I always choose Jianguo Hotel Guangzhou for my business trips to Guangzhou East Railway Station. Its location is a huge advantage, just a few minutes' walk from the East Station, making it super convenient for catching high-speed trains. The room was clean and tidy, and the bed was very comfortable, allowing me to rest well after my business activities. I particularly want to praise the Chinese restaurant on the fourth floor; their Cantonese dim sum for morning tea is very authentic, with excellent shrimp dumplings and siu mai. We had a wonderful stay at Fraser Suites Guangzhou and would definitely choose to stay here again on our next visit.
We specifically chose this location because we knew Guangzhou would be extremely hot during the day, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. The hotel is surrounded by several shopping malls, restaurants, and plenty of indoor attractions, making it easy to explore the city while staying comfortable. The location is incredibly convenient and was ideal for our family.
One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional concierge service. We had quite a few packages delivered during our trip, and the concierge team was always happy to receive them on our behalf and arrange for them to be delivered to our room. Their efficiency, professionalism, and willingness to help made our stay so much easier and more enjoyable.
The suites were spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing everything we needed for a relaxing stay after busy days of shopping and sightseeing.

Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Zhengjia Plaza Review: Excellent Location, but Service Details Need Significant Improvement
Hotel Location: Prime business district, convenient but prone to traffic jams
The hotel's location is truly excellent, situated right next to Zhengjia Plaza on Tianhe Road. Stepping out, you're seamlessly connected to a bustling commercial area, making shopping, strolling, and dining incredibly convenient. However, precisely because it's in a core business district, the surrounding traffic is bound to be congested during peak hours. Whether driving or taking a taxi, the last few hundred meters can take a considerable amount of time. It's advisable to factor in extra time and check traffic conditions upon arrival.
Hotel Environment: Well-equipped, but cleanliness details need improvement
The hotel generally offers the comfort expected of a standard five-star establishment. The decor and facilities are well-maintained and function smoothly without issues. Disappointingly, however, the room's cleanliness was rather mediocre. Dust was visible on obvious surfaces like the bedside table (see photos), which is quite detrimental to the stay experience for a five-star hotel.
Hotel Facilities: Comprehensive, meeting daily needs
All of the hotel's hardware facilities worked well. The comprehensive amenities met guests' daily rest and leisure needs. Although some areas might show a slight sense of age, the overall maintenance was good, with no facility malfunctions or inconveniences.
Hotel Service: Low efficiency, attitude needs improvement
This was the most critical area for improvement during this stay. Firstly, check-in efficiency was extremely low. Arriving at 3 PM, a twin room was still not available. Even after asking Trip.com customer service to expedite the process, we didn't receive the room key until 5 PM, severely disrupting our plans for rest. Secondly, the front desk staff's training was clearly inadequate; their arrogant attitude completely fell short of my consistent impression of Marriott staff being professional and enthusiastic, which was quite disappointing.
Hotel Dining: On par, highly recommended
The hotel's dining experience was outstanding and a major highlight of this stay. The buffet breakfast on the fifth floor offered a wide and diverse selection, catering to various tastes. The Chinese restaurant on the sixth floor not only had excellent dishes but also provided attentive and thoughtful service. The overall experience was superb and highly recommended.
Overall, I am satisfied with my comprehensive experience at this hotel, especially its impeccable location and excellent dining. However, I also hope the hotel addresses the existing issues, genuinely improves the front desk staff's attitude, enhances check-in efficiency, and strengthens control over room cleanliness. Upon entering the room, my first impression was how clean and tidy it was. The hygiene was impeccable, with even the corners spotless. The overall room layout was sensible, with ample space that didn't feel cramped. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the mattress had just the right firmness, perfect for relaxing after a busy day. The soundproofing was excellent; I barely heard any outside noise, ensuring a peaceful and sound sleep. The in-room facilities were complete and well-maintained, easy and convenient to use. This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service.
There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle.
The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars.

The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the mattress is really comfortable, and the soundproofing is good, so after a busy day, you can get some quality rest. The front desk staff are familiar with returning guests' needs and handle check-ins and check-outs very efficiently, and they're quick to respond to any issues. The breakfast spread is extensive, and the *cheong fun* (rice noodle rolls) are particularly delicious. It's suitable for both business meetings and leisure travel. The first day was a bit chilly, but lying on the balcony deckchair, listening to the birds and the sound of the water, was incredibly relaxing. It really helped us achieve our vacation goals, haha! The hotel itself is designed like a garden, with rooms scattered across the hillside, connected by small paths. This layout ensures minimal disturbance between guests. Taking a leisurely stroll around is lovely, and if you don't feel like walking, you can always 'call' for the park shuttle, which is very convenient. It was my husband's birthday, and the hotel surprised him with a complimentary homemade cake, which was absolutely delicious. The handwritten card with a heartfelt message was a lovely touch. The room was clean and tidy, and the attention to detail in the service was excellent. After soaking in the hot springs and showering, we used the towels. When we returned from dinner later, we found fresh towels had been provided, and the trash had been emptied. All the staff greeted us proactively. The hotel breakfast was delicious, and my skin felt amazing after the hot springs. We also had dinner at the hotel, which was good value for money. The next morning, we enjoyed a two-hour round trip walk along the riverside greenway towards Yakong River. We wished we had more time! My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard:
1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all;
2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again.
3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment.
I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort.

The hotel looked better in the pictures than in real life! Honestly, the overall environment was decent, and there were several pleasant surprises during our stay, like the afternoon tea included in our package and the fruit platter specially provided at the hot spring. However, the downside was the hotel staff's somewhat aggressive upselling. They offered us a room upgrade but wanted an additional 80 yuan per hot spring tub (even though the room I booked already had a private tub!). Also, we had to pay extra for our child exceeding the limit, and this was only for a single entry (a multi-entry pass cost over 100 yuan per person, with no discount for hotel guests). What was even funnier was that each room was limited to 4 bottles of mineral water. We took 5 bottles the first night because we needed more water after using the hot spring, and then they wouldn't give us any more the next day! On checkout day, I wanted to take two bottles of water, but the front desk didn't even have any. Oh well, it's not like we're desperate for those two bottles. This birthday trip was my first time staying at the W Hotel Guangzhou, and it was absolutely fantastic! The entire property is impeccably clean, fresh, and beautifully avant-garde.
The facilities are simply outstanding. The stunning rooftop pool was a massive surprise, offering an amazing high-altitude vibe. I also thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully designed bar, the well-equipped gym, and the gorgeously aesthetic sauna, steam room, and hot pool—perfect spots to unwind.
What truly elevated this stay was the exceptional service. Room service was excellent, and all the staff were incredibly nice. A special shout-out to Candy and Catherine at the Front Desk! The room is very spacious, and the overall environment is excellent. The service attitude is superb, especially Front Desk Assistant Xiao Lin, who was very enthusiastic and kind. The only downsides are that the hotel is a bit old, and the facilities are a bit dated. The air conditioner in our room was leaking, but Xiao Lin was incredibly helpful and quickly arranged a room change. However, the new room was quite noisy due to its proximity to the road and ongoing subway construction. The room had large windows. The breakfast leaned towards Western style; it wouldn't be worth it if paid for separately, especially compared to the excellent dim sum (Cantonese morning tea) readily available throughout Guangzhou. The rooms were fine, but I have to give a negative review for the concierge service. I was with my child and in a hurry to register my car plate number before heading out. I finally had to interrupt their enthusiastic chat to ask if someone else or the check-in desk could register my car plate. After waiting for a long time and seeing no end to their conversation, and with my one-year-old getting restless, I went to the check-in counter to ask if they could help with the car plate. It was then that a nearby check-in staff member took us back to the concierge desk, where someone there *did* register my car plate. I was utterly confused! Turns out, it *was* possible. So, is concierge service only reserved for foreign guests, and we don't even deserve a smile? He knew I had a baby and had been waiting for almost ten minutes, yet he was completely indifferent. This is hard to assess... The hotel facilities and cleanliness were fine. The doorman when we left was very enthusiastic. The breakfast, to be honest, was really just mediocre! The French toast was alright, but the rest was truly unremarkable... especially the waffles, which were hard and unappetizing, and the eggs were very average. Three days, two nights – next time I visit friends in Guangzhou, I definitely won't choose this place again! They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit.
Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need.
The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room.
Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least.
