"Services provided by Chinese immigrants who can speak English, Cantonese and mandarin fluently. Easy going, nice, gentle and polite. Guests are from world wide. They are all nice polite and communicable .
Location is self-evidently very very excellent. Just behind the main gate of world famous SF Chinatown. Compared to the comparable location of hotels/motels in New York, this is definitely an underpriced one. easy to get access to public transport/food/tour spots."
"Room is very clean and bed very comfortable. Good room service everyday, unlimited complimentary water, coffee, tea, cookies all day long. Wifi available in room. Staff are courteous. Location is close to Union square and all transport. I will stay here again next time. The only flaw is the TV is not connected to power & no power cord provided, hence can't watch TV, hope this can fix."
"The Handlery Union Square Hotel boasts an excellent and convenient location, within a 10-minute walk of the MTR station, tram stops, and other public transport. We felt the genuine enthusiasm of both the front desk staff and the housekeeping team. Upon checking in, the hotel's architecture and facilities conveyed a sense of long history, and the overall environment was impeccably clean. The hotel thoughtfully provides complimentary luggage storage, which allowed us to leave our bags in their dedicated space after checking out on our last day, giving us a full day to explore worry-free before picking them up in the evening and taking BART to the airport."
"The hotel was fantastic, and the room was incredibly comfortable. The front desk service was absolutely outstanding. The courtyard is beautiful with a lovely little fountain, and there are great restaurants and bars nearby! I loved the lounge on the first floor! The price was fair and attractive! I definitely recommend it!"
"This is my go to as I come to visit Grace Cathedral just walking distance up Nob Hill. Clean, comfy sheets with friendly cleaning staff. Safe, remodeled lobby, great front desk. Super value for a union Squarr"
"The staff at Hotel Beresford San Francisco were incredibly welcoming and helpful. I was really happy with the room I booked; it was exceptionally clean and the bed was huge and super comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a large supermarket, and there's a bus stop right outside. Across the street is a Ross department store, and the metro is just a 2-minute walk away. I'll definitely choose Hotel Beresford again next time I'm in San Francisco."
"Check in was easy. Room was comfortable. Great location around lots of restaurants and bars so it can get noisy. Water fountain at the end of hall and ice bags. Café attached to hotel for breakfast. Relaxing lounge to get away from the city noise."
"Facilities: Fully equipped.
Cleanliness: Very clean.
Environment: This was my first time seeing an elevator like this; I'd only ever seen them in movies before.
Breakfast: I loved the yogurt and the apples; the apples were very fresh.
The front desk staff was very helpful and even asked if I needed help calling a taxi.
I would definitely consider staying at this hotel again next time I'm in San Francisco 😊"
"Loved the location! There are bus stops not too far away, and parking depends on availability. The front desk service was excellent. Even though it was summer, I felt a bit cold, so the front desk gave me a space heater, and it made the room nice and toasty."
"A wonderful small renovated hotel at excellent pricing. Good location. Clean spotless room with large size and open light windows. Comfy bed and bathroom. The staff and manager are very friendly and helpful. I extended my stay to an extra day
MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THE BREAKFAST WAITRESS WHO WAS UNFRIENDLY AMD RUDE. I POLITELY ASKED 3 TIMES FOR A COFFEE REFILL AMD WALTED 10 MINITES WHILE SHE WAITED ON NRW ARRIVING TABLES. WHEN O ASKED AGAIN SHE RUDELY TOLD ME TO KEEP WAITING. WHEM I TOLD HER I WOULD MAKE A FORMAL COMPLAINT SHE SAID WITH DISGUST ”GO AHEAD!:. I LEFT IMMEDIAYELY WITJPUT MY REQUEST SO I WOULD NOT SAY SOMETHING INAPPROPRIATE.
SHE CLEARLY HAYRS HER JOB AND SHOULD BE REPLACED.. THANKFULLY THE HOTEL MGR CAME TO ME, APOLOGIZED AND POILITELY DOSCISSED MY CONCERN.

Great
Ccarrie2000This hotel feels very good, the layout and facilities of the hotel are very atmospheric, the service attitude is very good, the surrounding environment is also good, supermarkets, restaurants, and transportation are very convenient.
WWaynehaoqiThis hotel is well-managed. There's a self check-in and check-out on the 3rd floor, and the security guard at the entrance is very welcoming. This is a chain hotel, with locations in both San Francisco and LA. It's right in downtown San Francisco, very close to Union Square, making it super convenient for getting around. The window view is also quite nice.
GGuest UserVery expensive for a B&B. Nice spot in the Castro/ Mission district near Dolores Park. Well-maintained & reasonable management. Lots of stairs to go up into main house lobby — wrought iron gates with intercom to buzz to get entry into property. Try to get a room in the older main house to minimize stairs! No AC. They have limited parking spots behind the two B&B houses (access from Dorland St) for US$35./day plus tax which is a steep price. Make sure u book a parking spot in advance. Beautiful garden courtyard in the back. Sadly we never got to use it. Try to get a room that faces the other “house” or the backyard - quieter. We had a front room Deluxe King Room 36 which looked nothing like the sample room photos (only one Room 24 w courtyard view, sofa, coffee table). We got a smaller room approx 290sf vs what we paid for 32sq.m, 344sf, no closet just small armoire to hang a couple of things, no sofa, no coffee table, no balcony. They were kind enough to give us a refund for the price difference between the Deluxe King we booked & the Standard King we got. Had to ask for them to vacuum room. Found tissue under headboard/bed, dusty. Not the kind of room you would want to spend much time in —teeny tiny TV, faced front noisy street with electric bus passing by. No screens in windows so had to close windows at night to keep critters out. Bed was ok. Pillows were synthetic & lumpy. View was of electric lines & school across the street. Beware some electric outlets. One was burnt out. Breakfast was repetitive but nice to eat in a lovely breakfast room or outdoor deck. Hard-boiled eggs, muesli, fruit, muffins/ carbs, American coffee, juices. Fortunately SPRO café was next door if you need a great cappuccino or chai latté! Didn’t get a chance to enjoy their wine & cheese. Contact them on WhatsApp +1 (415) 297-6891 to discuss rooms available.
PPearly9000Everything was wonderful and perfect until check-out. They asked to swipe my Visa card for a $200 deposit on the first day of check-in, which was completely fine.
However, on the day of check-out, they told me the service fees for 3 nights came to $123.60. They said they would deduct it from my deposit and refund the remaining balance within a few days. I thought that was fine too.
But no — they then charged another $200 to my Visa card without even touching my card again and without my permission. In total, they have charged $400 from my card. I honestly feel like crying because I don’t know what to do.
If they don’t refund my money in the next few days, will Trip help resolve this for me? I have never experienced a situation like this before.
This hotel was excellent in every way, but charging a guest’s card without authorization is truly disappointing and unfortunate. Can someone please tell me how I can get my money back?
CChenzel TanDeducted 1 point from location as there were too many homeless people around that made us not feel safe when walking in or out of the hotel.
The room itself were big enough for 2 people and I would commend the staff for being so accommodating helping us to check in early and checking if they have an available twin room available instead of just giving us a King bed when they noticed we were 2 friends together.
No bellboy in the hotel so be prepared to lug all your luggages up to your room.
They have free breakfast/snacks in the morning and coffee/tea.
Overall satisfied with my stay!
EErbasOur stay at Nob Hill Hotel was unexpectedly great.
Although it’s a little far from Union Square, the walk was very tolerable. What really stood out was the free unlimited water and coffee available 24/7, which was a huge plus. The hotel also has a very unique lift and a charming, distinctive style that added character to our stay. Overall, a pleasant surprise and a comfortable experience.
We would also like to commend the helpfulness of Emmanuel, who assisted us during our stay. He is very kind and accommodating, and his warm service truly made our experience even better. We will definitely come back and even cancelled our other hotel booking so we can return again after our visit here in Hollywood.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is convenient, about 800 meters' walk to the Civic Center/UN Plaza metro station, and close to Union Square and Chinatown. However, there are many homeless people in the surrounding streets, which makes the environmental smell a bit strong. Although the room is a bit cramped, it is generally clean and tidy. The blackout curtains are excellent, and there are plenty of power outlets near the desk and bed. The bath towels are very new and pleasant to use. Breakfast is served from 7-10 AM, but the variety is simple.
LLucia IreneThe hotel itself is very nice. I give it a 3/5 for service, as the hotel description states that it offers luggage storage, which is not true. They don't offer it and excuse themselves by saying they don't have space, but then they don't mention that you have this service.
They direct you to the Caza Hotel, indicating that you can store your bags there. Obviously, paying for six pieces of luggage, the cost was $50 ($30 + tax). I've attached photos.
TTy TravelerI stayed here on New Year’s Eve and enjoyed my stay. The workers are nice and helpful and the room was very clean. The room was small and simple, but the bed was comfortable and heater worked efficiently. If you’re spending a few days in San Fran, stay here. You won’t regret it.
AAnonymous UserThe address of the accommodation is easily accessible, next to the bus stop. There is a convenience store. Restaurants in the same area The disadvantage is that it is an area with a lot of homeless people. for cleanliness There are some that are clean and some that are not that clean because it is a residence where many people live. Overall, it was worth the price paid.
