Let's start with the positives:
The hotel is incredibly close to the concert venue, making it super convenient for shows. They even have a dedicated entrance for quick security checks.
It's only a 30-minute taxi ride from the airport to the hotel.
Nearby, there's the Kai Tak Retail Hub with plenty of great food and drink options. You can easily snag a table at Chicha San Chen and Sushiro during non-peak hours when there aren't any performances.

Now for the negatives:
It's not particularly close to Sung Wong Toi or Kai Tak MTR stations.
Since it's an eco-friendly hotel, the facilities are a bit basic. However, considering the usual room rates in Hong Kong are quite reasonable, it balances out. That said, during performance events, the room prices skyrocket.

The hotel location is less than 10 minutes walk to the Tai Wo Hau MTR station, however they do provide shuttle van service to the Kwai Fong MTR station every 30 minutes. The journey in the train to Central is just about 25 minutes.

There is a small 7-11 next to the hotel but it is not 24 hours. If you come back late and craving for some food, you may go to the eatery under Tai Wo Hau residences, they open late. There are some vending machines in the hotel ground floor as well.

The room is clean and spacious with the reasonable price in HK.

Really swift check-in and check-out process, love it! Room is spacious for 2 people — we had 2 big luggages opened and there’s still enough space for us to walk around comfortably. AC was really cool.

Bedroom and bathroom area were both clean upon entering the room. The cleaner that was in charge for our floor (level 27) during our stay throughout 21-26 Nov was really friendly too! :)

Love that the hotel has water refill station and provides this black adaptor by the bedside, a dehumidifier, and an air purifier.

I stayed at Dorsett Wan Chai in Hong Kong with my mom for three nights. The self check-in process was easy and convenient using the robot in the lobby, thanks to the clear instructions emailed by the hotel ahead of time. With that being said, the lobby layout is a bit confusing and disjointed. The multiple elevators located in different areas and behind various doors made navigating the space feel unnecessarily complicated. The guest rooms are quite small, which made it challenging for two people to move around comfortably or manage luggage. We requested a room change for more space and were fortunately accommodated with a slightly larger room, which made a noticeable difference. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Donald, as well as the phone operator. Housekeeping staff were also attentive and kind throughout our stay. Overall, Dorsett Wan Chai is centrally located and close to excellent local restaurants, bars, and city attractions, making it a convenient base for exploring Hong Kong.

The room was a bit small, but it had everything I needed. They even provided a universal adapter. The hygiene was decent, and disposable slippers were available, though I had to buy my own toothbrush and toothpaste. The soundproofing in the room wasn't great. The service was okay, and the breakfast offered a good variety with different options and flavors, including vegetables and fruits, which was nice.

We had a great stay overall. The service was excellent; the receptionist was very helpful (Jason) hope I remembered right, and the room was cleaned promptly upon request.

A few minor things to note: It was a little difficult to find our room at first because the number wasn't on the door. We eventually realized it was on the floor by the doorstep! (Please see attached photos) 🤣

The complimentary meal vouchers were a nice touch, though they must be redeemed at the cafe across the street on Heard Street. (You need to walk like 10mins) 🫢

A word of advice for future guests: If you are traveling with senior citizens or have heavy luggage, this hotel may not be the most convenient. The walk to the bus stop on Tonnochy Road for airport transportation is about 15 minutes. Taking a taxi or Uber is a better option in that case. They do offer a scheduled shuttle bus to the Wanchai neighbourhood.

The bathroom is a bit small, but this is reasonable considering the hotel's affordable price. Our room was clean, and the non-smoking policy is strictly enforced * even at the back doors * so smokers must go downstairs.

While some reviews can be misleading, my experience was positive. This is a budget-friendly hotel where you get what you pay for, so it's important to manage your expectations. We were very happy with the value we received.

The hotel accomodate to my request for decoration perfectly! Thanks for that. The only complain i have, the parking is not free for hotel guest, it was on a flat rate of rm3.71. And the hotel lift was quite slow for a building that has so many floor, so you will end up waiting for a while everytime for the lift. Other than that, the room and toile was spacious. Bathtub was really big. However, wished there was a bathrobe, and for the slipper to be thicker..

Room was clean and comfortable, staff were helpful, and the location is excellent—walking distance to major malls and food options. A solid choice for a convenient and comfortable stay in the city.

Had a wonderful stay at J-Hotel by Dorsett! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-designed, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The staff were friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile.

The location is great — convenient and close to many eateries and shops. Overall, it was a pleasant and hassle-free experience. I’ll definitely stay here again on my next visit!

Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur is a conveniently located hotel, particularly suitable for business travellers and guests with early schedules. One of its strongest features is the breakfast service, which starts as early as 6.00 am—a thoughtful and practical arrangement for guests who need to leave early for work, meetings, or travel.

The rooms are generally comfortable and functional, and the hotel offers reasonable value for money. Staff members are courteous and helpful, contributing positively to the overall stay experience.

However, the Wi-Fi coverage is an area that requires improvement. In some rooms and common areas, the signal can be moderate or weak, which may be inconvenient for guests who rely on stable internet access for work or communication.

Overall, Silka Cheras Kuala Lumpur remains a practical choice due to its location and early breakfast offering. With enhanced Wi-Fi coverage and network reliability, the hotel could significantly improve guest satisfaction.

Silka Maytower provides efficient services and accommodations however, a lot needs to improve in terms of infra-structuring internal designs on the room. Overall i would still recommend staying.

Dorsett Residences is located right next to Dorsett Hotel, hence we share the same breakfast venue at Dorsett Hotel restaurant. The breakfast is the same every day. There is no variety to the food and it honestly got a bit dreadful by the 3rd morning of our stay. The location of the apartment is good though, about 5-7min min walk away from Fahrenheit and Pavilion. The size of the apartment is just right for my family of 4. The staff will clean the room every day and I love it that there is a washer and dryer in the room for me to do laundry. However I was appalled that the bedsheets were not changed during the 4 nights I was there because the same black stains were visible on the bedsheets throughout. Apartment has a gym and swimming pool on the 30th floor that opens from 8 am to 10 pm daily.

Booked for Taiwan guests. They enjoyed the comfort of the hotel room. Easy access by 2 MRT lines and only 1 stop to airport. Enjoyed shopping and eateries at Changi City Point. They decide to be back here the next trip.
Highly recommended hotel but understaff during check in and check out time.

Location was right smack at the center with MRT lift conveniently located right next to it. However the room does not seems to be recently refurnished as advertised. 

Maybe what they meant was exterior as we do realised the exterior of room seems to just refurbished and they are also some ongoing construction ongoing with no notice to the occupants prior.
