Jr Inn Hakodate

Pros: 1. Unbeatable Location: Extremely convenient! Just a 1-minute walk from JR Hakodate Station and 1 minute to the Hakodate Morning Market. 2. Compact yet Functional Room: Although the room is on the smaller side (16 sqm), the layout is very well-designed, so it didn't feel cramped at all. 3. Smooth Service: Fast and hassle-free check-in and check-out process. We opted for a 2-hour late check-out for an additional 2,000 JPY, which was totally worth it. Cons: Elevator Congestion: The only real downside during our stay was the heavy elevator congestion during morning peak hours (08:30–10:30). If you are heading out during this time, make sure to budget a little extra waiting time!

I stayed in a D-Fourth Non smoking room on the 8th floor. The room has a nice view of Mount Hakodate from the balcony and a view of the port from the bedroom window. Room was clean and there is daily cleaning if you ask for it. Cooking utensils are available though no condiments provided. The bath system is electronic and took a while to figure out how to use it. Room was spacious and adequate for 4 of us. What we loved is that while the dryer did not really dry our clothes (separate washer and dryer), the heater in the room was strong enough to dry them and we could borrow a rack from the hotel to hang them out to dry. Only improvement we would like to suggest - we arrived when it was snowing heavily, and as we moved our luggage into the room the floor became wet and dirtied, we had to clean with tissue as there is no floor cleaner available.would be nice to provide self cleaning tools especially since there is a kitchen and things might spill. And also the balcony did not have any ‘balcony’ shoes so it was just too cold to step outside to enjoy the scenary. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay in the hotel. Would choose it again if we go Hakodate.

Title: Hakodate hotel review 😭 one day is definitely not enough!! I rarely write reviews, honestly 📝 But for this hotel, not writing one just wouldn't do it justice 🔥 I loved every minute of my stay in Hakodate 💙 This little city itself is so beautiful and peaceful ~ The hotel seems like it might have been an old building before 🏛️? But it's been renovated with such great taste, really stylish! The room was very quiet, slept so comfortably 🛏️ And the location is super convenient! 📍 Very close to the Kanemori Red Brick Warehouses 📍 Not far from the nearest station 📍 And there's a supermarket nearby too!! And! The room was really, really clean 🧹 I've stayed in many hotels in Japan, most are quite clean But I can always tell where they cut corners, if the corners are dusty, I notice it immediately 👀 This place was genuinely clean, the sheets even had a fresh scent You can tell the staff takes cleaning very seriously 🧼 Service was also amazing ~ The guy who helped me check in was so welcoming and friendly 🥹 It's a shame I could only stay one day 😭 Next time I definitely have to stay longer!! #Hakodate #HotelReview #Travel

I'd call this unbeatable. First off, the front desk service was truly above and beyond my expectations. It was snowing heavily, and the bellhop was still waiting outside for guests to arrive, helping with luggage. The outdoor private onsen in the room was also exceptional; the view and atmosphere were incredible. The breakfast, with its unbeatable ocean view, topped it all off. I had a wonderful day in Hakodate!

On the last day of my trip, I wanted to experience one of the top 100 hot spring hotels. Upon entering, staff knelt to greet me, and I was offered homemade matcha and cookies. The hotel had a rustic charm. Entering the room, I was immediately struck by its cleanliness and spaciousness. In the morning, I could see the sea and seagulls; sitting and sipping tea while daydreaming was incredibly relaxing.

The hotel is quite large, with several buildings. The room we booked was also spacious, with four beds, but the floor wasn't great – the view outside the window was of another building's rooftop. The hotel's location is pretty good, and it's convenient for getting around; you can walk to the delicious Haiguangfang. They even provided two Refa curling irons in the room, which was a pleasant surprise.

The view is absolutely unbeatable! I stayed in the annex last time, and while the main building is a bit dated, the incredible scenery makes up for everything. The room size was just right, and the cleanliness was acceptable. Breakfast was definitely plentiful and delicious, better than the annex in my opinion, but in other aspects, the annex was superior. The front desk staff were quite good, but the other staff were just so-so, treating both Japanese and foreigners with the same rather indifferent attitude. Also, there's no private onsen (hot spring bath). Checkout was super easy and self-service.

The hotel is conveniently located, literally about 5 minutes from the station, which is great if you are travelling with luggage. The room had the basic essentials, and the area is surrounded by many restaurants. However, for the price, I expected more. The room for two people was extremely small: basically just a bed, a very narrow table with almost no usable space, one chair, and a fridge. The space under the bed for suitcases is a smart idea, but it does not really solve the problem, as there is simply nowhere comfortable to sit or spend time in the room. Another thing I found strange was that there was a Bible and The Book of Mormon in the room. At first, I thought previous guests had left them behind, so I went downstairs to ask, and was told that this was official hotel literature. I found this confusing and unnecessary. A charger was also provided, but it was not clearly marked as a hotel item, so at first I thought it had been left behind by another guest and that the room had not been cleaned properly. The hotel provides various disposable amenities, but surprisingly there were no toothbrushes. Overall, the experience was not great. The location is convenient, but the room size, check-in experience, and some strange details made the stay disappointing.

The staff at the inn were warm and moderate, and I was very comfortable. While there were many non-smoking rooms, the companion who was a smoker was very happy. In addition, the correspondence of the odor remaining in the room is also firm, and I think it can be comfortable. It's a hot spring, but you can get the power of the source. It is a hot spring of great satisfaction! I want to enter again ♪
