As a frequent business traveler to Guangzhou, the Jianguo Hotel is always my go-to. I genuinely recommend it to all business travelers – it's my absolute must-stay whenever I'm in Guangzhou! The location is unbeatable, right next to Guangzhou East Railway Station and a subway entrance, making commutes to Shenzhen and Hong Kong, or getting around the city's various business districts, incredibly convenient. There are plenty of malls and restaurants nearby, so all your dining and shopping needs are easily met. The hotel's service is meticulous and thoughtful; the front desk and dining staff are always responsive. The rooms are quiet and tidy, perfect for both working and resting, making for an excellent business trip experience. The biggest surprise, though, was the hotel breakfast. It used to be over a hundred RMB per person, but now it's only 58 RMB – incredible value for money! The variety of food is extensive, with a dedicated whole-grain section featuring corn, sweet potatoes, and various whole-grain pastries. They also offer a wide selection of freshly baked bread, Cantonese dim sum, made-to-order noodles, fresh fruits, and a range of teas and coffees. Whether you're looking for something light and healthy or a hearty meal, they've got you covered. A good breakfast before meeting clients really energizes you for the whole day. Oakwood Premier is extremely convenient - just one metro station ride on Line 1 from Guangzhou East rail station, and ＜10 mins walk from Exit A.
The check in, restaurant and housekeeping staff members are courteous and responsive to our needs - extra towels, restaurant bookings etc. It is a welcoming change from other hotel chains in other countries which we experienced lately.
The room is clean and spacious. There is however too many furniture (probably due to accommodating long term guests who need plenty of storage). Less furniture would be ideal with more walking space and effective opening of doors, eg bedroom door, if open, will block access to the wardrobe door.
The breakfast buffet spread is sufficient - Chinese and western dishes. The dining room is huge, bright and spacious with large windows. The F&B knowledge could be improved though eg having available the appropriate condiments with the buffet items (calamari rings, delicious but no dips to go with), fresh waffle with no maple syrup (just 4 different fruit jams and 1 peanut butter options), crispy bacon (but not cripsy in reality), Chinese dim sum (with no chili oil/sauce, vinegar etc) at lukewarm temperature (the steaming switch was deliberately kept at OFF though I switched it to ON several times.)

Pros:
The hotel has an excellent location, close to many well-known restaurants and shopping malls, making it very convenient to get almost anything you need.
The staff were polite and always greeted us warmly. They also tried their best to fulfil my requests noted in the booking remarks. As I was travelling with elderly parents, they kindly arranged anti-slip mats for every bathroom. Many tables were also fitted with protective coverings to help reduce the risk of injury.
Cons:
The bathroom floor towel had a lipstick stain. I also requested a bolster, but instead received two pillows tied together, which was a bit disappointing. The lift can be quite slow.
Overall:

I first stayed at Sofitel last July during my initial visit to Guangzhou. A year later, I'm back again, and let me cut to the chase: its value for money in Guangzhou is virtually unmatched.
Stepping into Sofitel Guangzhou Sunrich again after a year, the overall vibe is distinctly different from Mandarin Oriental, Ritz-Carlton, or Park Hyatt. As you enter the lobby, French vintage carvings blend seamlessly with Lingnan rosewood furnishings, and you'll spot gilded vine patterns everywhere. Paired with Sofitel's signature rose fragrance, it perfectly merges French light luxury elegance with local Lingnan heritage. The decor is soft yet grand, understated but inherently sophisticated. Upon learning it was my return visit after a year, they thoughtfully upgraded me to a high-floor city view room for free. I really have to commend the staff member, Dion. Even though Sofitel isn't a top-tier luxury hotel with 'personal butlers,' Dion acted just like one throughout my stay – always responsive, accommodating, efficient, and incredibly friendly. They treated me with such respect, making me feel incredibly comfortable 🥰. Entering the room, I was met with a strong sense of old-money aesthetics from an era of economic boom. The room also offered a beautiful view of Canton Tower, which I loved. I'm a big fan of Sofitel's fragrance (be it Guiyang, Changzhou, Haikou, Foshan, etc.); they all hit just the right note for me, maintaining regional distinctiveness within a similar scent profile. The hotel's standard Lanvin toiletries further highlight the meticulous service and premium amenities, which at this price point, make it an incredibly high-value stay.
Now, after discussing the brilliant advantages, let me mention two minor drawbacks. Firstly, the speaker isn't smart enough and lacks Bluetooth connectivity. Secondly, due to the recent frequent rain in Guangzhou, the outdoor view wasn't particularly good, but that's a seasonal issue. These minor flaws didn't detract from my overall stay experience; they weren't critical issues. All in all, returning to Sofitel Sunrich after a year, both the hotel's unique blend of Chinese and French design and the concierge's attentive service remained exceptionally high standard. I specifically chose to stay at the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou this time and experienced the full package: guest room, executive lounge, CAN guided tour, and breakfast at the Revolving Restaurant. It truly gave me a taste of what the pinnacle of hotel service in Guangzhou is like. The entire stay was comfortable and reassuring, with no unpleasant surprises, and every aspect exceeded my expectations with its generosity and thoughtfulness.
Upon checking in, I had booked a basic room. I paid 20 RMB at the 'Seafood Market' (referring to a loyalty program sign-up) to get a Lingkehui Gold Card. After calling staff beforehand to link my information, I was informed I could get a free upgrade to a Kapok Suite and also receive a welcome fruit platter. It was straightforward and generous, immediately dispelling any concerns I had about formulaic service from an old-established hotel. The upgraded room was spacious, featuring a warm and elegant Lingnan-style wooden design. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, the bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and all toiletries were well-stocked. On the first night, I discovered the air conditioner was leaking. After calling service, a staff member arrived within five minutes, promptly fixed the issue, and maintained a polite attitude throughout. Afterwards, the floor supervisor even called to apologize and offered a souvenir. Their immediate response to issues, without shirking responsibility or delaying, and their impressive efficiency were remarkable.
The executive lounge on the 4th floor was a major highlight of this trip. During afternoon tea, pastries were continuously replenished, with a limitless supply of various savory and sweet treats. It was quiet and not crowded, perfect for a break and a chat. In the evening, happy hour offered samosas, cold cuts, creamy pasta, and small portions of hot dishes. Although it got a bit noisy during peak hours, staff were always diligent in clearing tables promptly, showing great efficiency and professionalism. The waitresses could even mix 'Cuba Libre' and 'Gin and Tonic,' and I could ask them to prepare drinks.
The hotel's exclusive CAN guided tour was a unique experience. The guide led us through the gold foil murals in the lobby, the central courtyard waterfall, and the art collection, meticulously explaining the hotel's forty-plus-year history and the clever touches of Lingnan design. From the golden dragons on the ceiling to the red bridge in the courtyard, every detail had a story. The guide was patient and thorough throughout the explanation, actively stopping for guests to take photos and recommending lesser-known spots within the hotel. The tour was unhurried, and any questions were answered in detail, allowing for a deep understanding of this garden hotel hidden in the city center.
The next morning, I went to the Revolving Restaurant on the 30th floor for a buffet breakfast. The 360-degree slowly rotating view offered panoramic cityscapes, with the Canton Tower visible in the distance. The food balanced Cantonese flavors with international cuisine; the freshly steamed shrimp dumplings and Jidi porridge were authentic and delicious, while Western omelets, cold cuts, fresh fruit, and baked goods were all well-stocked. Staff constantly cleared empty plates and proactively refilled drinks, and there was no long wait for window seats, creating a relaxed and pleasant dining atmosphere.
From the front desk and room maintenance to executive lounge service, the CAN tour guide, and restaurant staff, everyone I encountered maintained a consistently gentle and polite demeanor. Two things impressed me the most: first, their zero-delay approach to problem-solving, responding swiftly to requests and resolving issues properly; and second, the genuine and generous room upgrade, given without upselling or conditions, purely offering tangible benefits to guests.
As a platinum five-star hotel with many years of deep roots in Guangzhou, the Garden Hotel doesn't rely on flashy gimmicks. It earns its reputation through tangible details, efficient service, and generous hospitality. Whether for a short getaway or an extended stay in the city, it provides a stable and comfortable experience. This is a classic hotel in the heart of Guangzhou, and its location is really good. The exterior also looks quite grand. The rooms are spacious, and the views from them are very nice. You can also go up to the 63rd floor for an even better view. Breakfast was decent, but it was a shame that during my three-day stay, the noodle station only had a chef on the last morning. I found the front desk service quite subpar. I waited in line for ages, and several male receptionists kept ignoring me or shunting me to a different queue. They were busy chatting casually with the guests in front of them and didn't bother calling the next person. They spent half an hour on pointless conversation, and it felt like it would never end. I was so annoyed waiting that they finally called out a female receptionist from the back to help me with my room card. Also, in the lobby, we were dragging our luggage around, and no staff member came over to offer assistance. Overall, I felt there was hardly any service.
There's no self-service laundry room, which I think is a significant drawback. Since there are no room service robots, I had to go up and down to collect my food orders every time, which was a real hassle.
The room hygiene was good, but I find it incredibly stingy for a five-star hotel to charge for a tiny bit of coke and other items in the minibar. Many hotels now offer complimentary minibars.

As a returning guest, this is always my top choice for a hotel in Huadu, whether it's a weekend or a weekday stay. The rooms are very spacious, the service is excellent, and the breakfast is quite varied. The hotel offers hot springs and a swimming pool, but what I love most is the incredibly high vegetation coverage. The rooms are surrounded by lush, verdant trees, with blossoms falling everywhere. In the mornings, I enjoy walking to breakfast while listening to the delightful bird songs. The hotel is nestled by a lake at the foot of a mountain, which I absolutely adore – it's so serene and peaceful. Facilities: The room facilities are quite retro, perfectly matching the design of a holiday rental. The room is very close to the hotel's hot spring, so you can just walk over in your swimsuit and bathrobe.
Hygiene: The hygiene conditions are decent.
Environment: The front desk upgraded us to a river view room. We could see the river directly from the balcony, and the view was excellent. The hot spring area has a variety of pools to soak in. My skin didn't wrinkle after soaking, so it's likely natural hot spring water.
Service: The staff's service attitude was excellent, especially the lady at the front desk who helped us resolve many issues. In the hot spring area, the staff were very enthusiastic to assist and would always ask if we needed water refills.

My room was a luxurious suite with private bath tub (around hkd 3000 for two nights including breakfast). Hardware is definitely exceptional. However when it comes to service it is below standard:
1) front desk - service was poor without any greetings such as bell boy. Front desk officers were unhappy without any eye contact when they talk to you. No hospitality at all;
2) breakfast - the quality both food and service were not up to a 4 or 5 star service. Table was not clean, staffs were almost unfriendly, except one female manager and one staff, all staffs were rushing their task and unwelcoming. I believe the hotel management need to motivate their staff ,otherwise, people won’t come again.
3) Amnenties - room is a luxurious suite with private bath tub, massage chair, kitchen , dining table and queen bed. The tub was not very clean, with water splitting . Such a waste as their service was not meeting the standard of what it is expected to be a 5- star resort. (The environment, garden were nicely decorated indeed) The Hot Spring pool is well known but I have’s try so cannot comment.
I won’t come to this resort again, if the service of the hotel haven’t improved. And I won’t recommend travelers with kids who is looking for a family friendly and good service resort.

Our stay in the triple room at the Guangzhou Biquan Air Hot Spring Hotel was absolutely fantastic! 👍 The room was spacious and bright, with elegant and cozy decor. The three beds were soft and comfortable, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The room was also equipped with complete and practical facilities, all spotlessly clean.

The room was excellent, with a good amount of space. The front desk upgraded us to a high-floor smart room, which was spotlessly clean. The disposable amenities were a bit basic but covered the essentials, and the toiletries for washing and showering were of good quality. The service was also great; perhaps because of the high temperatures during the day, the hotel even provided herbal tea to every guest, which was very much appreciated! Although this hotel is rated 4-star, I felt it was better than some 5-star hotels in Guangzhou. The breakfast and lunch offerings were both very good, and there's even morning tea available on the top floor. We didn't even need to go out for food during this trip to Guangzhou, as we could enjoy authentic local cuisine right in the hotel. We have stayed this hotel for 4 times already, every time we have found feel like a home away from home. Location is great, very close to metro, nearby has shopping centre and various restaurants. Hotel is a bit dated, but they have rooms with newly renovated, really spacious with two double beds, beds are very comfortable, we all slept very well. Swimming pool is traditional Chinese design with beautiful landscape and slide, kids love it. Special thank you to front desk staff 小莫 Xenia, she is very helpful and friendly, gave us great offer.

Location & Surroundings: The hotel is situated in Huacheng Hui Central, surrounded by numerous shopping malls, making it convenient for shopping and dining. From the hotel lobby, you can see the Canton Tower and the East and West Towers. The only minor inconvenience is that the hotel lobby is on the 22nd floor, while guest rooms are on floors below the lobby. So, every time you return to your room, you have to take one elevator to the 22nd floor, and then another elevator down to your room floor.
Service: Overall, the service was quite good, but food deliveries are not allowed to be brought to the room; only other types of deliveries are permitted.
Room Layout & Facilities: I stayed in a twin room. The room's layout and flow weren't very practical. Upon entering, you have to navigate a narrow turn before reaching the bedroom area. And with Guangzhou bus drivers cutting in recklessly, those driving themselves really need to watch out not to get scraped. My second minor gripe is that for some reason, the Mandarin Oriental is so insistent on canned Voss water. The problem is, as soon as you open these cans, water splashes out everywhere. Another exceptional stay at Jumeirah. This was our second visit after last year's amazing stay. The service was outstanding, such as remembering our previous stay's preferences and ensuring we are comfortable with the room as well as bottled water preferences.
When we checked in, there was welcome fruit platter and free drinks from the room's mini-bar fridge. The hotel also helped me to receive several online shopping purchases prior to my trip there and delivered these to the room upon check-in.
The room was extremely comfortable with clean smelling bedsheets and towels. The view of the Zhujiang river was great. The room has a Bose speaker and the room sound proofing is pretty good.
Special praise to Ms Beety who communicated with me via Wechat with my queries & needs and also helped made dinner reservations & setup birthday decor and cake. Also special thanks to Mr Jake who attended to us on retrieving a parcel from another hotel, checking courier and medical charges patiently and giving timely updates and advice.

This veteran five-star hotel has newly renovated rooms that are clean and hygienic, with comfortable twin beds. The service is friendly, from the front desk staff to the security guards and cleaning aunties, everyone greets you warmly. The location is excellent, with a side entrance directly connecting to Yuexiu Park Station on Metro Line 2. Yuexiu Park itself is right across from the hotel. We booked a 2-night package on Ctrip for 1000 RMB, which was incredible value for money. The front desk even extended all executive benefits to my Lingnan Gold Card membership. (Just a quick complaint here: a certain loyalty program member card offered no benefits when booking through Ctrip.) For food, I highly recommend the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel; many local regulars frequent it, and their intangible cultural heritage Zhusheng Wonton Noodles are incredibly fresh and delicious. I was in Guangzhou for a business trip and decided to extend my stay by a day for a 'staycation.' I deliberated between the Four Seasons and the Rosewood for a long time, ultimately choosing the Rosewood. To sum it up: it impressed me greatly, but it wasn't perfect.
Upon check-in, driving up the slope next to K11, you enter a grand, distinctly Lingnan-style luxurious mansion. Check-in is on the 95th floor. The greeter helped us with our luggage. The front desk kindly upgraded our room (a big plus for this, much better than the stingy no-upgrades policy at Grand Hyatt, Park Hyatt, and most Hyatt chain hotels, which I appreciate). The lobby's decor was stunning. Entering the room, you're greeted by an entryway. The arrangement of various utensils and beverages on the coffee bar was unlike anything I'd seen in other hotels; the hotel's aesthetic sense must be incredibly high. What truly amazed me was the presence of traditional Chinese items like calligraphy brushes on the room's desk. This Lingnan and Chinese-inspired design really resonated with me. The biggest advantage of a high-rise hotel is the breathtaking view. Coincidentally, it didn't rain that day, though it had been intermittently raining for the two days prior. So, from the window that evening, I could overlook all of Guangdong, and that blue hour was something I absolutely adored. (I have to commend them here: the biggest fear in high-rise hotels is dirty windows, but the Rosewood's glass was sparkling clean. This shows the hotel's respect and sincerity towards the guest experience. 🥰) Another thing I particularly loved was the hotel's pool, which offers a direct view of the Canton Tower, and the massage pool—it's indescribably beautiful! The one thing I absolutely must praise is this: for smokers like us, a high-rise hotel can be a hassle because no one wants to keep switching elevators just for a cigarette. The Rosewood's solution was to create a sort of high-altitude bar on the 95th floor, allowing smoking in the open-air bar there, which saved us a tremendous amount of trouble! 😆 Another praise-worthy aspect is the hotel's amenities. From the bedding to the shampoo and shower gel, and even the Bose sound system, everything is top-notch. Most luxury hotels don't even provide speakers, or they use old, generic brands. When it comes to hotel provisions, the Rosewood is incredibly thoughtful.
Now that I've covered the pros, let's talk about the cons of the Rosewood. First, there's no butler service, and response efficiency is slow. Whether it's from Ctrip reviews or other platforms, or even considering the price point of 3k and above, a hotel at this level should absolutely provide a private butler to pre-arrange everything. During my stay, there was no butler to add on WeChat, calling for luggage delivery was slow to respond, and there wasn't even the usual pre-check-in phone call the day before. Everything felt very 'last minute,' which made me feel a lack of hotel service. In my understanding, hotels above 1.5k, and even some around 1k in mainland China, would make a pre-check-in call to inquire about room preferences and make preparations. They should also have a private butler to add on WeChat. Second, and this really annoyed me, although the hotel's late check-out time is 2 PM, for a luxury hotel, checking out at 3 PM or 4 PM should be quite common. The hotel called at noon, then at 1 PM, then at 2 PM, and then every ten minutes or so after that, urging us to check out. Eventually, hotel housekeeping staff even directly entered the room to hurry us along. (I don't know why—they knocked twice, and we clearly stated we didn't need them to come in as we were packing, but they still entered to check, then immediately exited. I don't know if the hotel's soundproofing is too good or what.) Despite the comfortable bedding and a good night's sleep, being repeatedly woken up from a hazy sleep by phone calls is something that genuinely infuriated me.
(P.S.: When checking out at 3 PM, the duty manager personally handled it. After I explained the situation, they sincerely apologized to me, maintaining a gentle and respectful demeanor throughout.)
Overall, the Rosewood hotel's advantages are very clear and impressive: stunning hotel design, ultimate aesthetics, panoramic views of the Lingnan city skyline, and even practical yet high-end amenities. The Rosewood is undoubtedly among the best in Guangdong, or even mainland China, with few hotels being able to compare. If you're seeking aesthetics and privacy, the Rosewood hotel is an absolutely perfect choice. Of course, the drawbacks are also obvious: the service attitude is lax and completely unworthy of the price. 🥲 That single floor-to-ceiling sky-view window alone could command prices upwards of 3k, but the significant drop in service makes me feel it doesn't quite meet the threshold of ultra-luxury.
However, the hotel's official sincere apology for the service oversight did make me feel somewhat pleased. I hope the hotel can pay more attention to service attitude and quality, striving to completely avoid such lax service. I look forward to a different experience on my next stay, aiming for a level of service that matches the impressive design. If that happens, the Guangzhou Rosewood truly would be perfect.FromCAD 358

The hotel is wow!
They have free transportation from terminals. If you arrived at terminal 2, after passing passport control, go to the second floor to departure hall and find exit 46. The bus from the hotel will pick you up right there, outside the exit.
Reception guys are very helpful, they helped with your luggage and anything you need.
The room itself is very spacious. The floor in the room is so soft, like a cloud! The bed is very comfortable, pillows just amazing! The bath robe is so soft, double layered, I loved it. All you need you have in a room.
Only one thing can be improved, could be nice if there would be face wash and face lotion at least.

My last visit to the Four Seasons Guangzhou was nine years ago, and the experience still exceeded my expectations. It truly showcases the enduring charm of a well-established luxury hotel. I had been concerned that after so many years, the hotel's facilities and services might have declined, but this stay completely dispelled those worries. Everything was still in excellent condition, with no signs of wear and tear, truly maintaining its high quality.
I arrived at the hotel late at night, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient. I requested a late check-out from the front desk, and the staff were incredibly accommodating, successfully extending my check-out time to 3 PM. This gave me plenty of time to rest properly without having to rush my departure.
All of the hotel staff were polite, courteous, and responsive, with thoughtful attention to detail evident everywhere. Not only were the facilities well-maintained, but the warm and considerate service was an even bigger plus. Many older luxury hotels see their guest experience decline over the years, but the Four Seasons Guangzhou has consistently maintained its high standards. This hotel was perfect for attending Chen Chusheng's concert. It's just one subway stop from University Town, so getting back to the hotel quickly after the show was a breeze. A big shout-out to Guangzhou's excellent management; the order was fantastic! The hotel's location deserves full marks – it's right by subway exit A, super close! 😁 The higher floor offered great views, and the room was spacious. The breakfast had delicious bread and waffles 🧇, tasty freshly made rice noodles, and plenty of fruit. We enjoyed the views while we ate. Both the floor staff and the ground floor attendants were very friendly. If you have time, you can also walk along the greenway on the island.
