I will never stay at this hotel again. As a five-star hotel, several things left me extremely disappointed!

1.  **Extremely slow check-in process at the front desk!** The first check-in took forever. After staying two nights, I decided to extend my stay in the same room. It took 15 minutes just to reactivate my room key card. On the third day, I still couldn't get the elevator to work when I went upstairs, so I had to go back to the front desk to reactivate the card again. Plus, the front desk is quite a distance from Building A.

2.  **Lack of basic amenities upon arrival.** On the first day, when I entered the room, there were no slippers or amenity kits (like dental kits, etc.). This clearly shows a lack of preparedness from housekeeping. I immediately called the front desk to request them. It took three hours and two phone calls for them to finally deliver the items. The next day, after the room was serviced, essential items like tissues, slippers, and cotton pads weren't replenished. I had to call the front desk again to request them. They said they'd send them right away, but I waited another hour. It wasn't until my second call that they finally sent a robot with the supplies.

3.  **Very mediocre breakfast.** For a five-star hotel, they didn't even provide knives and forks! I had to eat fruit with chopsticks.

4.  **Lake view room was uncomfortably hot with non-functional AC.** Lake view rooms are inherently more expensive than non-lake view rooms, but my room was incredibly hot. The air conditioning provided no cooling whatsoever and didn't even have a ventilation function. The only way the room cooled down was when it rained.

The hotel is located within the Zhejiang University Research Institute campus. I brought my child here for an event this time, and Manager Mei at the front desk was very enthusiastic and helped me a lot with my stay. I'll definitely stay here again next time.

**Taizhou Station to Hotel Shuttle Service:** Very useful.

The room was spacious, especially the ensuite bathroom. The breakfast buffet had a rich selection of Taizhou specialties. There's really no need to follow the trending online food posts; they don't really reflect the experience. It's best to just have breakfast at a local hotel. My two-night stay was very comfortable. The only problem was the pool, which was probably closed to the public, wasn't very pleasant. There were a lot of children learning to swim, and the pool itself was small, so it felt a bit crowded.

The unexpected upgrade to the Tingxiang King Bed was a delightful surprise on my trip! Stepping into the room, the bright and airy space instantly soothed my travel fatigue. The oversized bed with its soft, luxurious bedding felt like being enveloped in clouds as I drifted off to sleep. The supportive mattress provided excellent comfort, allowing me to relax completely and sleep soundly through the night.

The room details were impeccable. The bathroom, with its separate shower and toilet, was spotless, and equipped with all the necessary smart features. A special thank you to Elena at the front desk; she was incredibly warm and patient throughout the check-in and check-out process, answering all my questions with professional and thoughtful service. This stay was exceptionally good value, perfectly embodying quality and comfort. It's now on my must-have travel accommodation list, and I highly recommend it!

Hotel environment: It's quite nice, with many camphor trees planted, just like on the streets outside. It was the season when camphor flowers bloom, so walking around the hotel was quite pleasant. The greenery on the hotel's back hill was also well-maintained, and some cherry trees were still in bloom.

Facilities: Average. The curtains were electrically controlled, but some parts needed replacement. The bedside outlets were very loose, and plugs would just fall out.

Service: The hotel offered a free room upgrade and proactively gave us two key cards. The front desk staff and bellhops were very friendly. However, the room service response was poor. We needed a staff member to pick up our takeout. I called twice, and they said they'd handle it, but no one did from evening until check-out the next morning.

Hygiene: Generally acceptable. A blind spot was a cooked prawn leg found on the window seat cushion.

Booked two rooms of the same standard, with slightly different layouts. The hotel housekeeping service is OK, and it proactively provides turndown service, but there is no goodnight dessert for men. The bathtub faucet can be switched to a shower as a warm reminder for customers, and it took a long time to switch. In addition, the sockets on the two bedside tables in the room are not of good quality and are very loose. All plugs will fall off when plugged in. You can only charge in the water heating and desk area. I hope the quality of this facility can keep up. The breakfast variety is quite rich, but not as delicious as expected, and the auntie in the rice and flour area is obviously too busy, so her attitude is slightly poor. I hope some facilities and services can be more in line with the hotel grade.

When choosing this hotel, I saw reviews claiming it was the best in the seaside area, but my overall experience was quite average.

Firstly, the parking lot design was extremely flawed. After parking in the underground garage, there was no elevator to the upper floors; we had to carry our luggage up the stairs before we could use the elevator. Since most hotel guests bring suitcases, and we had a child and a stroller with us, this was incredibly inconvenient. I've never stayed in a hotel like this before. The hotel design was also strange. The VIP reception was on the fifth floor, unlike typical hotels where you're greeted in the lobby. Our experience from the parking lot to the fifth floor was unpleasant, and the facilities didn't match the price.

Secondly, regarding service, the overall experience was very average. Aside from one staff member at the fifth-floor reception, we barely encountered any hotel staff. We even had to walk to the adjacent reception building for breakfast. The previous night, we stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Shenxianju, where the staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. In comparison, our experience at the VIP hotel was a stark contrast, even though the VIP room rate was significantly higher than the DoubleTree by Hilton. A reviewer added us on WeChat the day before check-in, but it was essentially just for recording our license plate. The booking confirmation mentioned a complimentary gift, and reviews also confirmed it was included, but we didn't receive one upon check-out.

Regarding the facilities, the hotel is quite old, and some are dated, but the rooms were generally decent. There was welcome fruit upon entry, and a late-night bowl of noodles was served, which tasted good.

Overall, this experience was very average. I had high expectations for the hotel based on the reviews, but the actual experience was quite disappointing. For the price, I'm not satisfied with the experience.

The hotel is quite new, and the staff are very welcoming. The room is also very bright, and everything overall is excellent. The breakfast is also quite rich. All in all, it offers great value for money. It's worth staying here again.

The hotel was quiet and the room was cool. Breakfast and the gym were both good. Front desk staffer Xiao Yuan provided excellent service, helping me quickly get my invoice and even giving me a souvenir. Although it was my first business trip to Changzhou and I encountered Typhoon White Dolphin, it didn't affect my mood at all. I highly recommend everyone choose this hotel!
