and surprises.
🔸The garden staff say that there are nearly 100,000 koi fish in the garden, very spiritual and full of auspiciousness. They like to interact with visitors and can be fed by them. For the health of the little fish, it is recommended to buy fish feed in the garden, 10 yuan for a large pack, each pellet is very full, like custom-made for the koi in the garden, obviously different from what is sold at the small stalls outside!
🔸There is also a place in the garden for children to catch goldfish, which is not highly recommended in winter. However, in the hot summer, it is definitely a great spot for taking children out.
🔸Another surprise is that the toilets in Baomo Garden are particularly culturally distinctive, with antique decorations, Chaozhou wood carvings with real gold leaf, and colored glass windows. It is said that the cost reached several million, definitely a luxurious experience

The cherry blossoms in Guangzhou's Baomo Garden are not blooming profusely, a genuine share
✅ Preface
Recently, the weather has been overcast with continuous rain, and the Baomo Garden Cherry Blossom Festival has also kicked off.
I went to Baomo Garden on the 12th, a sunny day.
I had seen many shares before, with the cherry blossoms in full bloom and the weather clear.
But the reality is that the cherry blossoms in Baomo Garden are not blooming profusely this year.
In some places, they haven't bloomed at all, even before the 12th.
There hasn't been a single sunny day, let alone blue skies and white clouds.
-
📍 Location: Nancun Road, Zini Village, Shawan Town, Panyu District, Guangzhou City
🚗 Transportation: Self-driving is recommended. Cost: 10 yuan/vehicle.
⏰ Opening hours 8:30-17:00 (entry stops at 16:50)

✅ Unbloomed cherry blossoms
❶ The row of cherry blossoms to the right of the Purple Ribbon Bridge did not bloom.
❷ The two cherry trees opposite the Jubao Pavilion on the artificial hill did not bloom (see picture eight)
❸ I don't know if the cherry blossoms in these two places will bloom later, but there were none when I went on the 12th.
-
✅ Areas where cherry blossoms are concentrated
❶ In front of and behind the Jintonggujian Archway, which is also the most crowded area.
❷ To the left of the Jintonggujian Archway, the long corridor here is also very crowded.
-

❶ Adult ticket: 54 yuan/person; online 48 yuan/person.

❷ Shawan Ancient Town: An ancient Lingnan cultural town with over 800 years of history, filled with a rich historical atmosphere, requires a ticket.
❸ Zini Hall: A creative park transformed from an abandoned sugar factory, free entry.

❶ Nanyue Garden scenic area is right next door, a few minutes' walk away.
❷ There are restaurants outside the Baomo Garden scenic area, most of which feature Shunde cuisine.

❹ The scenic area has cherry blossoms, roses, kapok, and bougainvillea (not many)
Places worth visiting around Guangzhou
I was planning to check in at Baomo Garden for the cherry blossoms🌸, but when I got there, I found that the blooming period was over, and there were only a few cherry blossoms left, not enough to capture the glory of full bloom. However, it was still beautiful.
📝Note tips:
It is recommended to bring your own fish food. Although it is sold inside for 10 yuan a portion, it's more cost-effective to bring your own because having fish food will allow you to witness a surge of koi, and you might even see them leaping out of the water, which is quite a sight to behold. You deserve to experience it.
Inside, there are pavilions, towers, small bridges over flowing water, making you feel as if you're in an ancient landscape, perfect for taking photos in traditional Chinese style. There are many costume rental shops with clothing, headwear, makeup, and photography services. Ladies can make rational choices; wearing a cheongsam for photos is also very photogenic.
There are plenty of restrooms inside, making it comfortable to walk around. There are also many exhibition houses with lifelike displays. I saw an exhibition about Bao Gong, which was very interesting.
Have the goddesses received the notification? The cherry blossoms at Baomo Garden are in full bloom!
Looking forward to the national style cherry blossoms for a long time, they are finally here!
Goddesses, are you ready?
🌟Every March, the cherry blossoms at Panyu Baomo Garden arrive as promised. Compared to other cherry blossom gardens, this place is full of national style. It's perfect to wear Hanfu or Qipao here.
🌟Besides cherry blossoms, roses and bougainvillea are also blooming here. Don't miss the beautiful garden scenery of Lingnan architecture. Of course, you can also bring children to enjoy the cherry blossoms, feed the goldfish, and catch small fish fry.

➡️The cherry blossoms have bloomed halfway recently, and the rest are expected to bloom next week.

➡️If you want to take photos, it is recommended to come in the morning when there are fewer people.
➡️There are cherry blossoms in the nearby Nanyue Garden as well, but not as many as in Baomo Garden.
➡️There is a parking lot at the entrance, or you can take the Pan67 bus from Shiqiao subway station to Baomo Garden.
