We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Although the room was quite small, it was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with all the basic amenities needed for a short stay. The location was excellent, there were many restaurants just next to the hotel offering plenty of food choices, and a convenience store nearby made it easy to grab essentials. Overall, it was a good and enjoyable stay, offering great value for money.

The V hotel Lavender’s location was super great, it just above the Lavender MRT station, with different convenient shops, food court, fast food burger kings nearby. Hotel service staff is nice too, and the breakfast is great.  
Will definitely book again for my next visit here to Singapore.

This is my second time staying at Hotel Mi Rochor. The last time I stayed here, it was due to a film festival event that was happening nearby at Lasalle. This time, I had just arrived back from Melbourne, didn’t want to go home just yet as I had an event at Lasalle too, so I decided to book a room for one night!

Room was good, though not as clean as the last room that I stayed at - which was actually flawless! This room had some stray hairs and other bits of dirt still left lying around, and quite a bit of hair on the bathroom floor as I entered. Not really an issue.

Bed was clean. And there are no bugs. So I am happy. That’s my constant worry for all hotels.

I like the high floor, and balcony. Thank you so much for the upgrade of the balcony. Like the last time that I was here, I got the penultimate floor again. A different area of the building this time though (as I was facing Lasalle the other time), but still quite a panoramic view. 

Television still super huge. Have never seen a telly that big before in a hotel room. I did enjoyed HBO, though I think some of the other channels were not working as well. Couldn’t get ABC Australia (only sound), and Vasantham seemed to have duplicated itself onto 2 other channels despite it saying that it’s CNA. Actually found that more amusing than anything.

Check-in was smooth and quick. Massive out to Masao who attended to me. Super quick and seamless. I’ve just realised from my previous review that he attended to my check-in the last visit as well. But it was only this visit that I found out that he’s a skater as well! He saw my board and we started talking about skateboarding, and realised that we had mutual acquaintances. Small world! Love it’
As a customer (and also as someone who has worked behind the counter before), I value lovely moments like these as it really shows the humans behind the desk or uniform. If you know what I mean.

Location-wise, Hotel Mi is still situated within such a great location. A decent drop-off point for vehicles, even for 13 seaters, which is quite comparative and competitive to other hotels within the same location. I can see why it is sometimes used as a hotel for performing groups, or bands coming to Singapore.

Train and buses are nearby; both heading either towards the city or downtown. In addition, food options are a plenty, thanks to the two arts colleges which are there - adding to the vibrancy of the area.
A short walk away, Tekka and Little India is nearby too! Such a melting pot!

Courteous and accomodative of all staff . Rooms may be slightly small but very clean with basics that satisfy my stay. Location is a plus with good acessibility to foodstalls around, bus stop to further interest attractions, malls, hawker foid, and shopping ..all within close to proximity fistances of 7 to 12 minutes. Its my favorite stay experience  here when im in Singapore visit. Would be back the next.

Bus stop just in front of the Hotel. Nearby there are many restaurants as well. Since, bus stop access is very important to me, I've repeatedly stayed in this hotel. You can put your luggage in the hotel after checkout then pick it up later while waiting for your departure.

The hotel is a newly renovated 4-star hotel that is located beside Bencoolen MRT Station and short walking distance to Bras Basah MRT Station. 

The Hotel Reception, Mr Ray, was very polite and helpful. The muslim Bellman was helpful and helped us to tap his card to the lift to let us go up to our hotel room.

The hotel room may be small but functional with filter water. There is a nice pool at level 2. 

The hotel is located near National Stadium, Singapore Management University, Fort Canning, Grid at Selegie, Prinsep Street Café and Restaurant, Sunshine Plaza, and Bugis 

There are many shops and eateries around. Will certainly return back to this hotel to stay in the near future.

The room was quite small but I liked it. It was cozy and comfortable. The room and the bed were clean and the aircon worked perfectly. The only drawback was the thin walls. You could here noises from the walkway. Otherwise, the hotel is located in a nice and quite neighborhood. There are a lot of food outlets serving local cuisines nearby within walking distance. For transportation, there is a bus station nearby.

Comfortable stay, although the room is too small for a superior queen,But it should still be enough since we only stay at night and enjoy Singpore in the morning.for the price, it’s fine worth it.
Our bed is being made up everyday. The guy who assisted us was really helpful, I wasn’t able to give him a tip because we are already in a hurry. But he was really good. Upon arrival he already offered to take our bags, initially our key card didn’t work but he was there to replaced it immediately. He even orient us about the pool and it’s operating hours even the laundry area. Which we didn’t know until he mentioned it. There’s no fancy lobby when you enter the hotel but there’s coaches where you can sit on while waiting for your room to be ready.

Location: right in the center of the colourful & vibrant scene of Joo Chiat Road in Katong District - a residential conservation area with a wonderful fusion of modern day houses & UNESCO heritage charming nyonya architecture.

Room: it’s clean and orderly as advertised. It does serve you the essential needs of brushing your teeth, shower & toilet. Bed was decently comfy but just that the bed was a bit shorter than my height despite claiming as queen sized. No roaches, good water pressure for shower, clean drinking water from tap. 

Lobby: there are 2 macintosh computers for browsing. There are 2 books in the trendy looking quiet lobby (1 was a good read for me). Staff are attentive and helpful.

The jewel is the hotel’s JooChiat st location. I’d stay here again if visiting Singapore. I loved the coffee and bread at Olsen bakery next door too the barista was uniquely polite and friendly, all stars.

🛏️ Hotel 81｜Budget Stay That Does the Job

If you’re just looking for a place to sleep in Singapore that won’t burn a hole in your wallet, Hotel 81 is your best bet. It was the cheapest option I could find, and honestly, it gets the job done.

The room was clean, comfortable, and had all the basics I needed. Big plus: my room had a window, which made a huge difference in making the space feel less claustrophobic. Don’t expect luxury — this is purely a functional stay.

It’s not a place for lounging or extended stays, but if you just need a safe, air-conditioned room to crash in after a full day out, Hotel 81 delivers. Would definitely consider staying again for a short stopover.

Facilities: The room was quite large for a family room, but the bathroom drain was terrible, overflowing whenever I showered. The hotel is generally dated, but its location is excellent, less than 500 meters from Kistan Square.

Cleanliness: My biggest complaint was the cleanliness. Upon check-in, I discovered the bed linen hadn't been changed. The cleaner was incredibly lazy, only coming once during my three-day stay.

Environment: On our first night, I was disturbed by a barking dog. After I requested it, they moved it away.

Service: The best thing about this hotel was the front desk staff, who were very polite. The breakfast service was also excellent.

Ample parking The room is very clean. Equipment and appliances are complete in the room. Impressed, whoever comes, will definitely not be disappointed 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
