Amazing service and room, the restock on shortbread biscuits really topped it off. My guy at the reception was great for information and helping us out. The hotel location is perfect, right next to victoria street and when you step outside you have a clear view of the castle. The facilities are good, with a sauna and swimming pool nearby. Only thing I would mention is the shower temperature not being above luke warm but that’s personal preference. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The location is fantastic! Princes Street is right around the corner if you turn right, and Calton Hill steps are just a short walk to the left. The front desk upgraded our room, which had a huge bed and was very clean. Breakfast is ordered to-go and can take a while, so if you're in a hurry, go early. There's a Chinese restaurant to the right when you exit that's pretty good, but it's often packed with tour groups, so it's best to book in advance.

The hotel's location is super convenient, and the facilities are brand new. Breakfast is semi-buffet style; you can grab cold items yourself, and hot dishes are à la carte – and they taste great! Parking is available right next to the hotel in their private lot for £20, and you can park for the duration of your stay. Definitely recommend it!

For our last night in the UK, we returned to the hotel we stayed at when we first arrived. It felt familiar. Since the king-size room only had one duvet, I asked the front desk for another, and it was quickly delivered. A kind, chubby auntie even helped me put on the duvet cover. This was the only one of the five hotels we stayed at in the UK that provided disposable slippers, which was a nice touch.

The bed was very comfortable, and the pillows were better than most hotels. The location is excellent. However, there are many steps within the hotel, which could be an issue for guests with large luggage. The water softening system is overused; the water feels very sticky, like showering with oil, which I found hard to tolerate, though some might enjoy that slippery sensation. The air conditioning was a bit weak for summer, but thankfully the duvet was thin, which is better than many hotels that have strong AC and thick comforters. I gave hygiene 4 stars because there were two stubborn stains on the bed sheets that couldn't be removed. It was acceptable, just visually unappealing, so I covered them with a pillowcase. After showering, I found long hair on my body, likely from the towel. I wanted to shower again but couldn't stand the oily water, so I just accepted it. Therefore, the lower hygiene rating is primarily due to the excessively softened water.

The room got upgraded  to a bigger room. There was both a bath and a shower. There was a fridge too.
There was hardly any noise from the road outside.
The bedroom doors opening and closing were very noisy.
The gym was standard for a hotel.
The pool was open until 10, with a need to reserve a slot - no issues found with this.
The steam room was undergoing renovation, but the sauna was available.
The TV worked fine, but it's not one where you can cast to it.
The air con worked fine.
