"OK for one night but with a heater that doesn't get warm enough it's a disaster, I was freezing in the room. It wasn't nice. The faucet could do with a new one. And then they put a bottle of water out there without a bottle opener. Not justified for the price in my opinion."
"Every year, the Cologne exhibition lives here, the transportation is convenient, and there is a lidl supermarket next to it. The fly in the ointment is that there is nothing to eat nearby."
"Overall, my stay was a mixed bag. The hotel's location is excellent, with plenty of dining and shopping options nearby, which remains a definite plus. However, there's significant room for improvement concerning room facilities, cleanliness, and service details.
Pros:
✅ Convenient Location: The hotel is surrounded by numerous restaurants and supermarkets, making daily life incredibly easy.
✅ Front Desk Service Was Okay: The front desk staff's attitude was acceptable.
Areas for Improvement:
⚠️ Cramped Room Space: The hotel rooms are very compact.
⚠️ Bed Setup Affected Sleep: The double bed I booked was actually made from two single beds pushed together. I kept falling into the gap between them, which severely impacted my sleep quality.
⚠️ Towel Cleanliness Issues: The towels had stains, indicating that hygiene needs to be stepped up.
⚠️ Lack of Essentials and Proactive Service: There was no soap provided in the room, and no staff member proactively replaced it. This significantly detracted from the overall comfort of the stay.
Conclusion:
Despite the hotel's good location and acceptable front desk service, the room size, bed design, towel cleanliness, and especially the lack of essential items (like soap) without proactive replenishment, significantly affected my experience. I hope the hotel can improve its facilities and the meticulousness of its service based on these points."
"Room and hotel super clean.
- Thank you.
8 euros to park at hotel or surveyed place , expensive , is allowed in the price. You can also park free in surrounding streets.
Breakfast good , but made up yourself breads
Café late mocht warmer .
To reach Cologne ; 20 minutes walk and then a tram .
Nearby no option to go to eat or drink anything else at walking distance , in residential neighborhood
Bar: self-control with a few seats.
Good for 1 time"
"I didn't take photos of the Superior room, but it's definitely more spacious than the standard room. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, which I actually prefer. The hotel is very close to the Chocolate Museum and right by the Rhine River. In the mornings, lots of people are out walking and exercising, so the environment is quite pleasant."
"The room is quite spacious and modern, and it comes with toiletries. The view is also expansive, and the lobby is impressive. It's a great choice for a relaxing stay."
"I chose this hotel for the second time because it's convenient for working at the exhibition center. You just have to cross the street and you're directly in the exhibition district. The hotel itself is very large and well-organized, with spacious and clean rooms, and fast elevators that are almost always readily available. The breakfast room is big and well-stocked. A special thanks to the very kind Ms. Miriam at reception, who was very friendly and professional."
"This hotel in Cologne had a great location! While not right in the city center, it was still within walking distance and felt a bit quieter and more peaceful than being right in the hustle and bustle. We stayed during a heatwave, so the free lemon-infused iced water in the lobby was an absolute godsend. Plus, the rooftop view was amazing, with clear sights of famous landmarks!"

Amazing
GGuest UserStayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again.
GGuest UserThe room was nice and spacious. We went here in the winter and the heater worked well and it stayed pretty warm. It had everything we needed here and you can request things and services through there website (for free). The hotel also had a sauna and fitness to use for free. We only used the sauna and it was really relaxing. The only downside was that the location wasn’t that optimal for the places we wanted to visit.
TThomas_K_19900326A thoroughly enjoyable stay! The hotel is super centrally located and perfect for exploring Cologne on foot. The breakfast was – as always – outstanding: a great selection, fresh and delicious. The friendly and attentive staff really stood out and made the stay even more pleasant. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I'd happily come back again and can definitely recommend the hotel!
GGuest UserWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!
GGuest UserI had a great stay at Hotel Flandrischer Hof! The location is excellent — right in the heart of Cologne and just a short walk from everything I needed. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which made it easy to relax after a busy day.
The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty with a good variety. I’d definitely stay here again next time I visit the city. Great value for the price!
KKuantwVery close to the station. For late check-in, you need to contact the hotel in advance to get the access code and key. The room was clean and the bed was quite comfortable. The hot water was okay, but it would be better if it were a bit hotter. It was really good value for money with the discount! Perfect for a layover.
AA WariavwalaExcellent hotel quality and very friendly service. Any issues were promptly resolved by hotel. Highly recommended. BF was excellent and so were the swim pool and sauna.
旅旅遊小白There are two ways to get back to the hotel. One way is to go from the train station, detour to the subway station, and then come up. This route is better as you avoid the sun and it's easier to push luggage. The other way is to exit the train station, walk past the Cologne Cathedral, cross the road, and reach the hotel. This takes about 7-8 minutes with luggage, so it's a bit further. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, but the staff were very friendly and helped me carry my luggage upstairs, which I really appreciated. They also offer free coffee and water.
GGuest UserVery friendly service, perfect location though noisy due to its proximity to the train station. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the furnishings were quite run-down: torn bed linen, windows that didn't close properly, a broken lamp, and a shattered lamp in the bathroom.
Ccdtheunicornlovely lobby with charging amenities and places to rest and study, the staff was also very nice helped fix a coffee machine when it was broken and refunded my coffee. also very near to metro station (see pics) definitely recommended for solo travelers.
