The room was supposedly upgraded to a business room, but it turned out to be a family room. Luckily, the space was quite large, the sofa was very comfortable to lie on, and the river view from the window was excellent. The gym might be temporary; it was very basic, but it offered a view of the Canton Tower. The bathroom door couldn't close properly and made a loud noise, so I had to be extremely quiet when using the toilet at night to avoid waking my friend. The sink counter was too small, with no space to put toiletries. It's odd that such a big room had such a tiny sink area.

This classic hotel truly stands out. The location is good, but for those who enjoy city walks, it's not ideal as you have to cross a skybridge, which can be quite tiring.

After returning from the Hilton downtown on a stormy night, I realized how much I love the White Swan! My child absolutely adored the complimentary children's toiletries bag (all featuring custom White Swan patterns). Both indoor and outdoor fish ponds provide great entertainment for kids to burn off energy (it was excellent to have places to take the child even with three days of heavy rain during our stay).

**Cleanliness:** Housekeeping twice a day – truly reassuring when traveling with a child!

**Environment:** The noise from planes overhead on the flight path can be quite loud (I was even woken up by it on my first stay).

**Service:** Traveling with a child often means frequent calls to the front desk and concierge, and the staff were consistently warm and helpful. There were many deliveries and takeaways, and the concierge was always on hand to help with receiving and sending them. The customer service department also handled various issues, making our stay with a child very stress-free!

I chose the veteran Guangzhou Baiyun Hotel because of its bustling commercial surroundings and convenient transportation. It's just a short bus ride to Guangzhou Wanguo Outlets, and other attractions are also easily accessible! I highly recommend trying the food at Da Ge Restaurant when you're in Guangzhou. Coincidentally, I visited on March 8th, and the hotel even warmly presented me with a rose!

Thanks to the front desk, they arranged for us to stay on a non-smoking floor, which we greatly appreciated! The room was clean and tidy, very nice!

The hotel is a bit old, but the staff are excellent. A problem I reported on the first day was perfectly resolved by the second day. They even gave my child a gift and a red envelope. There's a tall male lobby manager who is particularly polite and great at solving problems. We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time.

The front desk staff, particularly Sisi, provided excellent service and responded to messages promptly. The hotel and rooms were very clean, with housekeepers refreshing towels and toilet paper daily, and making the beds. When I was leaving for the airport, I had a lot of luggage and taxis were expensive. The front desk was able to help arrange a car for me. The only downside was the lack of a smart toilet/bidet. I booked two family rooms and two king rooms. The king rooms were great, and even had balconies. One of the family rooms had some electrical issues with many outlets not working, but the front desk was very helpful and did their best to assist.

The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was very comfortable, and the bath and face towels were thick. Hot water was readily available, and a late check-out until 2 PM was a great perk.

Breakfast offered the basic varieties; it wasn't lavish, but for this price point, especially being so close to the train station, it was quite good.

They have their own parking lot with plenty of spaces.

Here are a few minor downsides: The room size was a bit small, especially the vanity area – if you're a bit on the heavier side, you might find it hard to stand there comfortably. Free parking is only until 2:30 PM (during your stay); after that, it's 12 per hour. It would have been nice if it extended to the day of check-out, though I understand that might be an unreasonable request, haha. The small bedside lamp couldn't be turned off, which slightly affected my sleep.

The bedding and pillows in the room were clean, and the bathroom was also clean, though a bit on the small side. The front desk staff were polite and had warm smiles. They were very knowledgeable about Guangzhou's dining, entertainment, and transportation, and answered all our questions. Xiao Deng at the front desk was particularly enthusiastic and friendly; I was really impressed by him, and he made us feel right at home. A special thanks goes to Mr. Liu Jianming, the security guard in the hotel's parking lot. Besides helping us park in a suitable spot, he enthusiastically recommended the historical sites on Shamian Island, explaining the differences between day and night views and the best viewing spots. He also introduced us to the hotel's facilities. He truly is an ambassador for Shamian Island and the Victory Hotel.

Let's start with the downsides, as soon as I entered the room, there was a strong musty smell. I'm not sure if this is typical for Lingnan during this weather, or if the hotel is just old and the air conditioning hasn't been properly cleaned.

The front desk kindly upgraded us to a room with a massage mattress, but it didn't really help as we had originally booked a garden view room anyway. The upgrade only gave us a rooftop window view as shown in the picture.

To dehumidify, I ran the AC on the lowest cool setting all night, but it was useless. It was still very humid, with that musty smell. Also, the air conditioner didn't have a dehumidification option.

Next, the breakfast was truly awful. For a 900 yuan per night room, what was I supposed to eat? There was hardly any meat in the entire breakfast area. Only the steamed frozen Chinese dim sum was edible, but for a Northerner, that's hardly filling.

And here's the kicker: the milk was made from powder! There was only one type of toast.

The remaining Chinese dishes were all greasy stir-fries.

The complimentary welcome noodles were also terrible, completely flavorless. The so-called topping, listed as beef brisket, was actually just minced meat.

I strongly advise against choosing their breakfast option! You'd be better off eating anywhere outside!

I don't feel there's anything particularly praiseworthy because everything was just average, apart from the location, there's nothing else to comment on.

After a three-day trip in Zhuhai, I still chose Guangdong Hotel when returning to Guangzhou. In my opinion, this hotel is excellent in three aspects: great location, impeccable hygiene, and top-notch service. Especially after comparing it with hotels in Zhuhai, I have to give this place extra praise. The hotel is close to many of Guangzhou's attractions, and there are tons of great food options nearby. I tried Lianhualou and Huixingyuan, and a small shop nearby served an amazing ginger milk pudding. The surrounding area has a lively, authentic local vibe, and you can really feel Guangzhou's festive Chinese New Year atmosphere reflected in the flower displays all over the streets. It truly lives up to its name as the 'City of Flowers,' and this hotel perfectly complements the beauty of Guangzhou.

The hotel's overall ambiance is quiet and elegant. The hallways are clean and tidy with no noise, and the common areas are decorated with green plants, creating a very comfortable feeling. The elevators operate smoothly, making it easy to go up and down, and there's a subtle, pleasant fragrance in the corridor on each floor. I also felt very secure staying here; you need to use a key card to enter and exit, and it's very quiet at night, so there's absolutely no worry about being disturbed.

The hotel is great, with a fantastic location and excellent facilities. I called ahead and requested a room on the 8th floor because I'd seen reviews mentioning poor views from the 5th floor. The 8th floor was indeed much better, with a perfect view of Meijiang. The hotel breakfast was also good; you could even have preserved noodles. However, the front desk staff's attitude was quite poor. When I went to check in, two people were talking about something, and they continued their conversation even after seeing me. After they finished, they didn't even say hello or anything; they just asked if I was checking in. The next day at checkout, no one said hello either; they just told me to hand over the room card. For a supposedly good hotel in the area, the service really falls short.

The rooms are clean and spacious, with good lighting, reasonable layout design and convenient use, and the service staff are warm and courteous. The location is excellent, the entrance is the immigration square, facing the Meijiang River, the view is wide and the scenery is good. During the day, you can go out and turn left to the ancient town. At night, you can take a walk by the river at the door, or you can go to the hotel terrace to see the stars or have a drink. Overall it feels good.

The room was very spacious with a great ambiance and good soundproofing, so we weren't disturbed during our rest. The service was also very attentive, and we even received small gifts like a fridge magnet and a keychain upon check-in – really thoughtful! 

**Facilities:** Besides being well-equipped, the underground parking garage has charging stations, there are USB ports on both sides of the bed, and the shower room, with its wet-dry separation, even has hooks for hanging clothes. So many thoughtful details! Definitely worth commending and recommending!

**Hygiene:** The entire room was very neat and clean.

**Service:** Extremely thoughtful. From check-in to check-out, everything was attentive. They even specially changed our room because of road construction outside.

Service: The staff were all very helpful and friendly. 👍

Environment: A stylish and trendy hotel, perfect for Instagram photos. 🏨

Hygiene: Spotlessly clean.

Facilities: The smart home features were a bit finicky. At night, the toilet would often auto-flush and open its lid even when no one was around. The lights also had a sound sensor, turning on with any noise when I was trying to sleep. Furthermore, the shampoo and shower gel bottles were constantly knocked off by the shower hose and were difficult to dispense. These are areas that definitely need improvement.

Facilities (positive aspects): On the positive side, the bathtub was excellent, complete with disposable bath liners and bath salts. Disposable toilet seat covers and other small amenities showed great attention to detail.

Environment (positive aspects): It was also lovely to enjoy a drink and moonlight on the rooftop in the evening. Both the room and balcony were very spacious, as was the bathroom. The toilet was pristine, with no odd stains, which speaks volumes about their hygiene standards.

Environment (location): The hotel's location within a pedestrian street was perfect for shopping and sightseeing. However, parking outside the hotel proved to be a major inconvenience.

Service (overall impression): I specifically chose this hotel because of the White Swan brand, and overall, I had a very positive experience. 👍
