Just a 2-hour drive from Shanghai, this is perfect for a weekend family getaway. We stayed in a thoughtful family suite with separate living and sleeping areas. The bunk beds were a huge hit with the kids, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offered fantastic lake views.

The service details truly stood out: When I didn't know how to use the dryer, the front desk sent someone to help within five minutes. And when we arrived at the hot springs close to closing time, the attendant on duty kindly extended the service for us, which was incredibly heartwarming.

The facilities are comprehensive: the mountaintop hot springs offer expansive views, and there's a gym, kids' play area, and self-service laundry room. Our booking also included a complimentary lake cruise. The breakfast spread was plentiful, and the pickled cabbage, bamboo shoot, and beef noodles were particularly noteworthy.

Staying here in winter was peaceful and comfortable, offering great value for money. The Sky City amusement park across the way opens in the summer, and we're already planning a second visit. Highly recommend for families who value quality and attention to detail!

This was my first time at Laozhuang Mountain Residence, and the overall environment is fantastic – perfect for relaxing and breathing fresh air. The whole vibe is very natural and healing.

The front desk staff, especially a young man, was very enthusiastic and even upgraded our room. The view from our mountain residence directly overlooked the green tea plantations, which was incredibly soothing for my eyes over the past few days. We received welcome fruit and four bottles of mineral water. The minibar isn't free, but I checked the prices and they were all quite reasonable.

The room was spacious, the balcony was large, and the cleanliness was good. The only downside was that the bathroom was a bit dim, making it difficult to do makeup.

Breakfast was just okay; the variety wasn't particularly extensive. However, the freshly cooked noodles with toppings were very delicious. Lunch and dinner weren't great value for money, so it's probably better to drive out to eat.

The highlight was definitely the temple grounds you reach by climbing up from the tea mountains. You can ring the bell, and the scenery at the top is stunning and very photogenic. There's a dedicated path for descending, and the walk itself offers beautiful views. There were also adorable geese and ducks. There's a 'Big Gourd Park' which is great for kids. My daughter even borrowed ancient costumes for photos there.

Furthermore, the butler service was excellent. They constantly checked if we needed anything, and their responses were always prompt. They even gave us some local eggs when we checked out.

I booked a king-sized room for one night. Before making the reservation, I was a bit worried based on some online reviews about whether the hotel would be good value for money. To my surprise, this stay far exceeded my expectations! The room was spacious, and the balcony offered a nice view. The staff provided meticulous and attentive service, being helpful and enthusiastic throughout our stay. They would greet us proactively whenever we met them around the hotel. The breakfast selection was quite varied; I recommend going early to get a table by the peacock garden, where kids can watch the peacocks. You can also access the peacock garden from outside the restaurant for more interaction. The hotel's facilities are quite comprehensive, with a kids' club where children can play, and the staff even recommended some family-friendly activities. Parking within the hotel grounds is convenient and free, so electric car owners don't have to worry as the hotel has charging stations, which is great for self-driving tourists. The hot spring experience was also excellent, and I heard there are more water activities in the summer, making it definitely worth another visit. Overall, the hygiene standards were met. The only minor drawback was that the facilities were a bit dated, but the beautiful scenery more than made up for the living experience. Highly recommended!

Pros:

* **Beautiful Environment:** The manor is nestled in Shibao Dock, Dipu Street, Anji County, adjacent to Zhuxian Lake and backed by Chishan Mountain, surrounded by a vast bamboo forest. Even in winter, the air is fresh and the environment is serene, allowing guests to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

* **Attentive Service:** The staff is warm and welcoming, making check-in quick and efficient. We even received a complimentary room upgrade.

* **Decent Dining:** The breakfast offers a good variety, with numerous vegetable options and other dishes. Some guests also highly praised the dinner menu, finding the restaurant's food to be quite tasty.

* **Diverse Activities:** The hotel offers a range of activities such as fishing and boating on Zhuxian Lake, as well as peacock feeding, making it ideal for family trips and romantic getaways.

Cons:

* **Secluded Location:** The hotel's location is quite remote, and transportation in the surrounding area is inconvenient. Guests need to rely on the hotel's shuttle service or have their own car for getting around.

* **Dining Could Be Improved:** Some guests found the hotel's dining to be average, suggesting that the food selection and taste might not satisfy everyone's preferences.

* **Minor Facility Issues:** A few guests experienced inconsistent water temperature in the shower, indicating that the hotel's facilities might not quite match those of some high-end resort hotels.

Here's a breakdown of my stay:

1.  **Check-in Delay (Minus Point):** Arrived on the first day and couldn't check in because the hotel was fully booked for January 1st. We were told we could check in around 2 PM, with no automatic late check-out offered as compensation.
2.  **Pool Offer (Plus Point):** While waiting, the lobby manager suggested we could go swimming and gave us a card. My luggage was overwhelming, so I didn't go, but I appreciated the gesture.
3.  **Unavailable Kids' Activities (Big Minus Point):** I booked this hotel specifically for the parent-child activities, but once checked in, I found out none of them were available for booking.
4.  **Room Location (Minus Point):** We were assigned a room in Zone 7, which turned out to be quite far from the lobby. The room itself was a slightly modified kids' room, which explains the distance and slightly higher price.
5.  **Luggage Struggle (Plus Point):** I tried to move my luggage myself and struggled with the carpet. A staff member came with a trolley to help me, but I foolishly thought I was almost there and declined. Still, it was nice of them to offer.
6.  **Bed Merging (Plus Point):** A wonderful staff member came to merge the twin beds for us; they worked incredibly hard.
7.  **Dining Service (Plus Point):** The staff managing the queues at the restaurant were really nice, especially at the 'Small Restaurant' area.
8.  **Super Wings Activity (Minus Point, then Plus Point after resolution):** The Super Wings activity was charged separately and wasn't part of any package. I later realized the provided card was confusing. (This was resolved later, so it earned a plus point).
9.  **Robot Delivery Overload (Neutral):** Ordered takeout in the evening, but the delivery robots were overloaded.
10. **Winter Temperatures (Minus Point):** The temperature in the pathway from the pool to the guest rooms, activity areas, and extended breakfast area was not child-friendly in winter, making it easy for kids to catch a cold.
11. **Forgotten Key Card (Big Plus Point):** I forgot my room card, and a staff member ran over to help me. Knowing I had a child with me, his quick action was incredibly touching.
12. **Outdoor Kids' Area (Minus Point):** The outdoor kids' activity area was quite small, and the shaded side received very little sunlight.
13. **Kids' Pool (Minus Point):** The heated children's pool was quite small, with only one available.
14. **Customer Service/Cafeteria (Plus Point):** The overall experience with customer service and the cafeteria was very good; they worked hard.

**Summary:**
This luxury resort, repurposed for parent-child guests, has some significant drawbacks for children, especially regarding the winter temperatures. The most critical issue is that the children's activities are almost impossible to book during holidays. You're left with either paid activities or just observing. The LeDi project was a decent backup to avoid direct conflicts. The dining options were acceptable. The main advantage is that despite some staff having poor attitudes, the team as a whole significantly mitigated many operational issues. The initial shortcomings are related to planning and operations, but the staff's execution and operations often saved the day. I would return, but probably when it's less crowded. Before considering adding childcare services, I think it's more important to address these existing issues, especially staggering activity times and extending dining hours to provide guests with a better-planned experience.

[Winter Trip to Fangshan to See the Snow] After my child finished exams, we drove to the suburbs for a little getaway. I heard great things about the newly opened Narada Hotel Fangshan, and after a few days there, I can confirm it exceeded expectations!

First off, Fangshan is super easy to get to, only an hour's drive from the city.

Secondly, the Narada Hotel has excellent amenities. There's a kids' club, hot springs, several restaurants, a hot pot place, and even a coffee shop.

The hotel is nestled by mountains and a river. The mountains in winter have a unique, rugged beauty, and occasionally, a lone goose flies over the river. The sunset views are stunning – I even managed to capture Fangshan's version of 'golden peaks in the sunrise'!

One of the best parts of staying at a hotel in winter is soaking in hot springs. Narada has dozens of indoor hot spring pools, but the biggest surprise was their outdoor heated swimming pool. Even in the dead of winter, the kids could splash around, and they absolutely loved going in the mornings and evenings. The fact that our room also had a private pool was just perfect.

There's plenty to do nearby too, like Shihuadong Cave, Yinhu Cave, the Peking Man Museum, the Geological Museum, Hancunhe Market, and various fruit-picking farms.

During our stay, Beijing had its biggest snowfall of the winter. Narada Hotel Fangshan looked absolutely magical and was perfect for photos in the snow!

I'm definitely planning a return trip to Narada Hotel Fangshan in the summer to experience its different charm amidst the green mountains and clear waters.

Finally, a special thank you to our butler, Ouyang Zheng. He arranged everything perfectly, was incredibly thoughtful, and promptly attended to all our requests, making us feel especially warm and welcome in the cold winter.

The villa has three floors, with a small sunken courtyard at the entrance. Each floor has a bedroom, which can also be independent. The room is not big, the surrounding environment is very good, and there are a lot of greenery. Each villa's lane has its own name, Daisy Lane, Iris Lane, Rose Lane, etc. May is a good season, and the flowers corresponding to the lane are just in bloom. There is a large supporting park next to it, with apple orchards, big willow trees, Monet Garden, children's playground, and children's football field, where you can play as you like. Most of the people who come here are families with children or pets. The delivery picking is also very pleasant. Although there are many green tomatoes, it is very rewarding to pick out a bunch of red ones.
I especially want to thank the housekeeper Ma Aimin for his warm reminders before going, responding at any time after arriving, and asking me if I have any needs the next day. It feels very good, thank you very much!
The hotel also has room for improvement, such as it would be better if there were a sofa and multiple tables in the bedroom, and the carpet should be updated!

This was my first time staying in a family room with my child. My little one is still too young to fully enjoy the toys, and honestly, the toy quality in the room was quite subpar. Also, the light in the walk-in closet made strange noises during the latter half of the night, waking the baby up multiple times. Because of this, I won't be considering staying here again in the future.

The front desk staff had a good attitude. Although there was no bed rail, the crib was delivered very quickly. We ended up returning it as the mattress board wasn't practical, so we just made do with the large bed. When we went to the Chinese restaurant at lunchtime, there was no staff present at all. When someone eventually arrived, they were moving so slowly that it put us off wanting to eat there. It's quite odd to not be able to get lunch or dinner at a resort hotel. We ended up eating twice at the nearby Lang Lang Western Restaurant, which was also very suitable for young children, and I'd recommend it to similar guests.

The service in the breakfast restaurant was excellent – warm and prompt, which was the most satisfying part of our stay. If it weren't for that, my rating would definitely be lower. Overall, this hotel isn't very suitable for families with very young children.

We were upgraded to a sea view room for free, and there was capsule coffee. The balcony was a sea view, and it was very comfortable to take a nap facing the sea or drink a cup of coffee. The hotel also has a small garden where you can take a walk, and the gym is particularly well received. This is a rare hotel gym with a bench press. The only drawback is that the area is relatively deserted and it is difficult to get a taxi.
