What Is Waterbom Bali

Waterbom Bali is a huge waterpark on Jalan Kartika Plaza in Kuta, a short walk from the famous Kuta Beach and directly across the road from Discovery Shopping Mall. It regularly ranks as one of the top waterparks in Asia, with 28 slides and attractions spread across a huge tropical garden instead of bare concrete. 

The lineup of rides is impressive, running from the Constrictor, a 250-metre enclosed tube slide, to the Climax, a nearly-vertical drop and one of the steepest slides in Asia. A lazy rivers is ideal for relaxing in between the thrills, and there’s a dedicated Funtastic kids’ zone with no height restrictions whatsoever. 

Budget a full day here if you want to work through all of the rides and slides before making your way back to the hotel!

Waterbom Bali Opening Hours and Ticket Prices

Waterbom Bali is open every day from 9am until 6pm, including public holidays. The one exception is Nyepi, the Balinese Day of Silence, when the entire island shuts down for 24 hours, including Waterbom, shops and the airport. Nyepi usually falls in March but the date changes every year, so check ahead if your trip lands around then. 

Ticket Prices are as follows:

• Kids: from AU$39 for kids aged between 2 and 11. 

Best Rides and Attractions at Waterbom Bali

You’ll find the usual waterpark lineup at Waterbom Bali, including fast slides, looping ones, near-vertical drops, and a lazy river. But the quality of all of them at Waterbom sit a notch above what you can get at your standard Bali resort pool. 

Here are the best rides at Waterbom Bali:

• Climax: a near-vertical trapdoor drop, one of the steepest slides in Asia. Minimum height applies.
• Smashdown 2.0: a 26-metre freefall slide that launches at a steep angle. Not for the faint-hearted.
• Constrictor: the park's longest enclosed tube slide at 250 metres, with a run of twists before the splash landing.
• Twin Racers: side-by-side mat slides if you want to race a mate down.
• Boomerang: drops you down, then flings you backward up a wall for a weightless second at the top.

Waterbom Bali With Kids

If you’re travelling in Bali with kids, they’re not left out either. Those under the minimum height for rides can make use of a few different areas.

• The Funtastic Zone has shallow pools and mini slides built specifically for young kids. 
• Zuluu Hill is a mini mountain with six slides across two levels, built for kids 150cm and under. Nextdoor, the Mini Boomerang ride gives little ones a scaled-down taster of the park’s signature Boomerang slide. 
• AquaPlay rounds out the kid attractions is , a 15-metre water playground with more slides, tipping buckets, and interactive sprays, suitable for kids up to 16. 

Between these zones, younger kids have plenty to do without going anywhere near the big drop slides.

Best Time to Visit Waterbom Bali

The best time to visit Waterbom Bali is generally between April and October, during Bali’s dry season.

As a tropical destination, Bali has a dry season and a wet season, and during the wet season, afternoon storms can easily rain out your day at the waterpark. 

Weekdays outside of school holidays are noticeably quieter than the weekends, so if you can go then, you should. Come the weekend, local families and tour groups can fill the queues for slides by mid-morning. 

And if you’re travelling during Aussie school holidays (generally between late-June and late-July), expect it busier again. Particularly because the mid-year holidays overlap with Bali’s peak international season too. 

How to Get to Waterbom Bali

Waterbom is easy to reach, sitting right on Jalan Kartika Plaza in Kuta, within walking distance of Kuta Beach. No need for a rental car, you can make your way there from your resort if you’re staying in Kuta. From elsewhere, check the table below:

Parking at Waterbom Bali

If you’re driving yourself or have rented a scooter, Waterbom Bali has its own off-street parking available, although it’s not a guarantee on busy days. 

As part of the park’s standard security checks, vehicles might be inspected before entry. The car park is monitored, but Waterbom doesn’t take any responsibility for theft or damage to vehicles, so don’t leave any valuables in the car. 

Where to Stay Near Waterbom Bali

Jalan Kartika Plaza is lined with top hotels, and staying here lets you easily walk to the waterpark instead of organising transport there. 

You’ll also be close to Kita Beach, Discovery Mall, and a strip of restaurants along the same road, which makes it a solid base for a Bali holiday overall. It’s a very family-friendly area, and the whole area is well serviced with everything you need, designed for tourists to move between the beach, the mall, and the park. 

Dining at Waterbom Bali

The park runs several dining spots rather than one central food hall. 

• Wantilan Food Court is near the entrance to the water park and offers a good mix of Indonesian, Thai, and Western options. 
• Savannah Cafe is next to the AquaPlay kids’ zone, and ideal for family meals between slides. 
• Sliders Bar & Grill enjoys a iew over the FlowRider and the Smashdown finish line so you can eat while watching the action. 
• Oasis Cafe is in the Oasis Garden area, and can even deliver food to your private gazebo. 
• A swim-up bar is also available. 

Outside food and drinks aren't allowed through the gate, so budget for at least one meal on-site if you're staying the full day.

Waterbom Bali Practical Tips

A few things worth knowing before you go:

• Bring plenty of sunscreen. Bali's sun is stronger than it looks, and you'll be in and out of water all day.
• Pack a card, not cash. The Splash Band handles payments inside the park. Top it up on arrival and any unused credit gets refunded on your way out.
• Check the height and weight rules first. Most of the bigger slides need riders above 100cm tall, with weight limits on some rides for safety.
• Book gazebos ahead during school holidays. Peak season (June to August, plus Christmas) sells out fast, and a shaded base for the day is worth having.
• Outside food isn't allowed. The park has its own dining options, so plan to eat on-site.
• Have your ticket QR code ready on your phone. It saves a stop at the counter and gets you straight to the gate.
