Really nice stay thank you. It's a perfect place for families with lots of activities but there's also a quieter adult zone which is ensures a calmer and more luxurious stay. Close to the beach , lots of pools and restaurants on site and as usual the staff are very good. The family part of the hotel is showing its age a bit, but I think that's reflected in the price.
The food at the sky bar is excellent by the way.

Gave it 10/10, no sponsorship involved.
I've stayed at many places in the Khao Lak area, but this one is by far the best.
It's an excellent hotel, very private, lush, and peaceful – perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food is delicious.
The room was great, the AC was cold, the water pressure was strong, and it was fully equipped with amenities like a kettle and a capsule coffee machine.
The breakfast was good, tasty, and made with quality ingredients.
Dinner was also good, with fresh seafood and live music on some evenings.
The beach is good for swimming.
On the day we went diving at Surin Island, the hotel prepared a snack box for our breakfast.
There's a golf cart service for transport within the hotel.
The hotel is not too small and not too large.
It's conveniently located right on the main road, not tucked away down a deep soi like many other places.
There are several restaurants nearby.

Not sure how hotels get their rating but I would say Outrigger is more 4 star than 5. The bathroom really lets the room down with the blind required on the shower, the positioning of the toilet and the quality of the actual shower. This hotel is mainly families so just be aware if you are not particularly wanting to be surrounded by children and there are a few running round at 3am in their rooms (which if you are below them may wake you up.) A very nice hotel but not a lot of facilities or choice, nowhere to really walk to and cabs needed to Khao Lak and Bang Niam….

🌿 Mai Holiday by Mai Khao Lak (adult zone)
This zone is suitable for those who really want peace and quiet. The feeling of lying down quietly, reading a book, and relaxing your mind.
📍Suitable for those with a private car, must have, no problem.
📍General service, the staff are like new employees.
📍The room is spacious, condo feel, with a bedroom, bathroom, living room, outdoor balcony, can lie down and relax.
📍Breakfast for us is quite varied, there are many to choose from, but it's a basic menu, not that wow.
📍The swimming pool is spacious, the front zone is a family zone, there is a slide, opens at 11.00 am, the back zone is not very clean, there is slippery algae, but overall it is quite wide.
📍The hotel area is quite large, every time we go somewhere, we have to call a car all the time. At night, it is quite dark, scary for us. 😱
⛔️ The room we got had no phone signal at all. Those who bring work to do will have a hard time. The phone signal is only 1 bar, the hotel's wifi is not excellent at all, there is almost no TV signal, the screen is like a water droplet like in the past, saving electricity. The TV is almost never turned on because it can't be watched.
Overall, it is an indifferent hotel, not uninspired. But there was nothing impressive 555 🥰🥰🥰

An excellent hotel. The room is huge, clean, bright, with a private pool, terrace, and sun loungers. The hotel grounds are vast with many pools and various facilities: spa, gym, a superb kids' club, climbing wall, skate track, and golf. The staff are friendly, always smiling, and consistently eager to help guests. There's a beautiful beach with a bar, fire pits, billiards, great sun loungers, and an excellent sea, along with paddleboards, kayaks, etc. The gentle slope into the sea is perfect for children. Overall, it's the best family hotel. We will come here again. Thank you.

A nice, relaxing hotel. Clean grounds. A pool with a slide. Green, well-maintained grounds. There's a pond with fish and lotuses, very beautiful. There's a cafe nearby. The beach is a 15-minute walk away. However, the beach has strong low tides. For swimming, you need to go to Coconut Beach. A tuk-tuk is right next to the hotel.

The front office staff provided excellent service during check-in and clearly explained the hotel information. The room was not as old as expected, it was spacious, and the hotel is located right on the beach—quiet and perfect for relaxation.
However, the swimming pool was not clean, with leaves floating in it.
Overall, the stay was good, but I was disappointed during check-out. After I had already left the hotel and was making a U-turn to head home, a security guard stopped my car to ask for a transfer slip for the melon water charge. The front office staff had asked him to do this.
(Can recheck CCTV)
I believe the staff should double-check all documents more carefully before guests leave, rather than asking for payment proof afterward. Fortunately, the security guard was polite and humble.
Please consider improving how the front office handles and resolves such situations.

Very nice hotel and amenities and right on the beach. They put us in adjoining rooms per the request. Rooms clean and very efficient housekeeping. Breakfast really good buffet and coffee service. Good selection of restaurants, also on beach. Small street with shops and massage 5 minutes walk. The best part is the entertainment centre, with free gym, table tennis and also pay reasonable price for tennis, squash, snooker, pool, archery and a 4 lane bowling arcade !! Great fun and fitness. Highly recommend for chill or activity or both

The perfect hotel for a beach holiday. For retirees or families with small children.
It's the edge of civilization, there's nothing nearby.
The nearest 7/11 is 4 km away. There are cafes on the beach, though, and the food is delicious. Not particularly expensive. But they certainly look scary. Also, while dining by the sea at sunset, you might be attacked by hermit crabs and other sea creatures that emerge after dark. 😅
We saw a huge cockroach in the hotel itself (I don't think it lives there, it was probably a stray, but it was scary).
The beaches are great, that's for sure. The coastline is a bonfire.
The hotel cafe is significantly more expensive than the one on the beach, but also more presentable.
The population is mostly European.
Overall, I recommend it for a beach holiday, but don't hang out here 🤷

AAnonymous UserHotel is wonderful and quie. It is located in low density area, 5-10mins away from Khao Lak Town.
Staff are nice as well as service. They introduce everything in details. Guest could request via their own apps.
Room and environment also pretty good. Private pool in every room, clean and comfortable. Hotel owns their private beach with white sands. We spend a wonderful time there.
A lot of selection in the Western breakfast buffet. Good good good.
PPaul_HKBeautiful location and hotel grounds are absolutely stunning. On the surface the rooms look good but they are a bit dated with some impractical features and water was dripping from the AC vent. The toilet is semi private which is a bit strange - it sort of connects with the shower area which is not ideal when you are with your partner. Also there are no wardrobe doors even though the shower area is right next to it.
The staff are generally nice and friendly but service is very average for a hotel of this nature compared to other boutique hotels, with staff constantly forgetting things from food or drinks orders at the restaurant.
Flexibility of breakfast was fantastic though and in general the food was excellent. Encountered some issues with room service on our first evening which were resolved promptly the following day.
End of stay was disappointing - we appreciated the hotel were able to extend our check-out by 2 hours to 2pm (and able to use a shower room to get changed later in the day), but they made it abundantly clear that if we wanted the room to 7pm then we would have to pay for another half-day occupancy even though the hotel was definitely not full. If the hotel was at full capacity, we would have completely understood the situation. It all felt a bit ‘budget’ from a 5 star hotel.
To make matters worse, during a rainy and cool afternoon, we ended up killing time on sun-beds on the beach before we could use the their shower room. The bizarre thing was that the shower room turned out to be a different guest room identical to the one we had been staying in. Surely it would have been easier to let us stay in our original room for a few extra hours, it would also have saved the hotel from having to clean two rooms.
Given that we had arrived very late on the first night, it was not like we were trying to take advantage of them and maximise our stay - we were just killing time ahead of our evening flight. It was all quite a weird end and so not sure we’d go back or recommend this hotel even though the setting is incredibly beautiful.
There is a lot of communication provided about the ethos of excellent hospitality while staying in the hotel. This specific action and policy seemed in opposition to these communicated values.
AAnthony w BridgesMarriott Khao Lak is a wonderful hotel that's ideal for both families and business travelers. I've personally used it for both purposes and highly recommend it.
Here’s what makes it stand out:
* Welcoming Staff: The staff is friendly, professional, and makes you feel right at home.
* Big, Clean Rooms: The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and very comfortable.
* Fantastic Breakfast: They offer a fantastic breakfast with a huge variety of delicious options.
* Great Swimming Pools: The pools are amazing—perfect for a swim or just lounging by the water.
Overall, it's a great choice and I would definitely stay there again.
MMyrkStyrWe (wife, myself and 8 year old son) stayed end of March 2026. The hotel was very nice and the staff was very helpful and placed us in a nice room with King size bed and knew us by name. The bedroom had an ocean view + balcony and comfortable bed that fit all 3 of us. We arrived on a Tuesday when they do a weekly firedance. We really enjoyed the infinity pool at sunset where the pool met the ocean and sky. The staff was willing to drive us by golf cart between the 2 sides of the resort to be able to access the whole resort easily. The restaurant food was tasty as well but only complaint was that it was Italian food and we were in Thailand and wanted to eat Thai food. The included buffet breakfast was wonderful with an array of options for everyone and it changed a bit every day we were there (5 nights). For us, the location was not ideal, as you have to take a taxi to get to the town or restaurants and we ended up finding a couple spots we could walk to near the resort (Memories Beach next door) and a small restaurant walking distance. We were delighted to find that there is an Elephant Sanctuary next door to Aspara, walking distance and visiting the elephants was an amazing experience (1000 THB for 3 people and food/milk to feed the elephants). We did a day snorkel trip to Surin National Park and the location was accessible for the pickup to the port. I was unable to use Grab for food or ride service and when we did use taxi, we used the hotel taxi service, which was a bit more expensive than I wanted. The ride to the airport was 2,500 THB for the 3 of us and our bags arranged by hotel. It was nice knowing that the taxi would be there and it was a private ride with AC and plenty of room. There is a river that divides the two sides of the resort and it passes in front of the hotel into the ocean. We were advised not to swim in the river, so we were a bit concerned when crossing it or to swim in the water that is poured into, but we did swim in the water in front of the Memories Beach just adjacent to Aspara. I would recommend Aspara particularly to folks looking for quiet, and prefer to be away from hustle and bustle of city and who don't mind taking a Tuk Tuk to places they want to visit. Great place to go to if you don't want to leave the resort. I would have preferred to be closer to more restaurants (walking distance) but otherwise, the staff, the grounds, the breakfast, everyone was amazing. Enjoy the photos.

GGuest UserA Slice of Paradise at JW Marriott Khao Lak 🌴
From the moment we arrived at JW Marriott Khao Lak, we were swept into a world of tropical elegance and warm hospitality. Nestled along a pristine stretch of beach, the resort blends traditional Thai charm with modern luxury in the most seamless way.
Our room was spacious, beautifully designed with local accents, and opened directly onto the lagoon pool—yes, the 2.5 km-long pool that winds through the entire resort like a lazy river. Waking up and diving straight into the water was a dream.
The staff were exceptional—always smiling, attentive, and genuinely eager to make our stay memorable. Whether it was the front desk, housekeeping, or the restaurant teams, everyone made us feel like VIPs.
Dining was a highlight. From the beachfront seafood BBQ at The Waterfront to the authentic Thai flavors at Ta-Krai, every meal was a delight. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality and ambiance made it worthwhile.
We also loved the little touches: the JW Garden where herbs are grown for the kitchen, the serene Quan Spa, and the family-friendly amenities like the kids’ pool and activities. Evenings were magical, with golden sunsets and live music by the beach.
If you’re looking for a peaceful, luxurious escape with world-class service and a touch of Thai soul, JW Marriott Khao Lak is a top-tier choice. We left feeling refreshed, pampered, and already planning our return.
GGuest UserThe hotel is a 7-minute walk from the beach. I enjoyed walking to Nang Thong Beach along a dirt road through the abandoned hotel grounds and forest. There you'll see hens and chicks, roosters, cows, and coconut palms. Breakfasts are monotonous. The rooms are large and spacious. There's plenty of seating—two rattan armchairs, two chairs, and a stool—a rarity in Thailand. There's a large TV where you can watch your own movies from a USB drive. There's hot water!
I loved everything.
SSherry_dingExtremely satisfied with our Chinese New Year family trip! Our whole family loves relaxing at hotels, so the slightly remote location was definitely worth it for the low crowds, especially compared to the usual throng on Phuket island itself. There were very few Chinese tourists, mostly Europeans, Russians, and some Indians who were all quite well-behaved, unlike the noisy ones you sometimes encounter in places like Singapore. Phang Nga Bay was about 5 degrees cooler than the main island, so even under the blazing sun, spending half a day in the connecting pool wasn't hot at all. Lounging on a deckchair, sipping a cold drink and feeling the sea breeze was incredibly comfortable. Our room had an amazing view, though sadly we didn't get a complimentary upgrade. Breakfast was delicious. We ate dinner outside the hotel, which was great value for money – huge lobsters and crabs weren't expensive and were super fresh. We were so comfortable just relaxing that we barely participated in any hotel activities, though the pool was quite lively. On the first day of Chinese New Year, they even gave us red packets, which made us Chinese guests very happy!
BBJT26Was good location and resort for a few days. Was very busy over Christmas period, mainly with families. The same brand in China is much higher quality. Towels on arrival had holes and lots of loose threads which was really disappointing from this brand. Good choice at breakfast but many things ran out regularly as just so many people. A very different experience to going to a Pullman resort in China.
VVladislavKhaolak Wanaburee Resort is an ideal place for those who appreciate nature, comfort, and tranquility.
Pros: The hotel boasts a large, well-maintained area with a beautiful landscape design. It has everything: direct beach access, a picturesque stream, and even a lake. The rooms are very clean, modern, and truly meet the standards of a 5-star hotel. Daily housekeeping ensures impeccable cleanliness. The charming bridges connecting different parts of the property add a special touch. Walking across them feels like being in untouched jungles. The beach is well-equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas, and there’s a cozy beachside café nearby where you can have lunch or dinner while enjoying the sea view. The resort’s territory is full of life: you’ll see many butterflies and even friendly monitor lizards wandering around, adding to the tropical paradise vibe.
Cons: Breakfasts could be more varied, especially in terms of fresh pastries.
Good to know: The nearest 7/11 or town café is about a 15-minute walk away (there’s a sidewalk). If you prefer not to walk, a taxi costs 100 baht.
The closest self-service laundry is a 15-minute drive away (400 baht).
Overall, Khaolak Wanaburee Resort is a perfect choice for those looking to relax in harmony with nature while enjoying comfort and quality service. Highly recommended!
