I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to help with anything we needed and making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The room was spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained — exactly what you hope for after a long day of travelling. One of the best parts of the stay was the location. It couldn’t have been more convenient, situated right beside the station and within easy reach of everything in the centre. It made getting around the city effortless. Overall, a great experience — I would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

The front desk Myanmar guy intentionally gave me some hard time telling me my English name is different from my legal name which is funny. I came to this hotel 2months ago it was the same guy who check me in and he even mentioned he recognized me but giving me hard time at check in which is something I don’t get?! The dryer is extremely dirty. One Japanese mid age female front desk came over to our room being pushy for checking out saying she will charge us more money after 11:15pm. The late checkout charge didn’t notify at the time of checkin This hotel is overall in a really old condition. The floor carpet is wear out

This hotel is in a great location, accessible to multiple subway lines and within walking distance of several key points of interest. Having stayed in Japan before, I was prepared for the smaller room sizes compared to North American standards; however, this room was exceptionally tight. There was not enough floor space to keep our suitcases open. The highlight of our stay was definitely the on-site sauna, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Unfortunately, the service felt unwelcoming. Most staff members avoided eye contact, creating a cold atmosphere. The exception was the non-Japanese native staff members; my mother, who enjoys sitting in the lobby in the mornings, found them to be much more approachable and friendly than the other daily workers. A major downside for us was the smoking area located between the lobby and the elevators. Because it opens briefly to the outside when connecting the two sections, the lobby and walkway would frequently reek of cigarette fumes. While I understand that smoking is common and the hotel caters to many business travelers, the layout doesn't protect other guests from the secondhand smoke. Summary: While the location and sauna are excellent, the lack of a welcoming atmosphere and the lingering smell of smoke make it hard to fully recommend for those sensitive to service or air quality.

The room isn't huge, but the location more than makes up for it. It's super convenient – you just pop out of the subway station, cut through a small lane, and you're at the hotel, literally a few dozen meters away. Plus, there are tons of drugstores and restaurants nearby. I'd definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

Easy to find and very close to the subway station. There's a convenience store just around the corner. Check-in was incredibly smooth and simple. There are plenty of food options nearby, all within walking distance. Staying in Akasaka makes it convenient to go anywhere. Even though there's construction nearby, it wasn't noisy at all. The room was also very clean. When I returned, I noticed the trash had been emptied and towels replaced. The breakfast selection was extensive. After an early morning flight, I went straight to the hotel to drop off my luggage and then went out to explore. When checking in, there were no language barriers, and the staff were attentive and patient throughout – absolutely excellent! If I get the chance to visit again, I would definitely choose to stay here.

Overall, we appreciated the hotel since it’s clean and the location was really nice and accessible. They also have free water bottles and toiletries that you can get at the reception. They also provided us free breakfast. Most of the reception staff were really friendly and approachable except on our last day. We needed some assistance regarding our luggages thru Yamato. We inquired twice before the day we needed it to be delivered to clarify if they can assist us and they happily wanted to help us. But the day itself was really a turn off for us, since the reception staff, a different person (better not to mention his name) was really reluctant on helping us. There was a language barrier but we really knew he just didn’t want to accommodate us from his expressions and gestures. Going back and forth, in the end he still managed to help us but it was really stressful on our en. I hope this can be avoided.

The location is very convenient, but the nearest subway exit doesn't have an elevator. You need to do your research beforehand, otherwise, you'll end up like me, rushing to catch a flight and taking the closest entrance, lugging your suitcase downstairs – it was exhausting. Within the Ginza area, shopping and dining are a breeze. Plus, if you walk towards Tsukiji, it's not the bustling Ginza at all; it's a very quiet neighborhood.

Extremely satisfied with this hotel! It's a huge garden hotel, perfectly aligning with my preference for an 'old money' aesthetic. The rooms are incredibly spacious, the service is excellent, and I was impressed by the attention to detail. Unexpectedly, the room attendant who tidied my room was a very young and pretty lady (I've included a photo of the tidied room). The garden scenery is beautiful! The dining service is great, though the breakfast buffet is a bit simple.

This was my second stay here. The self-check-in at the front desk is perfect for introverts like me, and you can grab amenities as needed. There's a 7-Eleven right downstairs, which is super convenient – I loved getting snacks there every night to take back to my room. Exchanging currency was also easy. Overall, I highly recommend it; it's just a few minutes' walk from the subway station, which is great.

GGuest UserI traveled alone and my room is for 1-2 ppl. I enjoyed my stay. Staff are very cheerful, sincerely and helpful. The location is excellent which the metro exit is next to the hotel but the exit is only stairs. Those travelers who have big luggage might be very concerned. There are many restaurants nearby also convenience store. The room is very neat very tidy but a bit crowded if 2ppl. Not much space for your luggage. The amenities are great! I loved the onsen so much!! Because i came for Garmin Run Aisa and it helped me recover alot! I probably recommend my fds to come and I will come next time for my trip to Tokyo.

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob). Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn. They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park. However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay: 1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around. 2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

BBananeSecond time in this hotel and I liked it very much. The hotel is around ~8 minutes walking from Ikebukuro station North West exit. You can choose your pillow, get a pajama and take a bath. If you don't use toothbrush you can give back to the lobby and get a little snack which I did to try Japanese local snacks. The size of the room is okay for solo travelers. The breakfast is self service with japanese and western cuisine. And the staff are just so kind. I highly recommend if you're looking for modern Japanese experience.

GGuest UserHere's a review of a hotel located in the heart of Akasaka, offering easy access to two subway lines. It's a quiet business-boutique hotel with more spacious rooms than similar establishments, making it ideal for commuting to the city center or exploring Roppongi/Akasaka. **Key Highlights (Reasons to Choose This Hotel):** 1. **Dual Subway Access + Central Akasaka – Convenient for Anywhere:** * Approximately a 4-minute walk to Akasaka Station and a 6-minute walk to Tameike-Sanno Station, covering multiple lines for easy access to Ginza, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station. Haneda Airport is about 45-60 minutes away. * Within walking distance of Roppongi, Tokyo Midtown, and Akasaka Sacas, boasting vibrant shopping and dining areas. A 7-Eleven is conveniently located downstairs, making daily life easy. * The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, making it a better option for rest compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya. 2. **More Spacious and Well-Designed Rooms Than Other Japanese Hotels in the Same Category:** * Standard rooms are approximately 15-18 sqm, larger than most business hotels in Tokyo, allowing two large suitcases to be opened without feeling cramped. * Comfortable bedding with memory foam/low-rebound pillows. Bathrooms feature bathtubs and smart toilets, with stable water pressure and temperature. Amenities are comprehensive. * Good natural light, with most rooms feeling bright and airy. Cleanliness is up to Japanese standards. 3. **Practical Facilities, Suitable for Long Stays/Families:** * A coin-operated laundry room is available on the 12th floor (washing 300 JPY/drying 100 JPY), and microwaves are on multiple floors, friendly for long-term guests. * A small, complimentary gym on the 3rd floor is a bonus for business travelers or fitness enthusiasts. * Cribs/children's amenities can be arranged, making it family-friendly. The front desk offers multilingual service, with fluent English, and handles luggage storage/package receiving efficiently. 4. **Consistent Service, Thoughtful Details:** * The front desk staff is enthusiastic and professional, responding quickly. Small items like chargers and hair straighteners can be borrowed, with some guests reporting feeling 'valued'. * Free high-speed Wi-Fi is stable. Some periods offer guidance.

GGuest UserShinjuku Granbell Hotel was my accommodation choice during this Tokyo Shinjuku trip. Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel. The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking. Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). For someone who enjoys walking, it’s manageable, but dragging large luggage or walking in the rain might feel a bit inconvenient. In short, the location is highly central and vibrant, but it’s not quite “step out the door and you’re at the station” level. Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch. Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue. In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

WWeiHooI have tried a few capsule hotels, this is by far the worst. My capsule was on the fifth floor, but the lockers are located on the fourth floor which is very inconvenient since the shower is on the eighth floor. There is a sitting area outside the capsule room which is an unsightly mess as shown in the pictures. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most is the door that supposed to shun off the noise from outside, made a loud noise when it closes. I wonder if they are not aware of it or no one complains to them. Imagine how many people comes in and out the entire night and the cranky noise disturbed my sleep. I hope the management will be made known of this default. I will never come back again.

GGuest UserNice experience!Overall I recommend it for solo travellers. The location is central and it is close to metro stations. Also, the bedsheets are changed everyday, you get clean pyjama and towels everyday. One thing that was annoying is the size of the lockes, it is very small and little bit inconvenient with the card sistem. Also keep in mind that you have to be out of the hotel during the certain hours due to cleaning.

BBep SumangIt was a nice experience staying at Hotel Centurion Ueno. The location is very convenient, with train stations nearby and a convenience store just across the lot. There are also several restaurants in the area, as well as easy access to Ueno Park, Ueno Zoo, and the Ameyoko street market. The room is small but can accommodate two average-built persons. Although the hotel was under renovation at the time, overall it was still an awesome stay, and I give it a 👍👍.
