We stayed at Hotel Landmark Canton Guangzhou for 4 nights and had a very enjoyable and comfortable experience.

We were pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a Club Room. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the toilet was very clean. One thing that really stood out was the service from our room attendant. He remembered that we did not drink coffee and, instead of leaving the usual coffee supplies, he thoughtfully provided us with extra tea bags every day. It was a small gesture, but it showed great attention to detail and made us feel well taken care of.

We also enjoyed having breakfast at a discounted rate. Another fun part of our stay was using the hotel's robots to deliver food to our room. It was a unique experience and something we really enjoyed.

The concierge team was also very helpful. At one point, my luggage somehow got stuck and I couldn't open it, but the concierge kindly helped me get it open. I really appreciated his patience and assistance.

Overall, it was a pleasant, comfortable, and memorable 4-night stay. The thoughtful service from the staff made a real difference to our experience. I would definitely consider returning to Hotel Landmark Canton the next time I visit Guangzhou.

The location is excellent, and the front desk staff were quite welcoming. My flight was delayed, so I didn't arrive until after midnight, but they kindly extended my check-out time, which I really appreciated. The room size was decent, and there were many foreign guests staying. However, the hotel facilities are a bit old. I was taking a shower when three or four staff members knocked on my door asking if I had been smoking and triggered the smoke alarm. It was truly speechless. I hope they improve the facilities and service quality.

The service was great; we got a room upgrade, and the morning tea was delicious. There were a lot of foreign guests staying there. The decor is a bit old-fashioned but well-maintained, and the service was excellent. It was clean and tidy. This is an older five-star hotel with a good location, right next to the Friendship Store.

Let's start with the downsides. The overall facilities and decor are a bit old and outdated, which is to be expected given the hotel's age. The bathroom doesn't have a separate shower (you have to stand in the bathtub to shower), no smart toilet, and the TV doesn't support screen mirroring (or maybe I just couldn't figure it out). Since the hotel is in a scenic area, if you want to take the subway, you have to cross a pedestrian bridge (without an escalator), which might be inconvenient for those with mobility issues. The day I arrived, I came out of Baiyun Airport T3 with luggage and, thinking it would be a bit of a walk to the ride-hailing pick-up point, I took a taxi. There was no queue, and I estimated it would be around 120 RMB, but I ended up paying over 180 RMB to the hotel, clearly ripped off. I'd recommend using ride-hailing apps like Didi when in Guangzhou. Later, when I went to Shunde and called a Didi, the driver told me halfway that I needed to cover the round-trip highway tolls (I'd certainly cover the one-way), and I didn't say anything. I just let him add it to the fare and later reported it to the platform, and I got a refund quickly.

Now for the positives :) Firstly, the hotel's location is superb, right on Shamian Island, surrounded by historic buildings that are perfect for photos! It's also not far from Yongqingfang, Shangxiajiu, and Beijing Road Pedestrian Street; it's convenient to walk or take a taxi. Secondly, the hotel's Yu Tang Chun Nuan is a well-known Guangzhou restaurant. We had dim sum for breakfast, and it was perfect, though a bit pricey, but worth it. You can buy some dim sum from the ground floor to take away; skip the mooncakes as nobody eats them now, but the Sachima is quite good and makes a nice gift. The hotel staff are generally of high quality and are mostly very accommodating.

Very close to Guangzhou Station, the hotel has been renovated and the facilities are new. Although the room isn't big, the layout is decent and everything you need is there. It's also convenient for dining nearby, making it a good value for business trips.

My stay at Guangdong Victory Hotel was a mix of pleasant surprises and minor disappointments. The hotel's facilities definitely exceeded my expectations; this century-old European-style building beautifully preserves textured details like Xiguan Manchu windows and a vintage elevator. The newly renovated rooms are clean and bright, the bedding is just right in terms of softness, and amenities like the pool and gym are well-maintained and easy to use. The overall service was just decent; the front desk wasn't particularly friendly, but thankfully housekeeping was very responsive, which made for a relatively hassle-free stay. The location on Shamian Island is fantastic, with lush greenery and river views right outside, perfect for a leisurely stroll. Overall, it offers good value for money and is ideal for travelers looking to experience old Guangzhou charm.

The room was very clean, tidy, and spacious, with no peculiar odors. Its location on Shamian North Street offers great street views from morning to night, beautiful both day and night. After dinner, it's just a three-minute walk to the Shamian landmark. There's a convenience store right opposite the hotel, and a ramen shop and McDonald's next door, making it super convenient.

Guangdong Guest House has a great location and a beautiful environment. The hotel's hygiene is also decent. 

However, there are a few downsides:

Firstly, when checking in, the front desk gave me several discount coupons (10 yuan each), but be aware that you can only use one at a time! Even for just one coupon, the restaurant had to call someone to confirm it when I was paying. Is there no communication between the front desk and the restaurant?

Secondly, even with the 'Do Not Disturb' light on, the cleaning staff knocked on the door and called my room. Not only that, but they also swiped their card to open the door without my permission. How are they trained?

Absolutely fantastic! The hotel facilities are well-maintained, and the views are lovely. It's beautiful and very close to the city center. The service is also quite good, but the main highlight is truly how stunning it is, complete with a bathtub. The price is incredibly good value.

The service was excellent; the staff at the restaurant, lobby, and even the doorman were all very attentive. The location is fantastic – right next to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and the subway station is just a 3-minute walk away. Beijing Road Pedestrian Street is only about 10 minutes away, making dining very convenient. I did see comments about the carpet having an odor and the furniture being old, and those points are true. However, I still believe in the quality of a 4-star hotel, and I was very satisfied overall.

The environment here is beautiful, right by the river. It's super convenient, just a few minutes walk across the bridge to the old town. The service is amazing! They helped me with a late check-out and even gave me two extra bottles of water, a toothbrush, and a blanket. Especially noteworthy is that I'm quite forgetful and left a valuable cinnabar and gold bead bracelet under the pillow. The cleaning staff found it, brought it to the front desk, contacted me via WeChat, and returned it to me. Their honesty and quick handling of the situation deserve so many thumbs up! Next time I come to Meizhou, I will definitely stay at the White Swan again! 🫶 Thanks a lot 😊

The hotel is a renovated historic building, and some of the design elements (such as the windows) retain their nostalgic character. 🏠🏠 The rooms are bright, clean, and very comfortable.
The front desk staff was friendly and helpful, sharing detailed information about nearby attractions. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 It was pouring rain when we checked out, but the front desk staff not only reminded us to drive to the hotel's location, but also held an umbrella for us and helped us load our luggage into the car. Very thoughtful. 🥰🥰🥰

Hygiene: Spotlessly clean.

Facilities: The smart home features were a bit finicky. At night, the toilet would often auto-flush and open its lid even when no one was around. The lights also had a sound sensor, turning on with any noise when I was trying to sleep. Furthermore, the shampoo and shower gel bottles were constantly knocked off by the shower hose and were difficult to dispense. These are areas that definitely need improvement.

Facilities (positive aspects): On the positive side, the bathtub was excellent, complete with disposable bath liners and bath salts. Disposable toilet seat covers and other small amenities showed great attention to detail.

Environment (positive aspects): It was also lovely to enjoy a drink and moonlight on the rooftop in the evening. Both the room and balcony were very spacious, as was the bathroom. The toilet was pristine, with no odd stains, which speaks volumes about their hygiene standards.

Environment (location): The hotel's location within a pedestrian street was perfect for shopping and sightseeing. However, parking outside the hotel proved to be a major inconvenience.

Service (overall impression): I specifically chose this hotel because of the White Swan brand, and overall, I had a very positive experience. 👍

The hotel isn't in the bustling city center, which makes it pretty quiet. It's about 8 kilometers to Guangji Bridge and Paifang Street. The decor is quite modern and looks clean and tidy. Parking is also very convenient. For over 1000 RMB on Chinese New Year's Day, it was a pretty good value-for-money option during the Spring Festival. Even though there were a lot of guests recently, including tour groups, the front desk and restaurant staff handled everything seamlessly. On the contrary, their attitude was friendly and well-organized, and the restaurant cleared tables and dishes incredibly quickly. Highly recommend! The young lady at the front desk, whose surname I think was Huang (I peeked at her name tag), was very pretty and had a lovely smile. She explained everything in great detail, no matter how small. So, when it comes to service, it really depends on the individual staff, not just the hotel's star rating.
