Always a Pleasure — My Third Stay and Still Loving It!
This was my third time staying at this hotel, and it continues to impress. The location is convenient—just a short walk to the subway station and surrounded by plenty of great local eats. Whether you’re in the mood for street food or something more upscale, it’s all within 15mins walking distance.
🧼 Cleanliness: The cleaning staff are incredibly quick and polite. My room was always spotless, and they were respectful and efficient every single day.
🍽️ Breakfast: The breakfast selection is excellent for the price. The coffee machine serves good americanos and lattes. I also appreciated the daily fruit platters, which added a fresh and thoughtful touch after a long day at work.
💁♀️ Service: Nana (娜娜） and her colleagues’ service was still outstanding. They are attentive, professional, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Their warm demeanor and helpful attitude made a real difference in my stay.

Exceptional Stay at Heyitang Hongqiao
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Heyitang Hongqiao, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. The hotel strikes a perfect balance between modern design and traditional Chinese aesthetics, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere from the moment you step inside.
Its convenient proximity to the Shanghai subway makes it an ideal base for families and tourists alike. A special bonus was the complimentary city tour offered by the hotel, which included highlights like The Bund and Yu Garden—an unexpected and thoughtful touch that added great value to our stay.
The staff were incredibly friendly, attentive, and consistently went above and beyond to ensure we felt comfortable and well cared for. Our room was impressively spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with smart features that made everything feel effortless and modern.
Overall, Heyitang Hongqiao offers an exceptional experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Shanghai.

The hotel room and design modern architecture, hotel staff friendly and attentive.
The room have separate bathroom, toilet equipped with modern electrical appliances suits winter and summer plus sanitising. Save time for family who may have to use individual.
Toiletries was aromatic for calming and relaxing fragrance, one of my favourite.
Prior to going up to the room there’s welcome beverages to quench the thirst without limiting throughout the stay.
Hotel staff were more than willing to assist every enquiries.
The hotel location was spectacular as metro accessible right in front of hotel. For the local may be accessible for the bus too.
Shopping mall with multiple options and hawker stalls were just right side of the hotel by walking distance across the road or through subway stations less than 5 mins.
Upon check out , the staff had a farewell gift such as the toiletries.

The hotel grounds are beautiful, offering a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. The expansive space felt grand and created a wonderful atmosphere. Inside, the room itself had a very high-quality feel. I absolutely loved the bedding – it was both soft and supportive. The linen sofa was also to my liking and felt very comfortable. Winnie, the front desk staff, was incredibly warm and charming. It offers excellent value for money and is definitely worth a return visit.

Review: Pleasant Stay with Some Areas for Improvement
I had a comfortable stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was generally nice, but the rooms were a bit dark and could use more lighting. While the cleanliness was average, it met basic standards.
The breakfast was a highlight—much nicer compared to other hotels I've stayed at, with a good variety of options. The staff were friendly and helpful, which added to the overall positive experience.
However, the fitness area definitely needs some renovation and better cleaning. Investing in yoga mats would be a great addition for guests looking to maintain their routines.
Overall, it’s a decent place with potential for improvement in certain areas!

It's been an overall great experience staying at Citadines Songhong Road. Rooms are new and comfy, good location and convenient, though several basic stuff (eg. washing detergent, laundry detergent, utensils etc) have to request from reception instead of available in the rooms.

Facilities: very new, more advanced, compared to other first-tier cities' five-star standards
Hygienic: very clean, the decoration is very new, there is no smell, the sheets are covered, and the wash towels are very clean.
Environment: The room has carpets, the environment outside the window is also very good, the breakfast is very rich, the price is very high
Service: We also upgraded to the hotel, especially the ladies and brothers at the front desk, very enthusiastic, very talkative, need their help very positive and efficient. Even the doorman is very nice.

SSimonastripsThis hotel is clean, quite and not that bad, but it could be much better with few changes. I agree with the bad points underlined by other reviewers:
1. there is a smell of old smoke in the rooms: the first one I have been was terrible, then I asked to be changed and the second one was much better, but still with bad smell. I checked and I noticed that the tents and the big black round object hanging on the bed are the one smelling of old smoke so it is highly probable that this problem is in all the rooms. If you are particularly sensitive to smell, this place is not for you.
2. It is a bit difficult to find the entrance (we entered from the Novotel, they have elevators in common) so I would recommand to book this place only if you arrive before 7:30 - 8:00pm. Honestly I already reached this conclusion reading previous reviewrs and I booked this hotel because we were supposed to arrive early enough. Then between flight delay and pick up trouble we arrived more that 4 hours later than original plan (around midnight) and indeed I encounterd all difficulties underlined by others.
3. No English communications. This has not been a problem in other hotels around China since they had a well organized weChat service. But here they do not have anything of the same (one of the guu at the reception give to me his personal contact to help). This make communications very hard for non chinese speaking people, so I do not feel to recommand this place if you are not fluent in chinese (especially since it is quite probable you will have problems here that need to be addressed).
4. Kitchen has pots and pans, but not glasses, forks, spoons nor dish sponge and soap. Of course you can ask for them, but point 3 applies (I couldn't succeed in getting the sponge and soap). Of course they washed my dishes, but the question arises: what they used to clan them if I didn't have a sponge in the room? It felt to me a bit unpleasant.
On the other hand Shanghai is much more expensive than other Chinese cities, so probably this is what you het for this price away from the city center with a kitchen. So I think this could be an acceptable choice depending on your priority.
Finally for the hotel. I thing this place could greatly improved with a couple of very little expensive changes:
1. change or wash deeply the tents (they stink like hell of smoke). It would be even better if you would replace them with new and 10cm longer one (so there wpuld be no light arriving from top nor bottom).
2 Remove the black round thing (see photo) in all the rooms: it stinks of years of old smoke and it is also '70 style (one of the worse years for style in Italy and, consequently, all over the world :-D )
3. Create a weChat channel service for the guests who don't speak chinese: this would improve communication a lot thanks to the wechat translation service.
4. Add dish sponge and soap in the rooms: this would increase the hygiene of the room and the cleaning ladies could use it to clean guests dishes.
Finally it would be a really good plus to remove the stinky and old carpet in the corridor!!

The screen was high-definition, and the keyboard and mouse felt fantastic. The room was clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable, and the soundproofing was excellent. The staff was friendly and responsive, and the surrounding area was convenient for dining. I'll definitely be back for another gaming experience here. Highly recommended!

GGuest UserThe room with few people is good, the luggage is small, quiet and comfortable, the sheets are covered with fluff, the bed is not strong enough, the upper bed is shaking and quiet like thunder, the refrigerator is too small and stuffed with things, and there is a red indicator light on the socket. It cannot be turned off and affects the rest. The room has no windows, the air conditioner is open all day long, the air in the room is not good when there are many people, the bathroom basin is high and the small water is always overflowing, the urinal is too flushed and it is easy to splash on the body, and the location is not good.
