Elysium Apartments

"Chose Elysium from prior great experience for a long overdue visit to Cairns northern beaches. It's an easy 25 minute drive north from Cairns airport. Conveniently located in Palm Cove (5 minute stroll to south end of Williams Esplanade for the plethora of eateries and sandy beach; Coles supermarket 5 minutes drive away). Stayed in 1 bedroom apartment (108A ) for 5 nights - it's very spacious (open-plan well-equipped kitchen-diner-lounge), separate bedroom with comfy beds, walk-in wardrobes and double shower as well as air-con and fans, and deep covered balcony. It was generally clean, very quiet, had no smells, and was well-maintained. Balcony overlooks roof of adjacent Palm Cove Tavern, but don't worry you won't hear a pipsqueak from them. Our balcony was separated from adjacent apartment by frosted glass partition and be aware that guests are allowed to smoke on their balcony (if that is an issue for you). Sharyon and Stacey at the front desk are a gem, and can provide a wealth of information (office hours M-F 0830-1630; S&S 0830-1200; always someone contactable by phone 24/7 outside of those hours). Pros - secure allocated car parking; lift to all floors Cons - no wall hook or substantial towel rail in bathroom (there's a flimsy tea towel type holder); totally impractical vanity basin tap spout; have to take all your rubbish to the rubbish chute at the end of your stay or else you'll incur extra charges (a first for me at a serviced apartment, but they do provide written notice of this at check-in). Overall, it was a great stay and suited our needs as we were away from the apartment most of the day. Definitely will return if we are visiting the area once more. "

Argosy on the Beach

"We stayed 3 nights but wished it was longer. The apartment was fabulous, attention to detail was clearly apparent and made you feel right at home. The furnishings offered real comfort and relaxation, the bed was very comfortable and the kitchen and utilities provided everything required for eating in. We had to pool to ourselves which was great and we really enjoyed our evening drinks on the balcony overlooking the beach and ocean. Stuart and Tony were very friendly and clearly take pride in managing the resort, we were impressed and would gladly return."

"We loved staying with Maz & Alan. We had a truly authentic tropical Australian experience. Their place is just off a lovely quiet beautiful beach, their garden is a tropical oasis with a pool and the breakfast tropical fresh fruit tasting platter could only happen in Queensland. The King Room is in a separate apartment from the main house so was very private, it had a simple kitchen for easy food preparation and the bed was really comfortable. Maz & Alan were delightful. We felt looked after and hosted, yet given plenty of space. We would definitely recommend spending a few days here. Thanks for everything. We may see you in Wellington some time ."
