Before my arrival, the hotel's service manager, Li Johansson, contacted me to inquire about my preferences. Upon learning that I wanted at least one room with a view, she went above and beyond to arrange two rooms with excellent views. She also thoughtfully informed me whether I could check in immediately upon arrival or if there would be a slight wait due to the peak travel season. When it comes to service, it's absolutely impeccable – truly a five-star experience.

Objectively, the hotel facilities are a bit dated, but the quality of service more than makes up for it. My only minor suggestion would be regarding breakfast: the food replenishment was a little slow, and the variety of dishes could be improved. Overall, this is a hotel I would definitely stay at again when visiting Shanghai. Excellent service is the foundation of customer loyalty, and in this regard, the Renaissance Yu Garden truly excels in my opinion.

When we arrived and went up to our room it wasn’t as described on trip.com. Fortunately Karen on the front desk came out to help us sort the issue and she was absolutely amazing, so helpful and obliging. She also spoke some English which was also very helpful. We ended up having an amazing day. The breakfast buffet was amazing so much western food to choose from which we were super impressed by. Also the dinner buffet was amazing. If you want to use the pool remember to take a swimming cap as they change a lot for them and you must swim with one on. 
The beds were super comfortable and the rooms are clean. The hotel has great restaurants and amenities and we would definitely stay again.

This is my second stay here. I brought my kids last time and it was so convenient. The subway is right downstairs, and Line 2 goes to both airports. I chose it again for my business trip this time. There's all sorts of food downstairs, plus a Hema Fresh supermarket. If you want to go for a walk, there's a park nearby too. It's super convenient for dining, accommodation, and entertainment.

We stayed at Renaissance Shanghai Putuo at the end of November and honestly loved our time there. We booked the Premier Room and it was so spacious — perfect for a family with one child. The bath tub was such a plus too, especially after long days of exploring.

One of our favourite parts was the indoor heated pool. Even in fall/winter, we could still enjoy swimming every day, and the jacuzzi/whirlpool was amazing. A huge shoutout to the staff who take care of the swimming facilities — they were so kind and even made handmade origami birds to entertain my son. Such a sweet touch!

We stayed for 10 days and really enjoyed the area too. The underground metro is just a few steps away, and the food choices downstairs are endless. Super convenient for families.

Overall, a lovely stay — spacious room, warm staff, great facilities, and the perfect location for exploring Shanghai. Highly recommend for families ❤️✨

The facilities are complete, comfortable, spacious, and bright, feeling quite new! The hygiene is excellent, and toiletries are fully stocked. The environment is quiet and pleasant, a true oasis in Shanghai. It's close to the subway station and InCity shopping mall, making shopping and dining very convenient! The service quality is top-notch; my room was upgraded, and I even received complimentary breakfast. The buffet breakfast is abundant and high-class. There's a gym and an indoor swimming pool; even if only one person is swimming, there are two lifeguards and one attendant on duty. The water quality is clear and good! A truly amazing experience!

The front desk service was exceptionally thoughtful and warm, with a gentle and patient attitude. Check-in was efficient, and they thoroughly explained the hotel facilities, making the whole process very comfortable. Any questions I had were answered promptly, showing their professionalism and attentiveness. The experience was superb! Such dedicated service is truly rare, and I must give it a full five-star rating. I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time.

This was my first time visiting Beijing with my child, primarily to see Tiananmen Square, the National Museum of China, and the Forbidden City. Since it was also May Day, I was looking for a hotel within the Second Ring Road, close to attractions and the subway, with a king-sized bed plus a twin bed (so adults and children could sleep undisturbed), and at a reasonable price. After a lot of searching, I settled on the Renaissance Beijing Wangfujing Hotel. The day before check-in, the hotel called to confirm my reservation and very thoughtfully asked if I had any specific requests. Overall, it exceeded my expectations: I arrived at the hotel at 10:30 AM, thinking they wouldn't let us check in so early, but they allowed us to check in ahead of time, which was a great start! The room was clean and fresh, dispelling my earlier worries from reviews that mentioned a strange smell. The hotel is very close to the Art Museum Station on Subway Line 8, just a few minutes' walk, and Wangfujing is also just a short stroll away, making it incredibly convenient. Breakfast, afternoon tea, and dinner were all served in the executive lounge on the 17th floor, and they were complimentary – that was a fantastic bonus!

This hotel is located in the heart of Beijing's CBD, close to a subway station, and within walking distance of several shopping malls and restaurants. The surrounding area offers excellent transportation links, making it incredibly convenient for both business travelers and tourists. Nearby, you'll find famous landmarks like the China World Trade Center and China Zun, contributing to a vibrant commercial atmosphere with abundant shopping and dining options, catering to all types of travel needs.

So lucky! Since I arrived quite late, the Executive King Room I originally booked was unavailable, and they upgraded me to the Presidential Suite instead. It's originally 48,000 a night – ridiculously huge, and honestly, a bit of a waste for just one person, haha! But overall, it was a fantastic experience. Perfect for couples looking to celebrate an anniversary. There's a massive living room plus a side lounge, making it great for a girls' birthday party or something similar. It even has a kitchen and a private bar in the side lounge, as you can see in the pictures.

The hotel boasts an excellent location right next to Central Park and within easy reach of the subway, making it convenient for sightseeing. The lobby is beautifully designed, with an elegant, warm, and comfortable atmosphere that connects to the lobby bar and the Flame restaurant. The Renaissance Chinese Restaurant (Wanli Xuan) also has a fantastic ambiance, delicious food, and reasonable prices, making it a great spot for a meal. The guest rooms are about 40 square meters, well-laid out, and fully equipped. The two 1.4-meter-wide beds are particularly good, with high-quality bedding ensuring a comfortable night's sleep. The shower head setup provides good water pressure, and I especially liked the adjustable handheld shower. The large bottles of toiletries have a pleasant scent, which was a nice touch. Overall, it's a truly wonderful place for a vacation, with great food, drinks, and activities!

Is a 500 per night hotel without breakfast so bad... I went there only because of the bathtub. The pillows were very uncomfortable, one was down and the other was very low. In addition, there was no paper in the room and I called the front desk to deliver it. There were water stains on the glass door, the floor was not mopped clean, and the toothbrush was of poor quality, not as good as Hanting. The trash cans in the bathroom and the room were not covered with plastic bags! The front desk did not tell me how to go down to the underground garage when I checked in on 5.19. When I asked the security guard about charging, he said he didn't know... I went down and looked for a while and took the wrong elevator again! In addition to the bathtub, the lake view I like is OK. Summary: The facilities are old and the service awareness needs to be improved.

Located right by the Taihu Bridge, connected to the Marriott, the hotel's entrance road is a necessary route to the bridge. During holidays, you might encounter traffic jams, but on the other hand, it also means you can avoid peak times when heading to the island. The breakfast is reasonably priced and offers good value for money; the Chinese options are better than the Western ones, but there's no fresh juice. If you don't feel like having a full meal, you can drive to the nearby Taikoo Centre mall, about 4km away. We happened to be there on a Saturday, and there was a 5-minute fireworks show at 7:30 PM. From our lake-view room, we could enjoy it up close without even leaving, which made the kids incredibly happy. Some of the hotel's facilities are showing their age – no Type-C ports, no electronic toilet, and an old-fashioned hairdryer. It's almost 10 years old, after all, but thankfully, the maintenance is still good. Since we traveled in spring, we didn't need air conditioning, so I can't comment on that. The twin beds are fine for two adults and two children, but they can't be pushed together. The bathroom takes up a good amount of space, and the balcony is also quite spacious, though I wish they'd replace the current sofa with outdoor-appropriate seating, as the fabric one looks like it's been through a lot of weather. The fitness center is good. Overall, if you're traveling with kids, the Renaissance is a top choice; if you prefer quiet, head to the Marriott next door.
